Nothing fancy but most definitely came in clutch for late night/early morning eats.
A group of 8 New Yorkers leaving Busch Gardens at closing Halloween weekend, we were borderline “Fright Night Hangry”. After a couple of Yelp/google searches ended in dismay due to either being closed or health code concerns upon arrival. The mob was about to become severely undone, I mean a scene from a horror movie if food wasn’t consumed soon. Then one last search and someone finds FBE and they are open to 4am. This was great news to a group of NYers, who are admittedly spoiled when it comes to getting whatever whenever. Time of day is not usually a concern for us.
We called to confirm that they were in fact open and both cars headed over. Not only open, but open and busy both inside and drive-thru. The staff was pleasant and welcoming as they dealt with steady flow in person and over the phone. The place it's not big but does provide some tables and booths for dine-in.
Everyone ordered and waited. With only a couple ppl on staff some tables were delayed in getting cleaned. But we found a couple that we were able to sit at. Everyone pretty much ordered wings and fries with a few extra things here and there.
I went with lemon pepper wings fried well with fries and a mint lemonade. The wings were cooked to my liking and they were not salty. Which I was extremely happy about. Some lemon pepper rubs are too heavy on the salt.
My first experience with mint lemonade was in Cartagena Colombia, and then secondly Mombasa Kenya. So when I saw it on the menu I was both excited and skeptical. Not knowing what I would end up with, this is not a fancy establishment to be honest, so I was sure to manage both my nostalgia and expectations. Surprisingly it was good and practically spot on.
Overall a decent spot, open late and will calm the hanger.
Just A Note:
-It was 2 or 3AM and I failed to take a single pic… Failure on my behalf.
-How does the saying go… “Don’t judge a book by the cover.” This was one of our least expensive/no frills dinning experiences on this trip and probably the...
Read moreI’ve eaten at four brothers 3 times now and their food is consistently terrible and I don’t mean that to be offensive but it really is. I’ve eaten the shawarma and falafel and they both tasted gross the flavor was just not good. I’ve eaten the bbq bacon hamburger which I had asked for medium and it was cooked well done, very bland, the bun was really spongey and didn’t feel like bread, the bacon seemed like turkey bacon? I didn’t read that it was but it definitely seemed like it and if it was they need to mention that because of allergies. I’ve also eaten the philly cheese steak (looked NOTHING like the picture on the menu) which was again very bland and had barely any meat in it at all, it was cut in half and I started with one half took two bites and there was no meat left on that half at all just bun and peppers. My fiancé has eaten the gyro and said it was bland and didn’t seem fresh. Fiancé also ate the chicken Alfredo (which the worker said was really good) the chicken was over cooked and the sauce was super bland, tasted like a really bad buttered noodles. The crispy fries are good but when I had my burger it came with non crispy fries which I didn’t even know they had.... I was expecting the ones I’ve been getting since I ate there and it wasn’t, they definitely need to mention that when customers order. And the only other thing that is good is the sweet tea. So yea pretty terrible food... they need to start seasoning their food and using better...
Read moreThis is usually a good place to eat and I go there probably about every other week or more. Most visits are on point and the food is good, good service and all. However this time was in my opinion very poor. First off I sat in the Drive-Thru line about 10 minutes which is not good but a little wait until is kind of expected because they say they make all the food as you order it. But when I got to the window there was a bag of food sitting on the counter little did I know that it was actually my food. So I'm sitting there watching them deal with customers inside everything else when somebody finally does come to the window they don't know what the order is or where it's at. After about 3 minutes they come to find out it was my food sitting on the counter. So now my food has been sitting on the counter for over 10 minutes. I asked them when they go to hand it to me is it still hot they said yes. I feel the bottom of the pan and it does feel a little bit warm so not trying to make a scene I took it and left. When I got home 5 minutes later I go to eat and the food is cold. So it was getting cool or was cold when it was...
