My stay here was a disaster and huge disappointment. I brought my family here Memorial Day in there 2 bedroom suite.
The room was nice, but needed a little elbow grease with the cleaning. Just eyesores and rust spots around and little things that could be fixed, no biggie. The tv didn’t work in the kids bedroom which was an inconvenience, but after trying for a while to fix it, the manager, Paul, came down to look and said he needed a part, but it was late so we just asked him to comeback the next day.
Fast forward to the first morning we wake up, the bathroom is covered in ants. Please look at the pictures, because when I say covered I mean the entire bathroom is covered in ants; the floors, the walls, the sink, the shower. The ants are clearly coming out of the walls and they attracted to a towel that was lying on the floor from cleaning up a spill. Now, I know that it happens, but we are the same people whether we’re in a hotel or at home and we have never had an ant or pest issue.
When I call the front office there’s really no sense of urgency. I have to call three different times and finally I have to walk up there because no one is coming down to see what’s going on. Finally, the lady at the front desk walks back to my room with me and opens up the vacant room next to us so that we can use the bathroom. I didn’t appreciate the inconvenience, and I asked for a new room and was told that they don’t have another two bedroom to accommodate my whole family. I can understand that so, I explain to the staff that I don’t need a new room all I asked was that they clean the room with full service once the exterminator comes. After that I was told that they do have another room and they’ll get it ready and when we return from our outing to stop by the front desk for the new key.
Six hours later I stop by the front desk for the new key and I’m told that they don’t have another room and they have exterminated the pests and cleaned my current room. The young lady at the front desk walks back with me she says let me go in first so I can pick up the towels because they said they left a few towels. When we walk in the room nothing has changed the room has been cleaned in no way, there is a graveyard of ants in which they just sprayed bug spray on and left. All of the same towels that created the infestation are still there and there’s literally just dead bugs all over the bathroom and it’s disgusting.
The lady asked me to meet her back at the front desk. After a few minutes I walk in and the young lady and the manager, Paul, are having a discussion about me. Paul is explaining to her that the issue was my own fault and that the room was clean and clearly I am fabricating an issue just because I want a new room or I want to create some type of conflict to get something in my benefit. I corrected Paul and let him know that his associate witness that there was no cleaning done to the room, period. Paul, continued to argue with me to which I let him know that was extremely unprofessional and that he needed to just fix the issue. Miraculously they now have another room available. We get settled in the room and I notice a note from the front desk that says that the entire trip will be covered and there’s a couple bottles of water for my family. I’m frustrated, but I appreciate the gesture. The next morning coincidentally all of the television shut off at the same time and it was mentioned by the front desk staff Paul was the only one who knows how to fix the televisions. While I’m not trying to insinuate anything, it does seem odd that we have bad blood and then TVs all of a sudden don’t work and Paul would have to come down and fix them. It was odd and made me uncomfortable so we just checked out. Finally, I was still charged for this stay and I called the corporate office at Marriott and open the case. I found out later that Paul went in and closed the case himself and I never received a call. The issue is still...
Read moreStayed at the Towne Place Suites Tempe at Arizona Mills Mall April 21 - April 29 because it was close to where we had to take care of business and no other places were available. As Marriott owners we have stayed at a number of places and this is only the 2nd bad experience we have had in 17 years , I would not ever stay again unless major manitance improvements are made. We had a 2 bedroom suite that was all that was available. The overall room size and layout were nice, however there was nothing in the kitchen I would use. The dishwasher, when opened would literally pull away from the side of the wall, it was not secure. Not a matching dish, glass or bowl in the kitchen. The refrigerator was the only thing we used, to place drinks or food. In the bedroom, beds were comfortable, nice desk to work at. However the closet door came off when my husband opened it. Lucky for them he is handy and was able to put it back on track. When we checked in we were told the towels would be changed every 2 days. We came on a Sunday and Tuesday we received clean towns. After that I waited a couple days and no towels. I went back to person who checked us in and asked her what she said about towels being changed and she said every 2 days. I told her that had not been done. There is a charge for parking and almost every light was out that was suppose to lite the pathway, most held together by duck tape. Trash was set in the hallway for them to take , I guess they were suppose to get trash when the towels were replaced every 2 days. You can do your laundry which was convenient, however if you loose any money good luck in trying to get it back. The 1st washer I tried did not work but I was charged $3.00. I went to front desk and was told to call Phoenix Laundry service the place that supplies the washers and dryers. Called April 26 and up until May 3,2024 and still waiting for a call back. I did received a text asking for me to supply some information on May 10,2024. Today is May 28,2024 have not heard a word or see any credit on my credit card. If the Management of the Towne Place Suites was concerned with excellent service they would have credited my bill 3.00 and they deal with Phoenix Laundry later, not the guest. But that was not the case. I could not believe this was a property Marriott would have their name on, this place would be a gold mine if they took care of the property. Each room needs updated furniture, especially in the living room. In the bathroom you could see where they had painted , dropped paint on floor and never really cleaned it up, white paint stains on floor. Other things needed to be fixed also. The only thing that was very good about this place was the breakfast every day. The person who was in charge of breakfast did an excellent job each day (M-F). Lobby area was clean. Hedges were neatly trimmed. I did see a few people in the pool so that may have been ok. When we left the Towns Place Suites we went to a place we usually stay. It was like night and day. If you looking for a cheap place with a good breakfast this is it. If you looking for a place to relax in your room away from the hustle and bustle this is not the place. I read some of the 4 and 5 star reviews and they must have been at a different place, not the TownePlace Suite Tempe at...
Read moreWe were told that there was a free airport shuttle for my wife. I called the day before our stay to make sure we notified them of her need for a shuttle to be at the airport at 5:05 am, for a 6:05 am flight on the day of our checkout. The front desk person, Erica, said that there was no shuttle driver until 7 am on Saturdays, which no one had said when we made the reservation. She said she would contact her manager and that there would be a good chance the driver could come in early and take her to the airport, and she would call back shortly. After 4 hours, I called back to see why I received no return phone call about the shuttle, and she apologized and said that her manager was in a meeting all afternoon, but would be out soon. I waited 2 more hours without a call, and then called back to cancel the reservation, because I found another accommodation elsewhere. She said she still had not heard back from her manager, and he was still in the "meeting," and by then it was 8:30 pm, and we did not want to go to bed and not find out about the shuttle, and then not be able to cancel the reservation without getting charged for the room. Then just before we went to bed we got a call from Erica saying her manager had talked to the shuttle driver, and that he would come in early and could take my wife to the airport by 5:05 am on Saturday. We re-made our reservation, and cancelled the new one we had just made at the other Hotel. When we checked the next day, the girl at the front desk, I think her name was something like Valeria, asked us if we wanted a 1st, 2nd or 3rd floor room. I asked if we could get a quiet room, away from noise, and she said the the first floor down the hall from the front desk would be the quietest. I asked and confirmed the shuttle driver would be there at 4:30 am to drive my wife to the airport. In the morning my wife went to the front desk to meet the driver, and he was not there, and she had to wait while they kept trying to call him, and eventually they got her a taxi cab instead, which was a bit stressful because of concern of being able to make it to the airport on time. On top of that, I stayed in bed to get some more sleep, and the supposed "quiet" room we were given turned out to be right next to the pool area, and by 8 am there were many parents and screaming children right outside the window at the pool. I checked out much earlier than my planned late checkout I had arranged, and when I told the new girl at the front...
