FIVE STARS ALL AROUND! We will be back! I’m already trying to match up an Allegiant flight with another adorable unit here! We just left from our family’s (two adults, two children) first beach destination vacation at BBR and Treasure Island. We stayed in unit #10 and our family had plenty of room. This location stood out ahead of others for several reasons!
(1) The location! Epic. Across Gulf Blvd and you’re only steps from the sandy white sand beach! Two easy beach access points on either side of the hotel. So easy! (2) The hotel size only having 11 units was a big bonus! We wanted something cozy with the feelings of comfort. Scored that and more! (3) We rented a fun Jeep for this trip but the trolley system stopped every 30 mins a block away. We will use it next time we visit and have in the past. (4) Affordable and well worth the nightly cost! Super adorable experience! Housekeeping and maintenance were very attentive as was Katie, the GM. You can tell they all love what they do at BBR! (5) Their heated pool (82°+) was a nice reprieve in the evening while we used their large onsite grill to cook dinner. (6) It’s right across from the Shake Shop. A huge size for a small ice cream treat & was under $4. You can’t beat grabbing something on your way back from the beach. (7) BBR lets you borrow their beach goods (chairs, umbrellas, toys, surf boards) which was a big help since we traveled with only backpacks. (8) They offer onsite laundry for $2! We only packed enough for two days and this was our solution to packing light with only a personal item.
Loved loved loved it! We highly recommend...
Read moreBoutique Beach Retreat offered my party of three a great stay close to the beach! The property has been renovated and is maintained by an awesome staff (Thank you Katie, Jenny, and Darrell). While the hotel is not staffed 24/7, they will take care of your needs during normal business hours. Now for the particulars - Room - We stayed in room 4 with a very comfortable king size bed and a surprisingly comfortable twin pull out sleeper sofa (the 13 year old didn't want to get up from the pull out). The kitchen was clean and provided everything we needed to prepare quick meals and morning coffee. Pool - The pool may seem small, but it will accommodate the guests of an 11 room boutique hotel and it's cleaned every morning! They provide pool noodles, pool/beach towels, and other toys for guests to use. There are several lounge chairs, tables, chairs and umbrellas situated around the pool area. Beach - It's Treasure Island Beach and is just across Gluf Blvd. Really, it's maybe 700 steps to the beach and all the white sand you could wish for! Lastly, this is a boutique hotel, not an all exclusive resort! If you are looking for a resort, there are plenty around the area with the price tag to go with them. This is a small, friendly, little hotel that has an owner and staff pouring their hearts into it! Everything is clean and comfortable and...
Read moreThe place was super clean but a few problems. WiFi is unsecure and patchy at best. I used my cellular hotspot and personal data most of the time. Tiny pool is not exactly heated as was too cold to swim in at night. Pics are not exactly realistic and they go by “boutique hotel” on Airbnb, Expedia, and other travel sites. I was told there was no availability by staff to stay additional night but was able to make a reservation on the travel sites regardless (I did not confirm for obvious reasons). Microwave blew out first night and they only provide bathing soap. They have new Roku TVs but you should bring extra AAA batteries along with dish soap to wash dishes in bathroom. Not much parking but you can use alleys if need be. No kitchen sink so used my bathroom sink to wash dishes. There was a large fridge and plenty of kitchen accessories. Convenient Circle K next door and easy beach access! Great in-room dunkin doughnuts coffee, lots of beach and regular towels, and guests were super sweet. Seemed very family friendly with good mattress. Staff and owners friendly as well! There are a lot of businesses within walking distance including restaurants, banks, and bars. Regardless of problems, it was extremely affordable and I...
