My husband and I recently stayed overnight at the Fairfield Marriott in Verona, NY during our road trip from Toronto, Canada, to Vermont. It turned out to be an excellent stopover. We were delighted by the extensive breakfast options, including waffles, boiled eggs, scrambled eggs, breakfast meat, fresh fruit, various yogurts, and a selection of juices and coffee. It was a great way to start our day. It was easy to find a clean table to eat at as we purposely arrived before half way through their breakfast time period. The hotel is quiet and enforces this policy, ensuring a peaceful and restful night. I didn't need my earplugs. While the shuttle bus service to the Turning Stone Casino wasn't available, driving there was easy with plenty of parking both at the hotel and the casino garage. Our King room was comfortable, featuring a microwave, a fridge, an armchair, a desk with a chair, and excellent pump shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. The only minor drawback was the extremely shallow bathtub. Linens and towels were decent. The bed was reasonably comfortable. We booked directly with Marriott several months in advance, and the process was smooth. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, adding to our positive experience. We didn't have time to use the indoor pool and gym but the pool requires a waiver which means it was quiet. If you're planning a road trip and need a convenient stopover, we highly recommend the Fairfield Marriott in Verona. It offers comfort, convenience, and excellent breakfast, especially if you're visiting the Turning Stone Casino. Overall, our stay was very satisfying, and we would gladly return on future trips.

I was hoping I'd get a Marriott survey but i didnt. This hotel is AMAZING for 2 major reasons 1. THE STAFF 2. Its spotlessly clean. I am the GM for a Marriott and this property impressed me. The staff was the absolute best you can encounter. They went out of their way to take care of us on our girls weekend. When i had a friend get stranded with her son due to a storm, they helped her too. Absolutely the best. From FOM, to Ops Manager, shuttle driver, etc. This hotel was top notch and Id be proud to have any of them as employees. Hotel is older and can use a refresh but that doesnt even phase me when its CLEAN. cant wait to be back, you all are the absolute best.

2023-12-18 - 5 Stars overall Thanks to the staff, Eve, Sandra, Trisha and others. From our arrival till departure the staff was polite and courteous. Room - Clean and perfect for our stay. Service - Great staff. Location - hotel is across the street from Turning Stone Casino, close to Oneida and Rome where we were visiting family. Gym - used the gym almost every day. Pool - kids enjoyed using the pool. 4 Stars because of the following. Only issue was not being able to use Apple Pay. Why is that not available at check in/out? Marriott launched Apple Pay back in 2015 and here we are 8 years later. Why?

We stayed here 1 night for a wedding nearby. We actually only live about 1 hour and 45 min away, but figured instead of driving back late night after a party, we'd rather sleep nearby, get a good night's rest, check out the area the next day and find a nice local spot to have breakfast, and basically make sure the driver was awake and refreshed so that he could drive home safely. It was a very hot evening. Unfortunately the air conditioner in our room was automatically set to turn off whenever nobody was moving. It had a motion sensor. Every time we'd start to fall sleep, it would shut off and the room became hot again. My husband kept moving to activate the motion sensor, and would then try to fall asleep before it would shut off. I managed to fall asleep despite the heat but around 5:30am I awoke to him waving his arms again to get the a/c back on. He saw that I was awake and said to me: "I haven't slept for one minute all night. I literally have not been able to fall asleep. Can you wake up and pack right now so we can just drive home so I can get some sleep?" I obliged. (He is the type of person who can fall asleep quickly and easily in practically any environment, so I knew this was serious -- this was a first for him.) We packed and checked out around 7 am, me half-asleep and him frustrated and still awake from the night before, we told the clerk that our stay was horrible because the a/c wouldn't stay on. She said "oh, you should have called down to the front desk and we could have walked you through overriding that." Override it?! What? During his restless night, my husband had looked everywhere for instructions on how to control the a/c. He had no idea it was possible to override the motion sensor! We asked why there was no signage in the room providing info on this, or instructions on how to override the a/c's motion sensor, but the clerk's only response was to apologize for our bad night, and insist that we should have called down to the front desk in the middle of the night to solve it. I am assuming my husband did not do so out of respect for me, because he didn't want to make noise and wake me up. It makes no logical sense to expect every guest to go through this extra step in order to have their room be climate controlled. As the saying goes: "You had ONE JOB..." This hotel's job was to give the driver a night of rest after a long party. This hotel failed at that job. Only recourse: we paid with a Bonvoy free-night certificate...

I stayed here 10/8/21- 10/11/21 due to The Lodge at The Turning Stone Resort & Casino being completely booked which was not a big deal given the hotel was directly across the street from the resort. I knew the hotel was pretty basic after reading online reviews and visiting the hotel website on my Bonvoy app. I travel quite frequently and almost always look for a Marriott (if its an option) given I am a Titanium member and enjoy the many perks.

I checked in using the app with a mobile key and just quickly dropped my stuff off in the room to meet a group for dinner. The room did have a mildew smell which was most likely coming from the AC so I simply lit a candle for several minutes and disinfected items with Lysol prior to leaving out. When I returned from dinner I went to take a shower and was completely disgusted to see nasty, awful, discolored shower curtain liner with mildew and mold stains all over it. There was no way I was taking a shower with that liner so I took it down and called the front desk to request a new one. The clerk was very pleasant but informed me that there was no one in housekeeping working and he had no idea where they were. Unfortunately only him and a personnel from security were working and managing the hotel that night due to a shortage of staff. No one from housekeeping or maintenance were available. As a result I had to take a shower with just the outside curtain and the shower head facing the wall to avoid the floor from gettng soaked. Additionally I requested extra washcloths prior to checking in, however, the hotel had no extra clean washcloths available. I usually pack washcloths from home but unfortunately forgot. For the first two days I had to take a shower with no liner, however, a kind young lady from housekeeping brought one to my room the last day which I had to put up myself. The website stated that housekeeping was limited and was only available upon request, however it was not available at all when I did request it the second day. The staff were very pleasant and I do not put any blame on them, however, I was very displeased and frustrated based on these events and would not stay here again. I will definitely be making a call...

I stayed at this hotel on 12/13/19 with my cousin hoping to have a nice place to spend the night after attending an event at Turning Stone Resort Casino and not wanting to drive 2 hours home afterwords, it was not what we expected to say the least. When we checked in, we were told we did not pay for our 1 night stay yet and that we just paid a booking fee when we had booked the room online 2 months in advanced and paid the full price of the stay when we booked it. We figured no big deal something must have just gone wrong when we booked it, so we brushed it off and just went on to enjoy our time at the event we attended. We got back to our room at the hotel from the event at 10pm and started to fall asleep by 11-11:30, around midnight the room above us began being very loud to the point that it woke my cousin and I up. We called the front desk and was told it would be taken care of, and we tried to fall back asleep. The room above us continued to get louder and louder, to the point that it sounded like someone was getting attacked and furniture was being moved around. We ended up calling the front desk two more times, with nothing being done. This whole ordeal lasted until 3am when my cousin and I decided just to leave and drive the 2 hours home. The next day we spoke to the weekend manager requesting a refund and was told the situation was handled properly, she then forwarded us to the general managers voicemail and told the general manager would give us a call. A week later and the general manager never called us so we called again and spoke to her, she told us the situation was handled properly and was no help. She was rude and not all sympathetic to our awful experience in her hotel. We will be calling corporate in a last attempt to get our money back and to report the awful managerial staff of this hotel. Do not stay here if you'd like a pleasant night stay where you get your money's worth and can actually...
