I am from toledo but now live in Nashville TN when I come to visit, red roof inn secor is my choice of stay. I work remote so I get a king suite with desk. The prices are reasonable and internet is great for working remote. I have never ever ever had any issues with red roof inn. Tonite 2/31/2021 at about 10:20pm I come to town for a funeral on tuesday so I have to work remote tomorrow. I went to get a room and was denied. The guy employee said when he ran my license it came back that I was banned from this hotel by the GM for playing loud music in the parking lot out of my car. I was trying to explain that they have the wrong person. I was then trying to get more information like who to call, dates of incident and whatever else I needed to resolve this because it was the first time I've heard of it. I have no emails, letters or anything about banning me from this hotel. I didn't speak to anyone about an incident at any red rood hotels. Instead the employee told me I'm not suppose to be on the property. So I asked him how was I supposed to know I'm trespassing if I never heard of this incident. He then threatened to call the police because he said I was tresspassing. I told him to call them because I done nothing wrong. Trying to get to the bottom of something I'm being accussed of and knew nothing about was not wrong. I am a 48 year old man. I'm a computer technician and my wife is a lawyer. We don't rent out hotel rooms and party, smoke etc. We work work work. I am so disappointed in how I was treated. I will never stay at this or any red roof inn hotels. I am canceling my membership. Not just because I am being accussed of something I have no knowledge of and denied a room. Buit mainly how unprofessional the employee was and how disrespectful he was. I just want information on the incident and he got loud and threaten to call the police and then said he's pressing charges cause I told him to go ahead and...
Read moreI booked a room here as we were driving from North Carolina to Michigan for a long weekend getaway. I thought the 3 stars would make this motel nicer but it didn't. On the positive side the shower was clean and had good water pressure. Also seeing the neighborhood the next morning it seemed decent. That's about it. In fairness, this Red Roof Inn is in the process of repairing/renovating the building so the exterior is a mess. There is stucco that has fallen away (or manually broken away in preparation for repair) and bags of concrete or whatever it was, but there is also a fair amount of trach in the hallways. There was a plastic bag and bottle caps outside our door, and bags of trash in the hallway. In our room the beds were made but there was an empty beer bottle on the A/C unit, an unemptied trash can, no toilet paper, and only one lightbulb in the lights above the bed. The fridge was off in our room and since we couldn't tell if we turned it on, we filled our cooler with ice instead of using it. There were two pennies on the floor in the bathroom and only one bath towel. When I picked up the phone to call the front desk I saw there wasn't a cord from the phone to the phone jack in the wall. I don't know if the guests of the motel were being loud or if there were people loitering in the parking lot, but whoever it was they were LOUD. We spoke to management the following morning about the state of our room and he asked why we didn't ask to change. My husband explained we had been driving for 8 hours, had unloaded the car and we were tired and didn't want to move our bags again. Because we booked through a third party app he said he wasn't able to give us a partial refund. My husband contacted the third party app and they said they weren't able to give us a partial refund but contacted the motel and asked if they would, and...
Read moreTerrible!!! Avoid this place like the plague. The room I was given was NASTY. There were insects all over the sink, nasty stuff in the freezer, broken toilet, empty toilet paper roll, no bath or shower towels and the room was filled with cigarette smoke. I have respiratory issues and couldnât stomach it (even for the one night I was in Toledo ). My first 15 minutes of being there I had to go down to the front desk twice. Once for toilet paper and minutes later for bath towels. No toilet paper, maybe a house keeper overlooked something. But an empty roll left there, đ€. Even the phone in the room looked like it had dirt caked up on it that had built up over time. Just walking up the steps smelled like urine to get to the room. Then to get up the steps and have 2 strollers right outside the door. There were floor mats in place of towels hanging up, a picture of people on the mirror and the room just smelled nasty. I asked Kenny (who was amazing and very helpful), for air freshener to see if I could combat the smell. Kenny provided me what he had and I sprayed the room before I went to visit my relatives. The entire visit I was stressed about the cleanliness of the room I was going back too. I get back to the room and it still has a heavy cigarette smell and I just canât do it anymore. I checked out within 4 hours of checking in. I have been trying to reach the Manager Maurice for a few days and he has NOT RETURNED A SINGLE PHONE CALL.
Bottom line, if the things I could see were so nasty, I canât imagine laying on those sheets and placing my head on those pillows. I would rather sleep in my car after driving 7.5 hours. Unbelievable!!! Unfortunately a group called Train was in Toledo and every hotel was nearly booked and there were no other options. I went to other hotels praying for...
