Cool place Could use some better lighting on outside to draw some attention to the place. Service was spotty. I sat the bar upon arrival. Was handed a menu but no greeting. Bartender was busy talking to 2 other women at the bar. Took him a good 5 minutes to even turn back his attention to take my drink order.
Had to flag down server at times once moved to table but that could have also been because the person I was with was a total obnoxious a-- so I would have stayed away too.
I had a lemoncello Spritz but did not care for it much. There was something different than other Spritzs I've had. The bottle of Pinot Noire was good.
For food, I had the special, grilled cheese, which was good but not sure it was 12$ good for the size and no side, like chips, with it. The marinara for dipping was good but definitely had a 'kick' to it.
Overall a cute place and will definitely go back again, without the obnoxious a--, which will probably make it more enjoyable no matter what other factors are or...
Read moreThe best thing about this place in my opinion is the ambiance, super cozy, rustic and intimate with nice music. It was even better on a cold Sunday evening. The wines they had were good, ended up trying several ones on the table and all were pretty solid, the server didn’t know some answer but try to get them for us so that’s nice. I think the food is the weakest thing, we had olives, 3 cheeses, roasted tomatoes, meatballs, beans and Mac and cheese. The beans were, to me the best ones and most flavorful. The Mac and cheese was a little salty and the meatballs were good but bland. A couple of plates came with bread and it was not the best bread, not sure what the deal is but I hoped for crispy/toasted bread but it was a bit hard. All this could be my taste but hope to see some changes if more customers feel the same way.
I would totally go back for the nice ambiance and...
Read moreMy wife and I went the night they opened. As soon as we walked in, I said to her, “this is our spot.“ The first thing that hit me was the fragrance of the food coming out of the kitchen along with the warm smell of a wood-burning stove. The lighting is soft, yellow, and warm. The staff is welcoming and hospitable, genuinely concerned with the guest’s experience. The food is absolutely delicious — an assortment of small plates: salads, cheeses, meatballs, roasted veggies, flavored nuts, and crostinis — served family style for everyone to share. The owner and his family are absolutely wonderful hosts, extremely well informed about food and wine. And the price point can’t be beat. This place is a treasure to our city. Do yourself a favor, and check it out before everyone else...
