We were in the area for my daughter’s 10th birthday and we came here for dinner. We had a party of 11 and I called ahead hours before, to make sure they could seat 11 people with no problem , the girl on the phone assured me that they could. We show up for dinner and only wait like 10 minutes for our table, not bad at all; however when they seat us at the table , it’s absolutely ridiculous and not big enough for our party (if we want to eat comfortably without having each other’s elbows in our plates) so we ask for a bigger table , they suggest that we split up and half of us sit at another table which was not too far away from the original table but far enough that it was inconvenient for us. So eventually we just agree to have some of our party split up to the other table suggested. And as soon as we are able to order , the server lets us know that we are being moved to the bigger table ( okay cool) so that part is over , we’re finally at a good enough size table for our party (should’ve been done in the first place) now we to get to our server who was rude , inefficient spilled water on me and and all he said was “sorry” in the most not sorry way. The food was good and everything came out in good time. When it was time for a birthday cookie with ice cream, the server who brought it out LITERALLY just threw it on the table , said “here’s the birthday cookie” and walked away!! It was so incredibly rude and inconsiderate and just down right disrespectful. Now I have to say everybody in our party was happy with their meal , and I am not one to complain ;however the way the service made me and my family feel definitely deserves 1 star and we won’t be...
Read moreWow, this place pleasantly surpassed my family's and my expectations!! We stayed at The Villages at Palisades Tahoe during their Brews, Jazz, Funk Fest this weekend. My party of 5 adults shared three large entrees:
Pear & Walnut Salad ($19) - mixed greens perfectly tossed with balsamic dressing with juicy pear and candied walnuts; walnuts and Bosc pear were delicious but could have put more than 1/2 pear, fyi comes with gorgonzola cheese if you're not a fan of blue cheese
Thai Curry Chicken Pizza ($36) - made fresh to order, sweet yellow curry base with fresh tomatoes and yellow bell peppers with dollops of mascarpone cheese; the dough was sweet and delicious - i usually don't like to eat crust but i left no scraps, def checks off my crust, sauce, and cheese criteria
Spaghetti Bolognese ($23) - al dente pasta with generous meat portions, creamy sauce but not overwhelmingly heavy
Water - so apparently their water is sourced from the mountains and it was so refreshing and clean, no nasty hard water here
The staff were courteous and welcoming despite the festivities outside and within the restaurant. Inside decorations was cozy and reminded me of a rustic cabin. Ambiance-wise, the table next to us were a bit loud and kept setting off my watch's "Noise Alarm" with decibels reaching 90 (so watch out for young kids??). Parking-wise, there's ample parking within the lot out front - overall, wheelchair accessible but might be difficult in the snow. This place deserves to be a staple if you happen to be in North Lake Tahoe region.
Oh yeah, they charge you a resort fee and some NLT tax so it's so negligible, it's barely...
