Pros: cheaper than other major hotels, not far from tourist strip and beach, pool, air conditioned, spacious room, nice view (at least my room looked over the ocean), ABC Store and Jamaican Grill nextdoor, close to Ypao Beach Park, shuttle bus stop near when running, easy walk to Kmart. Slept relatively well. TV works. Bar fridge. Cons: I arranged for them to pick me up from the hotel. They said $15. I confirmed again, and they reconfirmed. I also sent a last minute message before leaving my country, stating I would be waiting at the airport. When I arrived at the airport in Guam, they were not waiting for me. I looked around and couldn't find them. I waited and waited, and nothing. Eventually someone took pity on me and asked if I was looking for something, so I told them I was waiting for the hotel shuttle. He told me to ask someone else, who actually worked for other hotels, not that one. She let me use her phone to call them. I had just arrived, so couldn't use my own phone and there were no pay phones at the airport that I could see. I called and they said sorry that the driver hadn't shown up for work and would be late. I asked how late, and they were vague and told me to just take a taxi. I took a taxi. It was $20. I also booked a ride to the airport at the end of my trip. They also quoted $15. In the end, they said they couldn't drive me, so told me to get a taxi. At least they called the taxi for me. Again $20. It's not the money which was the problem, but that they said they would pick me up and drop me off, but just left me waiting on arrival, then last-minute told me to catch a taxi to the airport. Why? House cleaning didn't do anything the first two days of my trip for some reason. The air conditioning was fine other than the controls mean nothing. It is always on and always the same temperature and power, no matter what you do to the dials. Neighbours were a little noisey. The bathtub lacked a plug, so had to ask for one twice. When it arrived, it didn't fit well. Considering the service, the price was too high for the room. The pool was closed one day and is too shallow and small. There is no direct beach access and they suggest walking through the property of the abandoned hotel across the street, but that access is actually closed. They had timetables for the Tumon Shuttle, so I waited for that my first full day there, and it was unclear where the stop was. I went in to double check and they said that the shuttle isn't running due to the typhoon aftermath. Why have schedules, basically advertising a bus that doesn't exist? At least put a sign saying the shuttle bus is temporarily not running or something. Pretty weak water pressure in the shower. WiFi was very weak and I usually...
Read moreAfter booking here the last minute, I read the review and changed my mind. Unfortunately, there's no refund so we are stuck. I figured, we can just give it a try and have plan B to change hotel on the next day. ||Upon check-in, our receptionists was young yet professional and friendly. It was busy with line of tourist awaiting to check-in. However, we didn't have to line up with the crowd as we were taken by another person on a separate area. No line. So our check-in was a breeze, which was already a plus. The staff was always cheerful, chatty and helpful. They even holler from the distance to say good luck to my son who was on his way to his Jiujitsu tournament one day. I thought that was cool of them to acknowledge that. Our room was lit, nicely decorated and comfortable, with 2 full beds. Everything was clean and had everything we needed - fridge, TV, etc. The bathroom was clean, full of amenities; shower with strong pressure and hot water. The parking was convenient for us who rented a car for the weekend and it's free. I like that I can just get in and out without having to worry where to park or pay for parking. The parking is also covered, within the hotel building. Really convenient esp. it was raining that weekend. There's a couple of fun restaurants in the building too, one is gaming bar with music. The other one was Tony Roma's which we went for dinner one night. We had guest who came to visit us and we sat at the lobby talking while enjoying the music from that gaming bar. It was an overall an upbeat ambience. ||We end up staying our entire stay of 2 nights and 3 days. We will definitely stay here again soon for our son's next BJJ...
Read moreOverall it can be said to be a very bad experience. I don't have the habit of writing hotel reviews, but I still can't help but complain about a bad experience one night.
First of all, the overall hygiene of the hotel is extremely poor. I don’t know if the hotel is really cleaned seriously. There is a layer of dust in the bathtub, the water-retaining tiles in the shower room have completely fallen off, the ceiling in the bathroom is already damp and blistering, and the baseboards are all damp and loose. The disposable supplies in the bathroom were also used by the previous guest, and the towels were damp and smelly. The hotel sheets and quilts had mold spots and lots of stains. The floor is not clean enough.
In addition, although the hotel looks like it is on the seaside, it is not along the beach. When I asked the hotel front desk if I could go to the beach, he said that I could go along the side path of the PIC, but in fact this path was abandoned and blocked. The area around the hotel is not safe either. There are many homeless people wandering around around 8:30 pm, including many who are smoking marijuana.
The hotel facilities are also terrible. There is a strong smell of marijuana in the hotel corridor, and the hotel air conditioner is full of damp mold smell. It is difficult to sleep at night. The sound insulation effect of the room is extremely poor. The conversation next door at 5:30 in the morning can wake people up.
In addition, when booking on booking, it was shown that this hotel has a shuttle bus that can take you to the airport. This is part of the reason why I chose this hotel. But the front desk told me that there is no shuttle bus anymore and they can only call taxis for passengers, which is also at their own expense. This is outrageous and unacceptable, because taxis in Guam are very expensive. Even if it is less than 3km from the airport, a taxi at your own expense will cost you US$25. After factoring in the price difference, this hotel is not affordable.
