The estate at eastwind is situated not far off of William Floyd parkway. Parking is ample and valet is unnecessary. The hall is clean and in good shape, both inside and outside. The outside area has nice foliage and is well maintained, including tables, umbrellas, waterfall, etc. When I was there, there was music, but it seemed like there was a skip or a glitch that kept causing the music to cut out momentarily. I'm unaware if this was "house" music or dj provided, but I'm guessing house. Both the cocktail hour room (which is 2 rooms) and the main hall were very nice. The down side was the food. I'm sure all food/menus were prearranged by the bride/groom via house packages. Cocktail hour food had lamb chops which were pretty good, but the hall limited you to 1pp. I didn't try everything, but the spring rolls and mini welling puffs were certainly fresh from the freezer. An Asian food station reeked of too much soy sauce. Fried calamari was greasy and not crisp. Cold eggplant was undercooked and had no seasoning. Bacon wrapped scallops were tasty. Coconut shrimp was served, but in my experience coconut shrimp is a crispy fried shrimp however theirs seemed more like sweet chili shrimp as they were covered in sauce and had no crispness. Once cocktail hour ended, service started in the dining room. The appetizer was a caprese salad served with buratta. The ratios were certainly off as the cheese was a good size and they served it with 3-4 large Boston lettuce leaves. The tomato was 1 cherry or grape tomato sliced in half. This was served with 2 pieces of mini toast and topped with a balsamic glaze which I'd guess was store bought. Everyone at my table agreed the dish needed more glaze. The tomatoes were certainly lacking. The cheese and toast however were delicious. Dinner choices were the standard beef, chicken, fish. Beef was a filet topped with a gorgonzola butter. I wanted to get the steak, but knew better. My wife got it and said the gorgonzola was overpowering, which is why I didn't get it. The steak was cooked correctly and a generous portion. Pork chops were a double cut served with apples and a sauce. I ordered the chops and asked for them medium rare or medium. I said if the cook can't do it, I'll take the fish (shrimp). When it was served it cut it in half and it was clearly well done. I did try the sauce which seemed good as well as some polenta which was OK. I sent this back and got shrimp oreganata. The shrimp were well done and the forgot the oregano it seemed. Another person at the table got the vegan dish which was a ravioli entrée. He said he wasn't impressed with the canned tomatoes they covered it in. Dessert was a cookie tray with chocolates, and different varieties of goodies including chocolate dipped marshmallows. I'd guess these were made somewhere else as they is no way this hall could make anything on that level. Both the cocktail hour and dining room had adequately stocked bars with what seemed to be real liquor (some halls switch the booze - fox hollow, Westbury manor, chateau brand and the watermill all did). For a catering hall, the estate at east wind certainly gets a D for the catering part. This was my second time visiting this establishment, but the previous time, almost 10 years ago seemed like a...
Read moreWe had our wedding at The Estate at East Wind on April 26, and it was truly the best day ever! From the start, we knew The Estate was the perfect venue for us—it beautifully blends rustic charm with elegant ballroom style, which fit both of our personalities perfectly. Of all the venues we toured, The Estate offered the most variety and flexibility while still being cost-effective.
Our package included two signature cocktails (which were phenomenal!) and, of course, a full open bar. For the cocktail hour, we had five different stations plus a gorgeous grazing board filled with cheeses, charcuterie, fruits, and vegetables, along with passed hors d’oeuvres. Dinner included a salad and a choice of five entrées for our guests. For dessert, we had a stunning four-tier cake from The Rolling Pin (10/10!) in two different flavors, plus a fun ice cream bar.
Our maitre’d, Tony, was absolutely fantastic. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was set up perfectly and that our entire night ran smoothly. At the end of the evening, he packed up everything we needed right away, and the next morning we found the rest of our items neatly organized and ready to go.
Our bridal attendant, Mary Lou, was phenomenal. From the moment I arrived, she was attentive, thoughtful, and made sure I was always comfortable—champagne in hand and food in reach! She brought all of the cocktail hour food to our bridal suite so my husband and I could enjoy a quiet moment before joining our guests. Throughout the evening, she helped with everything from adjusting my bustle and changing my shoes to making sure I was never sitting alone. She even invited my mom to sit with me if my husband stepped away. She ensured we were well-fed, hydrated, and truly cared for. She also packed up our meals and the top tier of our cake so we could bring them home.
We truly couldn’t have asked for a better day, and The Estate at East Wind made it...
Read moreCame here for a summer wedding and was very impressed! The estate itself is beautiful and definitely leaves you coming away with more than just your run of the mill wedding hall, it has actual personality and beauty to it. There is both an outdoor patio area and indoor seating for cocktail hour. Plenty of staff assisting and on top of it the food was delicious with a great variety to boot (the pasta station was a personal favorite). The main reception hall is spacious and we never felt like we were on top of other guests and wasn't difficult to walk around when we wanted to. Main course food was delicious as well and they offered something I had never before either at a wedding, seconds! I was obviously too full by the time we got to that, but just the idea is something I find quite appealing. Plenty of parking in the lot out front for any guests. I've been to a lot of weddings this year, but this venue was definitely towards the top of my...
