Where is the ZERO STAR option?!? Shady business practices and horrific hotel.
Tried checking in early and person behind the desk wanted $30 CASH to do that. Clearly didn’t since that seemed like questionable behavior.
Checked in after spring training and music festival around 11pm later that day. Long day and wanted to sleep. Got to the room and what a “wonderful” surprise. All we wanted to do was sleep since we were checking out in about 8 hours and it had been a long day. The hotels were also full and didn’t think there were other rooms available based on checking in as well.
Lamp on table between beds didn’t work (power) Didn’t have light bulbs. Tried to use facet in bathroom and cold water barely worked but the hot did. . But the “BEST” part was the shower handle in the side of the tub which had been pulled off. At that point it was so late and we were so tired we just wanted to sleep.
Went to check out and told Andy at the front desk. He said it was our own fault for not asking for a new room at midnight and he couldn’t give us a discount (I paid $180 for the night). He offered us the next night discounted but, we were checking out to head to airport for home, did not seem like a logical solution. The maintenance guy behind the desk said “oh room 222, it’s not working and I put a note in the system not to use it, it shouldn’t be used”. Andy said the manager would call me since there was nothing HE could do. Naturally no phone call.
To be clear, we were not even asking for a full refund, simply a partial since we did sleep there but couldn’t take a shower.
I booked it though Expedia and filed a complaint. When they spoke to the hotel, the hotel said they offered us a replacement room but we didn’t accept it so they did their part. ….I think they were referring to when we were checking out heading to the airport but not sure. They denied an accountability in renting out a room that shouldn’t have been given to guests. Refused to admit how bad the room was or their ability to do anything about.
In addition, The lobby of the hotel was “under construction” meaning things were all torn apart but no work to actually renovate it. No breakfast or any amenities.
The hotel is in the back parking lot to a “cabaret” and next to a dispensary. I don’t think people would even pay for the room by the hour, it was that bad, well also no functioning shower!
Over all this was false advertising, fraudulent and shady behavior and it certainly doesn’t meet the Ramada basic hotel chain standards. When I called Ramada to place a complaint, they said it was booked through another service and to talk to them. Shameful and disappointing.
Cannot overstate how this was the WORST stay I’ve had in my life with the more difficult and questionable...

They ultimately didn’t offer any type of breakfast. Lobby signs stating charging $30 for each 30 min after the 11am checkout time. I was thankful that I was leaving first thing in the morning as I didn’t want to stay at this motel/hotel any longer than I had to. Shower: The water pressure was so incredibly low. The cooler the water temp got, the lower the pressure got, but even then, the “hot” water pressure was too hot to take a shower. It was better suited for steaming Top Ramen noodles. If I were you, I’d only take a shower to get your body wet. If you use any kind of shampoo/body wash, you’ll need an additional 30 min of shower time to make sure that it’s all rinsed off. I opted not to take a shower. Linens: The wash cloth could have been mistaken for a square of toilet paper. It was that thin. Jail inmates probably have thicker linens. The “shower” towel was slightly larger than a hand towel All of the lamp shades were all tore up/dusty The drawers for your clothes didn’t close properly. The TV remote was all busted up, but worked Mattress springs, I probably would have been more comfortable sleeping on the floor or on a chair. There was an ironing board, but no iron There was a coat rack, but no hangers from which to hang anything. Vending and ice machines were out of order The wooden shades in the room didn’t block out all of the exterior light. The light would come in through the blinds, bounce off the mirror, then project onto the bed, which made it impossible to sleep, if you could even sleep at all with the worn out mattress springs poking you in your back and sides. I probably would have been more comfortable sleeping in the floor or in a chair. Checked out at 6:30 am; front desk personnel was asleep with headphone’s on. He didn’t respond when I said “good morning”
For a hotel/motel that is part of the Wyndham brand, I expected more. I got the vibe that this motel was/is used for more long-term guests who may be getting subsidized housing from the city/state. If you have the option to stay any where else, choose that other option. If this was the last motel that had vacancy, I’d rent a car and sleep in it. Yes, it truly is that bad.
This motel/hotel needs a major influx of cash fast from Wyndham corp to bring the motel/hotel up to the Wyndham quality. As of right now, I’m really hedging my bets as to if I want to stay with this hotel brand ever again.

Read moreI booked a hotel stay for 3/22/24 at the Ramada by Wyndham Tempe/Arizona Mills Mall.
I can tolerate shabby rooms in need of maintenance. My issue is being lied to. I specifically booked this hotel (and paid a higher price than the competitors) because it had a breakfast included.
I called the front desk on the evening of 3/22 to see what time breakfast started. I was told it was 6:00a. We arrived at 6:30a. Upon arrival we were told by the person at the front desk that there is no breakfast due to a mechanical issue in the kitchen. (Lie #1)
I ask what mechanical issue could possibly cause not being able to assemble a grab and go bag for us? He had no answer. I asked to speak to the manager, he said the manager was not on site. I requested the manager be called and he said it was too early to disturb him.
This forced us to go out and purchase breakfast.
I contacted Wyndham customer service on 3/30 to complain. Later I received an email response that the hotel ALWAYS has a grab and go breakfast. (Lie #2)
I have called the hotel several times to talk to the manager who is never there and the staff has no clue when he will be. I have left two messages and have not had a return call back. So I emailed the hotel.
They emailed that they had grab and go breakfast (Lie #3) and that they have me on video getting coffee. This is impossible, since I don’t drink coffee and this would be (Lie #4).
I forwarded this lie about getting coffee and a photo of me to Wyndham so they could request a copy of the photo from the hotel. Since it does not exist, this would confirm the hotel is the one lying.
This hotel is acting in an unethical manner to increase their profits by not providing what people paid for. Advertising a breakfast followed by a bait and switch by not providing what I paid for. This is followed up by the front desk and manager lying to Wyndham and their customers. Wyndham and the hotel have done nothing. My only recourse is to write this...
