Update I deleted and re-added this review because the owner found it necessary at 6am to respond to my review, and more or less call me a liar for the public to see. I don’t appreciate the cattiness, the unprofessional attitude, and you calling not just me, but the three people I was with liars. Half of the times that KeNzY (our waitress) came to the table to do anything it was upon request from us, not her on her own terms but maybe twice. Maybe. If she was training someone else, then shouldn’t she be setting a good example by waiting on us properly as well? Not just ignoring us, or all of the other waitresses ignoring us instead of explaining what you just told us? And the empty plates were riddling the middle of the table, because if we would’ve put them all at the edge, they would’ve been piled in front of me ALONG WITH THE EMPTY DRINKS SHOWN and I would have gone from little to no room to eat. Maybe I should’ve taken a picture of the whole table to make y’all look worse; is that what you wanted instead? Common sense. This review will be deleted and reposted until the owner can learn to just say “I’m sorry, we will be sure your next experience is better” rather than call us all “very thirsty” and call all 4 of us liars. And As you can see based off of someone else’s one-star review; it’s not that hard to just say sorry and not call your paying customers liars. Absolutely unprofessional and disgusting behavior towards us. I guess someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed.
The waitresses will blatantly ignore you and walk past your table even if they see your drink(or three lololol) is empty and need refilled. Even if they are sat on the edge of the table for them to see, they will still walk past your table and pretend you don’t exist if you aren’t the table that they seated. Waited 10+ minutes for drink refills even AFTER telling a different waitress that we had been waiting. Finally caught a glimpse of our waitress (Kenzy) another 5+ minutes later walking by (after she had been gossiping at the counter with her coworker for a good while and then disappeared back to the back) and she tried brushing us off while walking away while asking if we needed anything. YES WE COULD USE SOME REFILLS. IS IT THAT HARD TO SEE THE CUPS AT THE EDGE OF THE TABLE??!! I said “yes, we’ve been waiting for about 10 minutes now for drinks” and she seemed half annoyed that I even said anything. Finally bringing out new drinks, she left the empty plates at the table along with the empty glasses; thus crowding the table even more than before. I really don’t know if we will come back, but if we do I truly hope the service is a helluva lot better than it was today. Mind you we were 1 of 4 tables, so they were not busy at all. And we were seated by the windows perfectly in view of the front counter for them to see us out of drinks and us looking back at them while they pretended they didn’t notice. Not to mention most of the food seemed old, and was down to damn near scraps on the entrees. Fish and salad bar was the only redeemer. Writing this while sitting at the table- can’t wait to see what they charge for such a lame experience LMAO

Read moreThis restaurant has TONS of potential. We went there for their Valentine's Day (weekend) special to give the place a try for the first time. The wait staff was very friendly and when we arrived it was not busy yet. The restaurant itself is new and clean. The tables were spaced nicely and it was very open and airy.
While we had pre-ordered our Valentine's dinner online, they did not acknowledge this when we arrived. This was not meant to be a negative, but just was awkward when we went order, having the expectation set already.
Our waitress was very outgoing and friendly and we got a peek at the Salad Bar that was enormous and full of a large variety of food. Speaking of food, lets get to the 3 Star food. This is a steak dinner and i chose Potatoes and Broccoli. The dinner came with my choice of dessert, which i chose Bread Pudding. The first impression was when the Dinner rolls came out over cooked and flat. I'm guessing the bread was overproofed. The Caeser Salad was really good. The Romaine lettuce was nicely presented with an awesome Caesar dressing. It definitely changed the experience to positive.
Once the dinner arrived, I was immediately disappointed by the cold potatoes and broccoli. I touched the cast iron dish setting in the wood charger plate. It was cold. Not even heat lamp warm. They actually put once hot food on a cold piece of iron and expected. . . . what.?. I cut my steak and immediately knew it had never seen a tenderizer. There are a half dozen different ways to tenderize meat and this hunk of flesh hadn't seen one of them. The outside was very crispy, albeit over salted, but the heat never saw the inside. I will eat my steak anywhere from rare to well done, until it's too much to chew. And this steak never got to temp (120-140) on the inside. It was hard, chewy, and I'd almost swear there was some gristle in there. Obviously the heat was way too high on this one and i doubt a thermometer was used.
My recommendations would be to actually heat your plates if you want your food to be hot. And some kitchen training in meat preparation and temps.
So why the extra stars if the dinner went south? The bread pudding was the best we've ever had. I didn't have much hope for it when it arrived, but it was perfectly prepared, hot, and the sauce was smooth and not overly sweet. Definitely a recipe to keep using.
Overall, it is worth a second try to see if the kitchen staff is able to step up and match the wait staffs dedication to service. I'd recommend giving it a try, Silo restaurant has great potential, just a few wrinkles to work out, based on our one experience, on a Saturday afternoon.
My wife and i plan on another trip there on a more prime time. I'm sure it will be a more positive experience.
In full disclosure: I did not complain to management or anyone else. I refuse to complain to the wait staff for issues from the kitchen, so no loss of tip and i paid for the meal in its entirety. I believe in paying for the experience, even if it was not a good one. I don't give much credit to people who complain, get a discount, and then...
Read moreDo not EAT here!! I am a retired sous chef that does food reviews.Wish I could have given NO STARS!! First time in and from the moment we sat down the mismanaged drama unfolded!! Very dishonest with customers people were led in by a server and sat at a table KNOWING mashed potatoes and baked potatoes were not going to be served and I listened to the many people ask for them as well my order had to be changed due to them not letting customers know at the hostess station before even getting a chance to leave if they knew certain food items could not be ordered. I had to eat catfish and fries which was 12.00 for 1 overly fried fillet instead of getting potatoes and gravy and chicken which I waNted and trust me my husband's chicken breast was TINY with powdered gravy barely poured over it he had to substitute fries for mashed potatoes .We almost walked out due the deception to Lure people in to keep them. To top it off I listened to over 5 paying customers complain of being charged for potatoes they didn't receive and the Manager needs FIRED for how she spoke to them and Me!!! IN ALL MY 25 years I have never witnessed such lying and rudness to Customers. They gave me 1 piece of burned fish with a tiny portion of fries!! Salty and gross! The back of my fish was placed to not show half the breading fried off it. 31.00 for the 2 meals that left us still Hungry. Watching the manager try To bamboozle paying customers was Uncomfortable to watch and knowing 5 more sitting customers reactions to the same potato issue after all of our was disheartening to hear and know their outcome would be not resolved either. The blond haired manager had NO NAME TAG to identify her by but my picture shown says it all. Worst RESTERAUNT I have been to in my life. Gross fake shortening cups for the burnt bread given and horrible ketchup in plastic greasy bottles! I feel sorry for the young girls serving the waiting customers and telling them the wait for potatoes will be A half hour.. which they never recieved at all and not catching people coming in to let them know and seating them knowing the menu was limited upset us all customers not happy and a very rude manager lady arguing with all those customers..deceptive just for a CASH SALE!! SHAMEFUL! I WITNESSED over 20 customers UPSET @! THE handling of this Issue. Enter at risk! You been warned. Whom ever writes a good review of Du Kum Inn food establishment at this present time is lying about the Place.!!!!!UPDATE!!! They changed their name but its STILL the same old routine. Stay away from this...
