Let me start with the wait staff, Patrick was excellent as a waiter & the hostess was also very professional, atmosphere was just ok, not sure what the attraction is, even outside on balcony, it's nothing but parking lots & mechanical equipment on top of roofs, Anyway, went there for a Birthday Celebration, was very very disappointed!!! Filet Mignon's had NO flavor what so ever. Surf & Turf @$146.00 should have (Lobster & Filet ) melted in your mouth but did NOT.. Dinners are Al La Carte, 61.00 for a Filet & literally nothing else on the plate. Sea Bass was excellent & the Appetizer Crab Cake was also very good (go figure that was the best part of the meal the Sea Food at a steak house rest.) ordered family style mashed potatoes very salty but we ate them due to the steak being sub par. We were looking forward to going there & was extremely let down. Also, there's a dress code on website, we were fine with that but once we got there it's clear that they do not follow dress code. Guys with t-shirts, shorts & sneakers untied, women with tank top & jeans, which is ok but you should take that off your website if you're not going to follow it. For the 4 of us the bill was $533.00 plus the tip. Totally not worth that kind of money I've had much better steaks at locally owned restaurants. I was told J. Julian oversees the restaurants @ Turning Stone which surprised me, John always know for running a great restaurant, and last night was not any where near that! And for those reasons stated above sorry to say we won't visit again or could I recommend the Steak House @ TS
I am editing this review as the amount I entered of $533.00 was wrong, it's as follows, 597.03 & that does NOT include the tip, which is neither here nor there. but, with tip the bill was well over $700.00. I did receive an email (which I believe is a computer generated EMAIL) I could be wrong, but I notice they are(response from the TS) all the...
Read moreHands down the most overpriced steakhouse in the Syracuse area. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. This is a place for people with more brains than money, and lack of taste buds. The salad is literally a head of lettuce sliced in half and the rest of the ingredients just sitting on the top, any chef knows you cant properly clean the lettuce if you leave it whole, plus it leaves half of the work to be done by the guest who would rather enjoy this salad then half to spend 35$ and still have to prepare it myself. The steak list IS A JOKE... The cuts are decent, but for the astronomical price they charge is just laughable. I understand steak is not cheap to begin with, but 72$ for a NY Strip 20 ounces.. that is just despicable. The only good thing I can say about the steak is when ordered Rare, it was cooked perfect. Now on to the desert, I ordered the Creme Brule, which is pretty hard to mess up, but sadly was horrible. The flavor of the custard was just ok, but the sugar flamed top was awful, instead of a thin layer of sugar torched it was so thick that the under layer of burnt top was still a thick chunk of raw sugar and it filled your mouth with an unpleasant grit and overly sweet taste and texture with every bite. The portions of everything were very large but at the same time it also seemed very wasteful and glutinous to serve such portions , smaller portions at a more reasonable price would definitely benefit this restaurant and allow for more people to enjoy. For the experience I had, sadly I could have flown myself and another person down to NYC for the day ate at a much nicer restaurant, with better food and views, and flown back in to town the same day, for a cheaper price than it was for 2 people to dine here. NEVER AGAIN. Please anyone who cherishes fine dining that wants to have a memorable meal. DO...
Read moreA restaurant that you may think is formal, but definitely is not. I felt over-dressed in the dining area, with a necktie. If you desire a formal setting, then have dinner at the Turning Stone's Wildflower restaurant. Sadly, not all restaurants at Turning Stone are open everyday. A result of still blaming the long ago pandemic. And the gaming floor was not very busy. A affirmative reaction of people having to pay New York taxes, on Indian Reservation land. Steaks were perfectly seasoned & cooked. Definitely not frozen and not pampered with large amounts of sodium, which many restaurants do, ruining the steak flavor. Seafood, is more gourmet than filling. For the price, and being a steakhouse, we were hoping for a steak-size portion of Black Cod. A twelve ounce filet, would do the trick. Still, the Black Cod, was excellent. And with the side-order of Lobster Mac & cheese, the plate was more than filling. Steak fries are a meal by themselves. And the taste of the steak fries was mouth-watering. The lobster bisque, was below mediocre. It tasted...old. Remove the chive, and add more lobster. Saying that, a Seafood Newburg, should be on the menu, as a bowl for two or more, and remove the lobster & crab bisque. It's old news. And every restaurant offers a version. Desserts were heavy. Very rich in taste. Still. It's about the dining experience. And the staff is to be commended. And the view, is enough to make you want to not leave. Most patrons are there for celebrating something. On our evening, there was four birthdays and a couple anniversaries. I give TS Steakhouse Five Stars, for the atmosphere, a dining room that does not need a flashlight, the staff, the never-ending wine list, the perfectly cooked & seasoned Black Cod, desserts, and a...
