We stayed at the Hampton Inn New Paltz in August. However, we had an issue. On our first night when taking a shower my wife noticed the water wasn’t draining in the shower and mentioned it to me. I then took a shower and noticed the draining issue however after a couple minutes the draining issue turned into more as what looked to be fecal matter started rising from the drain slot. I rinsed off as quickly as I could and went to the front desk to inform the person working. She was with a customer and asked what I needed. After telling her the details she said she would be up to check it after taking care of the customer. I went up to the room and waited. It was late at that point but stayed awake for her to arrive. An hour later I went down to the front desk again but the same customer was still there. I went back up to the room at what was now nearly midnight. She never came up.
The next morning the shower was in the same situation. Brown-tinged water would rise out of the drain. On our way out I said something to the person working the front desk and she said it was noted for housekeeping to check and that she would also reiterate it to housekeeping. When we returned, I could see that the shower had no been touched as the stains were still there and debris that had washed up was still in the shower floor. I then went back down to the front desk and told the person working who was the original person told. I told her again that we were taking a shower with poop. She said she expected housekeeping to take care of it.
Our showers the next morning were quick. The shower filled with water to the point of nearly overflowing within a couple minutes. At the time we checked out no one had come by the room from housekeeping or maintenance to check the shower after we had informed them no less than 3 times of...
Read moreWe had an absolutely amazing experience at this hotel. The breakfast was great, and there were a lot of choices. Breakfast goes from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., so it was pretty easy to get breakfast in before we had to go do other activities. They had waffles and fresh fruit and oatmeal and eggs and sausage and Ham and cereal and juice and milk. I'm probably forgetting something that was in The breakfast area. Alex was particularly helpful during breakfast and throughout our stay. He helped me when I couldn't figure out how to use the waffle machine, and was especially nice to my two little boys whenever he saw them. The pool was nice & my boys loved being able to go for a swim there. Housekeeping provided us with extra towels very quickly when we asked. They had nice shampoos and conditioners in the bathrooms. We got a room with two queen beds, my only complaint is that my room did not have a bathtub. I didn't think to ask for a room with a bathtub. My in-laws were in a room with a king bed, and they did have a bathtub in their room. This might not be important to a lot of people, but having a 3-year olds it's a lot easier to give him a bath then to give him a shower. Read moreTerrible. My sons wedding weekend. They screwed up my reservations that i had made months before and really made it difficult. They had cancelled my own 2 rooms at one point which pushed me to tears in my sons wedding day. The young staff was limited on Saturday 10/6 and 10/7. We found other accommodations for our guests nextdoor. After a cancellation the Hampton Inn called us but it was too late at this point. They aaid they would hold it. I told them to let it go but they charged me for it anyway. I feel they do not realize they are messing with peoples people's lives. The morning of my sons wedding was spent scrambling for our guests. Added stress and almost added cost' they offered rooms at another hilton at and added cost out of the agreed contract For our guests . They hotel next door dropped their price to 100 for the inconvenience to our guests. I am a patient person but i am very angry at the time stolen to deal with a problem i did not created that is time i cannot get back and should have been spent enjoying a special occasion i will not have again.
