Wow! This is a gem. This store carries everything I've ever needed for any Korean, or Chinese food recipes, plus imports from Japan, Thailand, and other countries. Some of the coolest takes on American products like Oreos, and Lays chip brands, lots of Ramune, Buldak in a variety of flavors, as well as a vast array of Ramen. Conventional noodles as well. Bought two Woks from here. After seasoning them I use them to make the best fried rice I've ever had. I've also made fried noodles using any of the clear rice noodles and/or sweet potato noodles. They "pop" in the wok and become a nice crispy snack. Fresh bamboo shoots. Lots of fresh and frozen fish and seafood, A good assortment of produce, Kimchi and other pickled veggies. If you haven't visited this market, do yourself a favor and check it out, there's at least something here for you, no matter what your tastes are. I guarantee it.
A couple of years in. Still shop here at least once per month. Wide variety of cuts of meat, and fish. The coconut milk in the 6 packs of cans is the best I've tasted. I get nearly all my fried rice ingredients here. The ginseng shots with royal jelly are a great...
Read moreAbsolute best selection in Toledo! This is the kind of Asian supermarket that makes me go "I'm so glad that this place exists!"
What really sets this place apart are the fresh section, which contains a full selection of meat, fresh fruit/veggies, and fresh noodles, the bulk dry goods section were you can get peanuts, soybeans, mung beans, etc by the pound, several aisles just dedicated to bowls, woks, pans, spider strainers, and other kitchen implements, plus just the sheer size and sheer variety of everything else. (There's two whole aisles of noodles, an entire aisle of dark sauces, a curry aisle, an entire aisle of dried spices, an entire snack aisle, an entire tea aisle, and that's not even scratching the surface.)
Toledo has kind of been a slapdash of smaller markets in the past... One tiny Thai market, a Korean market, and smaller (now sadly long-defunct) Chinese and Laotian markets. They all had more-specialized more-limited selections. This is the first Asian supermarket in Toledo that has...
Read moreBest asian market in the Toledo area. Only thing is everytime I go they seem to have new stuff and not the items I previously bought here and then I'll go again and they'll have it.
So it's never for sure that you will get what you want when you go in.
I think they need a bigger snack area. Their drink selections are great, would be awesome if they got the larger mogu mogu bottles.. especially mango!
Service is always fine. Nothing amazing. Just okay.
I LOVE their bowls and plates. I will buy a bunch at some point. So cute.
Another thing to up this market would be to sell pokemon related stuff. There's a japanese store in novi Michigan that has treats and snacks that are pokemon themed, and it always wins me over. I know this isn't a japanese store but I definitely think if they sold snacks geared that way or even a small selection of pokemon cards that they would do well with that.
Overall this was definitely needed here, outside of this market I wouldn't suggest any until you get up...
