The owner is a very sweet old lady. She was very friendly. Her daughter however is very nosy and rude. Watched her "doing cleanup" as she was basically peeking into the cabins and trying to see what guests were doing. The cameras everywhere make it feel like you have to worry about your stuff. ALSO, bring your own firewood so the daughter doesn't complain that you're "using it all up", although what you pay to stay there aught to cover it. The cabins are decent, but for the price there really needs to be a huge overhaul on updates. Outlets aren't grounded and there are very few even in the cooking area. Doors don't fully shut to rooms and not being able to open windows is a problem. The beach is really nice, until you get to the shoreline. ROCKS, ROCKS ROCKS. Obviously it's somewhat out of their hands but you need water shoes for the kids or something else when you come. Overall it was a DECENT to check...
Read moreYoung's Resort is our 'go-to' place up north, and we stay there 3 to 4 times each summer. The cabins are extremely clean, comfortable, and welcoming - both inside and out. The resort is right on Tawas Bay, which makes it hard for us to leave this peaceful, beautiful place for a day's outing, but then it's fun to return 'home.' The town of East Tawas is adorable, and Tawas State Park is close by. There are many restaurants and walking/hiking trails just a brief drive from the resort.
My husband and I discovered Young's several years ago and have been hooked ever since. Most of the guests we meet at the resort have been coming there for 10, 15, or 20-plus years. It's a special community. Suzie and Mary are wonderful hosts and have created a slice...
Read moreMy wife and two kids stayed here for a week in August, along with my father-in-law and sister-in-law in an adjoining cabin. I was a bit apprehensive at first when I saw how small the cabins are, but I LOVED my week at Young's.||Suzanne is an amazing host, and her property is extraordinarily clean and well-kept. The beach is beautiful and is absolutely the highlight of the property. The cabins have a full kitchen, a double bed, a futon, a bathroom with a shower, and a TV (which we never used). Outdoors, each cabin gets a picnic table and a charcoal grill. ||Young's is a 5 minute drive to downtown East Tawas, and another 5 minutes to the State Park. There's plenty to do around town, and this is the perfect place to set up for a vacation.||We will...
