Let me start by saying the housekeeping staff was so nice, friendly, & accommodating, especially the lady with the curly blond-grey hair and grey (I think they were grey lol) eyes. The hotel is decent enough, the 2 rooms my family & I were in were very clean & everything worked properly. The reason this hotel gets 2 stars from me is because of mine & my family’s personal experience. We unfortunately were displaced by Hurricane Harvey so we ended up here. We paid for about 5 or 6 nights then FEMA kicked in & paid for our stay. We were first there until September 26th then we got an extension from FEMA until October 10th. On October 9th, I asked whatever girl was at the front desk if our room had been extended & she told me they hadn’t heard anything from FEMA so no, they weren’t doing the extensions. That wasn’t a problem because that was the same thing that happened the first time so we thought it would be ok. What the hotel didn’t tell us is that they weren’t even accepting the vouchers anymore. While I am aware it is up to the hotel to say yes or no, I feel like this is very inconsiderate. They know the area we live in, they know what happened. I have a 4 month old (she wasn’t yet 3 months when Harvey came) & they wouldn’t even allow us to PAY for 2 more nights because they had “no more rooms to extend”, even though we were already in the room. They definitely could have given us a heads up, they knew my family and myself all work (it’s me, my boyfriend, our baby, & my parents) & that moving with a baby isn’t easy. I don’t need pity, I don’t want an apology, I’m simply here to give my rating based on what my family & I experienced. I really truly hope none of these ladies are ever displaced from their homes & forced to...
Read moreI have spent many night at Best Western Plus hotels and was very disappointed at this location. When I booked a King Jacuzzi suite online I was shocked to find that what I received was a King size bed in a regular room with a jacuzzi. I called 1-800 Best Western and they agreed that a "Suite" was a larger room(basically almost two room size with pull out sofa and extra table and larger kitchen area. I had booked this type of room before and wa shocked that they were calling a regular room size a "suite". The 1-800 agreed that it was incorrect but that since they had only verbally told me it was a suite and had not put the word "suite on the receipt that I was stuck unless I wanted to go about 75 miles to another hotel with the same type of room! The carpet was old and "smelled". The breakfast was one of the worst I ever had. The computers in the business center did not work correctly and if I wanted to use the printer(it was broken) I had to send to the front desk clerk to be printed(I did not want clerk to know my private information !). Only time I have ever had a jacuzzi tub and there were no towels or mats or soap laid out on tub area. My bed did not have a bedspread!!!!! It was made with a sheet and a thin blanket.. We had to go ask for blankets!! Two of the lamp shades were not bolted to the lamps, so that when you reached to turn them on you kept knocking the shade off the lamp. Worst ever. I feel like they stole my money. I was promised a "suite" and received a regular room. Also, noticed that the other hotels(2) next door had many more cars in their lots than did the Best Western. Maybe everyone else knew...
Read moreI’ve stayed at this location off and on for the past couple weeks. It’s quiet, typically well kept, and the front desk attendant during my previous stays was very nice. Now, this may be a one off but if something can happen once it can definitely happen again. My recent stay had some minor issues. The first room I was put in smelled of smoke even though the hotel has a 100% no smoking policy, it wasn’t cleaned well, the tub drain was damaged so there was standing water, and multiple pieces of furniture that would usually be in the room were missing. So I requested a room change. I’m in my new room. I’ve cleaned (I clean every hotel room I’m in) and settled in. Around 8 or so I hear the sound of a key card opening a door and assumed it was next door. Nope, they assigned another guest to my room who opened the door and walked in as I was completely exposed. I was puzzled because I secured the lock on the door thinking that would prevent unwanted entry, but I guess not. Later I got up to go to the rest room and noticed a roach crawling on the floor. Now, let me say this. They were finishing a construction project on my floor and I know that can bring out pests. It was only one so that’s hardly indicative of an infestation, but of course I was shocked to see it. This doesn’t necessarily mean I won’t be back, but réglese are definitely things to note. I did mention the guest walking on me to the night attendant, but there seemed to be little to no concern. But hey, it’s a Best Western not a...
