Went for the Spa-tini Getaway end of April 2023. Room was beautiful, the only minor annoyance was there was no refrigerator in the room for restaurant leftovers/water etc, it was $10 extra to have one put in. When one was delivered and after dinner I opened it, it had the most rancid smell that I didn't even put my leftovers inside. Other than that, I would suggest they give bottle of water at check in like many places do (just a nice touch), and leaving some more amenities in the room like soap for both the sink and shower, not just the sink, and maybe those great lamp phone chargers so you can be on your phone in bed while charging. Other than that the room was very pretty!
The breakfast buffet was included - it was very tasty. The waitress was one of two things, either very inexperienced or in the completely wrong profession. Had to keep flagging her down, she never came over initially to ask about getting juice or tea (no hot water or tea on the buffet tables) or ask anything really. Then when we were still eating she then decided to pay a visit on her own and say "Should I clear ya plates?" Uh no, still eating here, utensil in hands. Lol!
The spa sauna, and massage and respective massage therapists were amazing! The locker room was packed, so yeah, a little awkward and not much room to get into robe and/or changed back into clothes. It was as if they scheduled all the appointments at the same time! Way too packed. But I kept saying - just stay calm Eileen, this is what it's all about. Then was looking forward to spending some pre and post (included) massage time in the The Quiet Room - located just outside of the treatment and locker rooms. Wanted desperately to get my "zen vibe" on and chilllll with an herbal tea or lemon water but unfortunately for many of us, there were a few chatty groups who were speaking way too loud, as if they were at a lunch in a crowded restaurant. They were not very courteous to the others in the room who were there to go "inward" and relax. Noticed lots of annoyed patrons glaring over at the chatty groups. Also in this room I was grossed out when so many people (including myself) came very close to taking what we thought were pre-poured glasses of water with lemon slices that were sitting on the "tea/water help-yourself table", when in fact we all realized they were used glasses others left there. Ewwww! And there wasn't even any cold water or lemon slices available, only hot herbal tea which was very nice, but I was really in the mood for cold water hydration. Little touches go a long way - Maybe they should have attendants come through every once in a while with a gentle reminder to keep quiet in the quiet room and to replenish, and clean up at the beverage table - just a suggestion.
Another suggestion is to give the option to make the massage or facials before 11 am checkout or night before, instead of after checkout time so one can shower in room or use bathroom, take time packing, prepare for lunch, fix makeup/hair, wash off massage oils and lotions etc. Checkout is so early and most people want to go out for the rest of day and "look the part" They also only let us have access to the use of hotel amenities like the spa/sauna/steamroom/pool on the same day as checkout, treatments and included martini lunch (which the lunch by the way was really scrumptious and the lunch waitress was very good)! So we had to rush around like maniacs to enjoy each of the amenities we thought we had the evening before to also space them out and relax. I don't know who at the hotel plans these spa package/min getaways, but they really should give options to plan the itinerary from guests perspective and anticipated relaxed-destress-spa mindset so as paying guests, they can enjoy all hotel amenities for the ENTIRE time they are paying to stay there (check in to check out).
The restaurant and entire hotel was beautifully kept, the Shoppes at East Wind was a very nice thing to do and right across parking lot. All in all nice mini getaway with a few...
Read moreIF YOU HAVE FOOD ALLERGIES OR RELIGIOUS DIETARY RESTRICTIONS - THIS VENUE CANNOT BE TRUSTED!
I’ve been holding off on this review because the venue’s response to the overwhelming issues we had would have been taken into account in this review - however - the response from Luisa the General Manager are almost as infuriating as the issues.
The sales people Nicole & Joey are wonderful. They’re also great at their jobs. Nicole was my salesperson. She PROMISED me multiple times NO PORK would be served at my wedding. NOT ONLY WAS IT SERVED TO MY GUESTS, BUT THE ONLY THING TO EAT IN THE BRIDAL SUITE WAS A PLATTER FULL OF MEAT, INCLUDING PORK, AND CHEESE. Guess who didn’t eat at all during the wedding? The vegan bride who was promised the world and was given a crap💩 instead.
The worst part was them THROWING OUT MY BOUQUET. It was given to the staff directly after my ceremony. I didn’t even use it during most of my photos because I paid to have it preserved and wanted to keep it safe. They refuse to take accountability for throwing out my very expensive bouquet & DOZENS of other fresh flowers that were supposed to be kept safe in flower buckets. Our wedding was on a Sunday. The venue knew we were spending the night at the Inn (another mistake and waste of money) and we were told we could go back to the reception space on Monday to collect our decor & flowers. When I contacted our sales person and the maître D on Monday, Nicole couldn’t find anyone who knew anything about where the flowers went and Reid never answered my calls, voicemails, or texts. That keepsake is gone forever. They could have easily paid for a replacement to avoid all this negative energy and preserved our respect for the establishment, but instead they’d rather argue through email for weeks on end trying to avoid taking responsibility.
Next, they made my decorator’s life extremely difficult the day of the wedding. Example: they said they would set up the chairs for our ceremony around 2:45 and didn’t until almost an hour later while my guests were waiting. THEN - THEY DIDN’T FEED HER EVEN THOUGH I PAID FOR HER TO EAT! It’s a slap in the face to have paid nearly $90 for her dinner, and she worked well over 14 hours that day, and didn’t get a bite of food from them.
We also have MULTIPLE missing cards from our wedding day. Hundreds if not thousands of dollars gone because of the maître D’s incompetence.
The basement bridal suite at The Vineyard reeks like mold and mildew & has super romantic dehumidifiers running at all times 🙄 When you’re spending tens of thousands of dollars to have an event here, your senses shouldn’t be assaulted with disgusting smells.
If this review dissuades just one couple from booking with them, it was well worth it. There were a bunch of other little details that I would have laughed off, like asking the maître D to put my husband’s Stepfather’s memorial banner on the correct chair for the ceremony - he couldn’t even get that right. IF YOU HEAR REID IS YOUR MAÎTRE D - ASK FOR SOMEONE WHO ACTUALLY KNOWS HOW TO DO THEIR JOB. He also gave my DJ the wrong names & my mother and father in law were announced with MY last name.
This venue will say all the right things and when it’s time for them to do their jobs, they’ll drop the ball at every turn.
COUPLES - DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THE AMBASSADOR SUITE! Not only is the carpet stained to all hell & the decor gaudy and old, but the mattress is so uncomfortable that we ended our trip at the hotel early & cancelled our spa day after our wedding. Hotel Indigo in Riverhead is gorgeous and not a far drive & breakfast is included in your stay. Save your money & avoid getting ready in the suite.
Be careful of this business. They’re liars and thieves and don’t care about anything except taking your money and making false promises.
Their response to our issues was to mail us a $500 spa gift card that will never get used since we’d rather set ourselves on fire than go to this property ever again. UPDATE: THE GIFT CARD NEVER SHOWED UP, so they...
Read moreOur wedding at The East Wind was an absolute DREAM come true. When reading reviews, the ones that really stood out were the ones about Jennifer. We booked an appointment and she greeted us with her amazing smile and extremely outgoing personality. She felt like family (and quickly became part of it). She listened to what we wanted, learned about us & never ever pushed us one way or another. She came back with options that she felt worked for us. We quickly decided this was the place for us.
We didn’t want a long engagement & we signed our contract to have our wedding in the Northampton Ballroom on 11.11.22 for our wedding on 11.11.23. We felt the price was affordable and we were getting SO much for our money.
Jennifer is a GREAT communicator, too great if you ask me. I would have to yell at her for answering my emails on her days off. When we were reaching our final appointment I was starting to get frazzled. I was emailing Jenn on different email chains with different questions. Even though she says I didn’t drive her crazy, I know I did. I will forever be grateful for her help in bringing our vision of a perfect day to life.
There are always hiccups, however, Jennifer took any troubles we were having, assured us they would be taken care of by her personally, and they were. We never felt that we were on our own.
We met our Maitre D’ Scott at our final appointment. He listened to our vision for the day, worked with us to ensure it would all be executed FLAWLESSLY & he came through. All the planning and little details were getting us too frazzled. We communicated best we could & just let go. We let Scott work his magic, & he made it one thousand times better than we could ever imagined. We both cried seeing the room for the first time.
Desmond’s - To make things even easier for us (annoying right?) they has an on site restaurant that we decided to have our rehearsal dinner in the night before. We worked with Rob. He helped us pick the menu that worked best for us. We weren’t rushed, & they let us enjoy ourselves. We invited our families for brunch the morning after the wedding & we had a great time. We stayed from basically open to close of the buffet, & just reminisced about the night before. Which EVERYONE loved.
We both decided to stay in the inn the night before the wedding. We wanted to keep tradition and not see or even speak to each other the day of the wedding. Lauren made sure we were on separate floors, & in areas we wouldn’t run in to each other. All of our guests who stayed in the inn raved about their rooms & loved the accommodations. They only let you book 10 rooms within a block, which wasn’t ideal for us. We understood we picked a popular day, & there were other weddings going on in other rooms, which had NO impact on us, by the way.
Fab, or bridal attendant is amazing. She ALWAYS made sure we had a drink in our hand, & made sure we were staying hydrated too. My wife had 35 bustles on her dress. As our guests enjoyed cocktail hour, she worked on this dress while my wife and I enjoyed the food they brought to our bridal suite. Fab still made sure we were able to get to the cocktail hour and see our guests.
The family we have made here will always have a special place in our hearts. We will always be grateful for how they made us feel & the love they showered us with.
Jennifer, let’s get planning on the baby showers, christenings, & vow...
