Our family of four arrived at The Village at Palisades Tahoe around 9 PM on December 22, 2024 and we were met with an unexpected and incredible surprise. The one-bedroom condo with a bunkbed den we had booked was unavailable, but Manager Gary went above and beyond by upgrading us to a Premier 3-bedroom Suite. We were beyond grateful and thrilled—what an unforgettable start to our trip!
The location of the suite was unbeatable, just a 1–2-minute walk from the Aerial Tram, Funitel, Base to Base Gondola, and other ski facilities. But the real magic began when we stepped inside. We were welcomed by a cozy and spacious living room with a balcony overlooking the charming sights of the North Face store, festive restaurants, and trees adorned with beautiful Christmas lights.
The high-end kitchen was impeccably clean, featuring stainless steel appliances, and each of the three bedrooms had its own full bathroom, offering both comfort and privacy. The added convenience of an in-unit washer and dryer was a fantastic bonus.
We even had the privilege of hosting friends for a joyful Christmas celebration. A heartfelt thank you to Gary, his team and the room owner for making this trip truly exceptional. We can’t...
Read moreMy partner and I were scheduled to stay at Palisades Tahoe Lodge from March 1-4, 2024. We paid over $2,600 for lodging and were very excited to stay and ski at Palisades. We booked our trip through our American Express card.
A little less than one week before our trip, we saw that a massive snowstorm was on its way to Tahoe. On February 26, we called Palisades to cancel the trip because we knew that the storm would prevent us from driving up to the hotel. Palisades refused to refund our money, citing their 14-day cancellation policy. As the day of the trip drew closer, we tried every day to persuade Palisades to refund our money. Even Palisades Lodge staff told us not to travel up to Tahoe, yet they refused to refund our money. We still have not received the money despite the fact that we never stayed in the hotel.
This was a much anticipated trip and not an insignificant amount of money for us. As a result, we won't choose Palisades Tahoe as a ski destination...

We were, however, disappointed by the quality of the apartment we stayed in (room 130).
At over $1K/night, one would expect reasonable quality if not luxury. The couch was old and filthy. There were repairs to the walls that had not even been painted. While I understand that it was ski week and therefore very busy, this quality for this price was just unacceptable.
What’s more is that the resort called us several days before the trip asking if we had any requests or questions. I asked for a high floor with a view. We were placed in a first floor room looking at the parking lot. Why bother calling to ask if they’re not going honor any part of the request?...
