Jack in the Box — Restaurant in Texas City

Was very disappointed with my experience there this morning. I went through the drive thru on my way to work and the first thing I noticed was a paper handwritten sign on the speaker saying cash only/credit card machine is broke, and while sitting out in the rain giving my order the woman on the speaker said what did you say? So I repeated it even louder so she could hear me over all the birds chirping on the driveway. Then she just said "Okay". I sat there a few minutes thinking that she was still entering the order because nothing came on the screen nor did she acknowledge that she had understood me that time either. Finally after hearing nothing else from her I pulled on up to the window. While I was sitting there watching her make my coke I heard her say very loudly and rudely to another employee "She probably gonna pull out a credit card now!" Since I could see that they had no other customers (wonder why), I knew she was talking about me. When she opened the window I told her that I heard her and no I wasn't fixing to pull out a credit card. She looked surprised that I heard her and say "sorry", but I was already aggravated and I told her that I thought she was very rude and that I would report her and I left and went across the road to Whataburger for a much better...

The food was tasty and warm and the drive-thru wait wasn't bad at all.

I never think to go here and hadn't been in over a year. I'm hooked now. The Tiny Tacos are So Good and I think it is a fair price ($3.50 for 15). It's right down the road from my work so I will definitely be stopping in frequently on my lunch breaks for a "treat". I've heard very good things about their Sweet Cream Ice Coffees so I gave it a try. It was just okay. I got the Vanilla one. Nothing I would necessarily get again, but I wasn't disappointed either.

The dining room was closed due to staffing shortages and for social distancing. There was a sign on the door but it was on the bottom half of the door so I didn't even notice it until I had walked up to the door and wondered why it was locked. The sign blended in as advertisement so I was a little disappointed that they didn't make it more clear that the dining room was closed.

But overall I was very satisfied. I went once (my first time in over a year to any Jack in the Box location) and have since gone back in less than a week. I wish they would have put out coupons in flyers or something to have gotten back in there sooner because I feel like I've been...

We don't have Jack in the Box in Arkansas, but I love JITB....except this one...or, at least, this experience. I went through the drive thru about 4pm and ordered a Sourdough Jack meal. The guy at the window was smacking gum and lacked even the little professionalism you expect in a fast food drive thru. I waited about 4 minutes for my food thinking it was being made fresh. My fries tasted like they had been under the lamp for at least an hour, but the burger was good. I am not a fan of the Freestyle Coke machine as it seems to pick up all previous flavors on its way to my cup...the Coke tasted funny. Overall a two star experience.

Edit: I have visited twice sincey last review. This location is the absolute slowest fast food restaurant I have ever been to. Different times, different days, it is always slow.
