I have stayed here multiple times while traveling, and I will continue to stay here. It is an older, no frills property with a wonderful family managing it. They always welcome my small dogs. However, I keep my dogs in a pen on waterproof pads. They do not run around and certainly do not get on the beds, so that may be why I do not have trouble when traveling with pets.
I also do not trash the room. I pick up after myself, so it looks like no one was ever there except for the bed. I did not see any bugs, but hotels spray often. Hotels/motels do not have roaches. Roaches are caused by the guests when they leave food in the room. Guests also bring in roaches, but the residue of pest control will get them eventually.I take my trash outside as soon as I am finished eating.
As far as the complaints about extra deposits, all motels do that in case guests damage something. It is written on the motel website if people would just bother to read.
When reading reviews, consider the guests writing them. Consider the poorly written sentences and complaints, and you may decide to NOT listen to that person's review. I am amazed how many guests think they should have clean sheets, towels, or service EVERY day when they certainly don't have the same service at their homes. All motels housekeeping services are overworked. They have maybe 15-20 minutes to put new sheets, towels, and soap in the room, then have to sweep and mop the room. When they also have to pick up a guest's trash, something gets left out of the cleaning process. Let's cut housekeeping some slack.
A motel is for you to sleep. It is not for you to have a party or invite other unregistered people over. This kind of garbage causes motel prices to become too expensive because they have to hire more help. And, please stop posting photos of your dogs ON the beds. Nobody wants fleas in the bedding.
This is my opinion, and I am posting this because I am tired of people ruining hotels for the rest of us. It is so difficult to find a motel that takes dogs. This is a very quiet and safe area and the managing family...
Read moreBed covered in Dog Urine on Arrival!!!!!!!!!! Owner said his cleaners dropped the ball in person when he checked the room himself with both my fiancé and I there. After he got us a room next door and admitted fault I thought we were good. Then he walks to the office 40 feet away calls my room insults me with a rude tone to his voice saying it was my dog totally doing a 180. I said “Excuse Me” then he loudly kept talking over me not allowing me a single word. So I said I don’t want to hear it Pal. The Owner then told me to find another place to stay and hung up the phone. I walked to the office and they very cowardly locked the door in my face to deny me a refund. So I packed and moved my belongings for the third time back to the car after having changed rooms twice. And ultimately they Scammed me out of 60 dollars but more importantly they almost ruined my Christmas. Thankfully Terror on 66 and the very nice Super 8 next door saved the day. Also the desk clerk there told me she wasn’t surprised by my experience down the road. Funny thing is the Owner Aired the smell out of the room so it was below freezing when we arrived and I didn’t notice the wet spot until bringing my dog back inside from Going on a walk and letting her Potty and Poo! Ironic right. Also I met his cleaners before leaving and one had literally 0 personal hygiene. I can officially say this is the worst place and experience I’ve had my entire adult life having internationally travelled to many countries and seen the Majority of the US. I’m also a Dog Trainer and a Disabled Veteran. Stay Away from...
Read moreThis Motel 6 has its ups and downs. But that's being said, I would probably stay here again unless I had the grandkids because that would require a motel with a pool. Pros: 1) I like the 2 wooden bars that are in the king room. I made one into a coffee bar and the other into a food bar since the king room has a mini fridge and a microwave. 2) It was pretty quiet. I told the manager that I didn't need anything and I wasn't bothered by housekeeping. 3) TV and cable were pretty good. Better than I have at home. Watched several HBO movies. 4) I like the bigger tiled shower over a bathtub. 5) The ice machine was large and near my room 111. I live on ice and tea in the summer so I made frequent trips to the ice house in the parking lot. 6) The staff was nice. 7) Price was good. The $200 I saved over staying at the Baymont paid for our meals for 4 days. 8) Convenient location. Nothing is very far in Sullivan. Cons: 1) Towels and washcloths were not adequate. We went across the freeway to Walmart and bought towels, washcloths and 2-ply toilet paper. Not a fan of 1-ply stuff. No bathmat. 2) Upgrades are $10 a night if you book on Expedia with a no refunds price. I booked a 2 queen room and did not realize that it did not include a fridge and microwave. I had my cooler so I could have made it but I prefer a fridge. 3) The back section of the property had what appears to be long-term renters. 4) The outside needs the painting finished. Good start, just not done. Overall, I'm happy with my stay. I had read the comments and knew...
