Pleased to get a new casual dining spot in this end of the Tumon neighborhood, especially one that is family/veteran owned restaurant instead of more corporate fare. Great to finally have someone take this spot inside the Royal Orchid Hotel 🏨
The opening menu has a good variety of appetizers, hot dogs🌭, stuffed burgers 🍔 and even a blackened salmon rice bowl. Decided to try a couple of appetizers to try more of the menu; wings as a measuring stick and the collie-flower crunch for something different. Wings were cooked well and had lots of meat on the bone 🍗 They were tossed in the house Stray sauce which is creamy with a touch of heat. I enjoyed it but will be excited to see what other flavors may arrive, as I’m not big on creamy sauces. Although I think it will be popular with the local palate 🇬🇺 Collie-flower crunch was a nice surprise. It’s tossed in their Boonie sauce which is not overly sweet and just a bit of spice. Probably would be nice on the wings too. They offer sides of the sauce to order. There are several menu items
Read moreI was lucky to get an invite to Boonies Barkade N Bristo as they near opening. You could tell the Boonies’ team was excited to get the doors open. The service was great and the staff’s smiles were as big as the other customers.
The menu was limited to get the kitchen geared up towards the upcoming opening. I cannot wait for the full opening to sample the tasty treats they will be cooking up.
Today, we had Stray Glazed Wings, BLT Taco, and some fries. It was the perfect size for the two of us. The taco was loaded with bacon! All were cooked great and tasted even better.
The atmosphere was amazing. Games, good food, and great friends filled Boonies. From pool tables, to cornhole; shuffleboard and so much more; there was plenty of entertainment.
No doubt, I’ll be there as soon as they open. Highly recommend checking it out!
Update: Opening date will be March 1st, 2023!
Got to check it out again with a few new menu items. Loved the Collie-flower Crunch! Great sauce with a slight heat to it. Definitely try it out. Stuffed burger goodness with sweet potato fries was great. We went for the mozz & jals. Will definitely get this again. And, can't go wrong with mozzarella sticks. Calamansi cocktail and blueberry lychee mojito were also great. Looking forward to the final opening!

TL;DR: come for the burgers, stay for the games & new friends.
What I loved: • Games galore – mini-bowling, darts, billiards, air hockey, arcade classics. Instant throwback to being 12… only with a craft beer in hand. • Super-friendly staff – they’re basically island concierges. New to Guam or just visiting? Ask for snorkel tips, hiking spots, or the best place to grab finadene after midnight. They’ve got you. • Self-pour beer wall = choose-your-own-adventure pints. • Locals actually talk to you here! I walked in solo and left with a karaoke duet partner and a future hiking buddy.
Pro tips: Garlic-parm fries are non-negotiable. Book the private karaoke room before the liquid courage wears off. Weekends fill up fast—show early if you want first crack at the mini-bowling lanes.
Bottom line: If “food + fun + friendly” is your vibe, Boonies is your new HQ in Tumon. See you at...
