Tampa Inn is not somewhere that I would choose to stay at again. It was a last choice place to stay at. The first room given to me was horrible. It smelled like a cigarette hell hole. The bedspread had burn holes and the room smelled dingy and moldy as they keep the temperature on 70° to keep costs down. After 5 hours on the phone with Agoda.com (Don't get this app at all); They are a part of Booking.com... As Agoda couldn't find me another Hotel, my first choice Hotel was never this place at all. It was the Karma Nest Hotel (A lot better choice and awesome place to stay) that was overbooked through Booking.com! We ended up being cancelled by the Karma Nest (unfortunately) due to our dates 5/6 through 5/11/21 not having reservation preference as they were again overbooked. The Karma Nest accommodated us last minute for one day and We were supposed to have reserved the Travelodge at Busch Gardens (Doesn't exist at all after about 1 1/2 hours of searching via Google Maps) to being the same Tampa Inn Hotel... After 5 hours of back and forth rhetoric with Agoda and Booking.com a Spanish Gentleman (maintenance) helped me to acquire a better room at the Tampa Inn. I was okay with the room and We settled in for the next couple of days until tomorrow (5/10) that We leave. It was a little humbling because the Cleaning Staff pair are very, very nice and helpful but the room has it's cons. I made the Staff aware of the shortcomings and they tried their best but the towels are not the greatest, the bathroom and whole facility needs to be upgraded completely for the prices charged daily. I would only pay $30 a night if you ask me not the $80 uncharged that these People want to charge for a less than 1* hotel (in my opinion). It shouldn't even have a * because the whole place needs an updating BADLY! Some of the Maintenance Men Wreak of alcohol a mile away and the handle on the wall inside the bathtub does not adhere to the wall at all, so if you grab it to get up or hold yourself, you'll seriously hurt yourself. There are holes in the walls. The floors still have rugs (ugh), the door to the bathroom is painted with interior flat cheap paint so dirt, fingerprints, etc. is on the door. I mean I could definitely go on. Mind you this is the upgrade to the smoked-in room that I was given prior to this "upgraded" room. The Front Desk Gentleman was good at first and when I complained about the horrible experience with the first accommodation (there was even an incident where a woman was kicked feet away from my "1st room" and a lot of scary drama unfolded as I was on the phone with an Agoda Rep), (Whom heard everything in the background). The Front desk guy tells me, "If you want a better accommodation you will have to pay more!" I was like, "Are you out of your mind?" Then the Puerto Rican Maintenance Man took over and intervened and really calmed me down from almost sure Anger, etc. with this appalling disappointment to say the least. Anyhow, I've observed a lot, kept to myself with just staying inbound or doing quick runs to get something to eat and back to our room and minding my business to the daily residence occurrences. I will be done with this place on 5/10/21 and hope that they seriously do a huge upgrade if they ever want to be a viable and better...
Read moreVERY REAL REVIEW! I know it’s long but PLEASE read before booking here. I want to save someone else the stress and heartache. Any good reviews are either fake or fake. Pros: The A/C was cold Smelled good. I’d love to know what air freshener they used. It smelled good the entire time.
CONS: If you’re homeless and use to sleeping in filth or in the streets, you’ll be fine (sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do). I was so tired upon arriving at this hotel. I actually looked at multiple rooms and this seemed to be the best. It smelled so good! I came in and crashed (clothes and all), not really giving it a second look. I woke up about 2 hrs later and was horrified. The room(s) is beyond filthy, standing water in tub drain, sheets dirty (yes I laid on them unaware), piles and piles of dirt and dust, dead roaches. I walked on the (laminate wood) flooring for 2 minutes and the bottom of my feet were black with dirt. I ran the coffee maker with clean water hoping to just rinse it and brown dirty water came out. I did this because the coffee maker on the outside was dirty. Very unsafe feel, no night latch. The door barely locks and you can see the outside through the cracks. If you have children DO NOT SUBJECT THEM TO THIS. It’s worse than what you’re visualizing. We all like to think maybe someone is exaggerating when they write a review. I promise you I’m not. The outside is no better.
When I called the front desk (explained everything) and told them I will go buy sheets and endure this for one night but will not stay my second night, she said OK. My skin is itching. I’m praying there is no bed bugs. I would leave but most of the hotels in the surrounding area(s) are either booked up or cost $9,000 a night. (Ok I’m exaggerating but you get my drift). I travel a lot and have stayed in 1 to 4 star hotels (never a five 🤗). I can honestly, 100% without a doubt say this is the absolute worse hotel. If you can spend the extra 10, 20, 30, 100 dollars and leave not feeling like you need to bleach yourself and everything you brought in the room, DO IT! The young lady at the desk told the 3rd party when they called there is nothing they can do because housekeeping left already. From the looks of it I didn’t know they had housekeeping. Hopefully I can attach the pictures I took of my room. If not I will find another site, THATS HOW BAD IT IS. I’m a real person, who works hard with a child in college. I know hard times and I rather sleep in my car or in a shelter (God forbid) then stay here. I’m actually in Tampa visiting my daughter in college. This is right across the street from Busch Gardens. Read moreThis is the nastiest place. I walked in and the stink and decor was unbelievable. Went to get my money back manager stated non refundable. I was very tired. I went back to the room I had to keep all the lights on along with the Tv. Luckly I had a blanket with me. I dare not take shower and the toilet looked as if 500+ butts sat on it. The room looks as if it was out of a horrible 60's movie that the motel tried to add lament flooring (poor job) & shower tile to make the room look updated.... What a joke. And it looks as if had been in a fire i.e. Fridge & microwave...please don't use. The walls were dingy and had this big hole that i had to use a towel to cover it up because I thought something might crawl out of it. Used a bottled water to brush my teeth by the way. Before you book your room please view. This is a hole in a wall and u should not bring children or pets...they might catch something. This motel needs to be torn down. I was robbed of my rest, dang I really need it. However, if u are looking for a one night cheap a$$ motel, I guess this is the place. Be advised i don't recommend and I am going to contact corporate on Monday. Managers customer service was just awful..... Added training is needed. I don't give it 1 star I took pictures just back up my story. I'm just a Customer Service Represenative and I always say: When a customer see the beauty of his want & need he will enjoy their pleasures. Some companies don't value the Customers pleasures. It's just business. When I calm down situations, I just stand firm and some may call me nice/nasty, it's just the way I handle business, anywhoot when a customer can walk in a store and none of the employees speak to her and she thinks in her head; now it on. That person walked in your store because you had her pleasures.. and you managed to turn her away that meant she wasn't what you need for business... But that customer could have returned enough times to pay your commission and you say in your 1 is not enough... But her 1 over time can become growth because she will in turn be a REPEAT CUSTOMER WHICH IS A VALUED CUSTOMER. Maybe I'm not cut out for cut throat companies maybe I'm just for the people. So PLEASE CLEAN IT UP!!!! If you need help I will gladly come on board and we can use this as the best test sight. All for the community and the some of the proceeds will build an apartment community rehab facility to get the people what they pleasure you can rebuild...
