Tremigo Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar — Restaurant in Tahoe City

We recently dined at this restaurant and were disappointed with the service. Our wait for food extended to an hour without any staff checking on us. Notably, the waitress, who identified herself as the manager, appeared to be consuming alcohol on duty, which seemed unprofessional.When our order arrived, it was incorrect. We decided to leave, but were abruptly presented with the bill and urged to pay. Upon expressing our dissatisfaction with the service and neglect, particularly regarding the lack of water refills, the waitress responded confrontationally. She dismissed our concerns about her drinking on the job, claiming it was a company policy to take shots with customers, whom she referred to as friends.Additionally, when we pointed out the mistake in our order, she denied responsibility. As we were leaving, she accused us of theft, despite the fact that we hadn't consumed the food. This experience was unfortunate and has left us with a negative impression of the establishment.

She let you know upon ordering that the Molcajete Del Mar takes at least 30 minutes to prepare. False Advertising, Disgusting Food, and Shady Business Practices – Avoid at All Costs!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Nothing about this restaurant is honest or sanitary.

First, they falsely advertise a happy hour on their website that doesn’t actually exist. I came in expecting the advertised specials, only to be told by my server, Eliot, that there was no happy hour at all. No explanation, no effort to honor what was advertised—just “we don’t do that.”

Then came my meal, which I specifically ordered without dairy—yet when it arrived, it was covered in sour cream and cheese. I was frustrated but willing to scrape it off myself, until I discovered a hair buried in my food. Disgusting.

When I brought this to Eliot’s attention, he acted completely inconvenienced by my concerns.with just an annoyed attitude like I was the problem. At that point, I no longer felt comfortable eating the rest of my meal, especially since I had ordered shrimp, and this whole experience made me seriously question the cleanliness and food safety standards of this restaurant.

As if all that wasn’t bad enough, I decided not to leave a tip due to the awful service. Then I checked my credit card statement and saw that Eliot had fraudulently added a tip for himself after I had already signed the receipt. That is flat-out theft.

I personally would NEVER go to this spot again if it wasn't for a bartender Alix. I arrived, waited at hostess desk for 10 minutes; NEVER acknowledged by any staff and that right there should have been my clue to leave BUT I walked in sat down at bar where a bartender Kendall came up and asked me What do you want? I was so taken back that this was her greeting that i looked at her and said A menu. I mean who goes to a restaurant and doesn't need one of those. So i then found a drink and appetizer. Drink was good and appetizer was great BUT Kendall NEVER came back to follow up. I had to get silverware and napkins from a bus boy. Kendall was FOCUSED on taking shots on the job with her friends at the bar; she took at least two while i was there. Kendall also got herself a to go drink and soup but never came back to ask if i needed anything and as i was sitting there two other tables came up and had Alix help them also and mentioned that Kendall had never been back to check on them, give them a check, etc. Alix on the otherhand was apolgetic, inquired if we were doing okay, needed anything. Alix was amazing. Shrimp ceviche was fresh, good spice, really flavorful! I think my drinks were called the Holy Mole; i ordered because it had St Germain in it and I am a sucker for that elderflower liquor. My advice, if you get Kendall run!
