WORST EXPERIENCE WITH A HOTEL MANAGER EVER! HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. I have never had to leave a bad review before but I am hoping to save someone the trouble after what I experienced at this location. My family and I were moving cross-country and finally got to this location after a 12-hour day on the road. We checked in (front desk staff was SUPER unfriendly) and made our way to our room to find a USED bottle of LUBE on the TV stand. Mortified, I grabbed some toilet paper, picked it up, and tossed it in the trash before my kids could ask questions. I have stayed in MANY Marriotts (my hotel of choice) and even minus the lube on the TV stand, the room did not have that clean feeling like Marriotts usually have. The people in the room next to ours were playing super loud music - it was just not somewhere we could relax after the long day we had. I went to the front desk to tell them about my experience. The girl working tried to loop in the acting manager on duty for help, but she dismissed her and started talking about personal matters. Very unprofessional. I told the girl I would like a refund and I will be checking out. I was there not even an hour before deciding to leave. There were no managers on duty who could issue a refund apparently and I was told I would have to call the corporate office about a refund. Fast forward, I called and opened a case with Corporate. They were super nice, wrote up my case with the whole experience story, and told me they would pass word along to the manager at the hotel and they would decide if I would be issued a refund. I was to wait to hear back from the manager directly. I didn't hear back for weeks... so I decided to take the initiative. I called the hotel and the person I spoke to took down my name and number and told me a manager would call me back. A couple of weeks later after still not hearing back from a manager, I called them back. And FINALLY got to speak to a manager there. Unfortunately. It was a woman (I was so flustered I didn't write her name down) and she was the most unpleasant rude woman I have ever spoken to over the phone. She asked me what happened and I told her (even though she could reference my case). She said, "Nothing was wrong with the room, you will not get a refund". I said, "Finding a USED bottle of lube, terrible customer service, loud music, zero follow-ups etc. isn't a cause for concern?" She dismissed me and again said I wouldn't get a refund and they didn't find the lube I mentioned. I told her that was because I threw it away so my kids didn't see. She called me a liar and reiterated that no refund would be issued. She was extremely argumentative, and clearly didn't want to resolve the issue, so I decided not to waste another second dealing with a woman clearly not interested in helping. I called Corporate back, they re-opened my case, and THANK GOODNESS the general manager (Joseph) wrote me an email apologizing and issued me my refund. I am thankful for him being a decent human and talking to me like I was human. I still cannot believe what I encountered with the female manager at this location and would not wish this experience on anyone. Hopefully, I took one for the team and no one else has to go through this. But my advice is if you do have any issues at this location, go straight to Corporate or the general manager as the female manager on duty is a complete NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!! Stay safe and safe...
Read moreI booked with this hotel last minute because I was coming in town for a funeral. The hotel seemed to be in a good area. My flight arrived late the first night so I didn’t have a chance to thoroughly inspect the room, but the external cleanliness appeared to be sufficient. The funeral was early the next morning, so I only had time to wake up get ready and go. When I arrived back to the hotel that night something told me to inspect the room. I started with the sleeper sofa, the first thing I saw when I raised the cushion was large stains on the backside of the cushion. I then unfolded the mattress and found 3 very alive bugs , that appeared to be maggots. I don’t know what they were, but what I do know is that they did not belong on a mattress in a hotel room that I had purchased and was currently sleeping in.
I contacted the front desk to report the issue. I was immediately told to hold on for several minutes, someone finally came back to the phone. They stated that they would come up soon to take a look at the bugs. They finally arrived 20 minutes later after I called back down to find out what was taking so long. We had time to shake out and pack up all of our belongings during this time. I informed the gentleman that I was tired, I’m grieving, and that I wanted to shower and go to sleep in another room. I was then told, that they were sold out and it would take a while to figure the issue out. At this point it was already midnight, I had to wait another 30-45 minutes for a room reservation to be arranged at the Hilton property that was basically on the same parking lot. I was also told by the Marriott employee that I would receive the Hilton room for the same rate that I was receiving at their property. Needless to say, when I arrived that was a completely different story. The Hilton rep informed me that she informed the Marriott employee during booking, that Hilton wouldn’t be able to discount their room to that rate.
Thank God my mom and I was finally able to go into a clean room and get a peaceful night of rest. I typically stay at a Marriott property a majority of the time when I’m out of town, but this was the worst experience ever. I tried calling back a few times after my checkout because I was told that I wouldn’t be billed for the one night of stay, but I most definitely was charged. I requested to speak with a manager and left messages for a call back. I still haven’t spoken with anyone as of yet and this was 8/17/2024, so there has been plenty of opportunity for someone to reach out. Apparently, my message was received because my credit card was finally credited back the amount charged. There was never an apology issued. One of the employees had the worst attitude in regards to me calling in asking for a manager. She informed me at 0900 that the manager wasn’t in yet, but she would have them to call me. I never received a call, so at 3:30pm I called back and she stated that the manager...
Read moreHorrible Stay‼️NO Lights💡NO TV📺 NO Electric⚡Strong Chemical Odors in Rooms and Hall‼️++Many other issues--read entire review‼️ My son and I arrived to the first room assigned (Room 201) around 5:30pm at Marriott by the Courtyard Secur Street, Toledo, Ohio; and it smelled horribly like febreze!! My asmatic son had an immediate attack!! The odor was SO strong; even I began gagging so badly and could not even take that smell either!! The second room we were assigned to (Room 314) around 6pm seemed better, so we moved the pullout bed next to the window to air the room out and left to go out to eat. We arrived back to the room around 7:30pm and the room odor seemed satisfactory. We settled in and decided to charge our telephones plugging into the wall recepticals, however our phones would not begin charging!! Then we tried to watch the TV. Well, the TV would not turn on no matter what we tried! It began to get dark, and we tried to turn on lights. The only light that would turn on was in the bathroom! Other lights in the room by the bed, in the corner or near the window would not turn on. Plus, all of the receptacles were not working! It was getting dark, and we decided to go downstairs to find out what we could do. The front desk staff was very nice and called the electrician who was on call, however he was ill and could not come to alleviate the electrical problem! The front desk staff took us to another room to see if it would be acceptable without any major chemical odor (Room 318). It did seem to be acceptable to us, and we were considering moving to that room, however, we found out the electric and TV did not work in that room either! 😲 So, we went back to room 314 and just laid on the bed in the dark; no TV or lights!😡 By this time, it was around 9:30pm. Then, around 11:00 p.m. We got a call that there was another room available that may work? (Room 424)! By then we were still relaxing in bed and decided we did not want to move to another room, besides, my son had to get up early for meetings. So, around midnight we fell asleep, but we were awakened around 1:00 a.m. with all the lights in the room on‼️ Now my son had to get up at 7:30 a.m. and prepare for the day of meetings, so we weren't very happy about having to get up and turn off the lights after falling asleep! This was has been and probably will be the worst stay I have ever experienced in a hotel! And I have traveled extensively and stayed in many many hotels! Plus, the pillows that you lean on in the king bed are atrocious! The covers were torn and tattered (Have a photo)! I just wonder, after someone from the hotel reads about this if they believe this is was a good...
