From the moment I made the reservation to the final farewell, my experience at the Residence Inn St. Petersburg Treasure Island was nothing short of outstanding. This Marriott gem, located at 11908 Gulf Blvd, Treasure Island, FL, truly embodies the essence of exceptional hospitality.
The seamless booking process set a positive tone for the stay. Upon arrival, the warm and professional welcome from Daniela at the front desk truly elevated the experience. Daniela's exceptional service went beyond mere check-in; she became the epitome of attentive and personalized care. Her dedication was evident as she not only facilitated our check-in with efficiency but was also seen diligently assisting other guests throughout the property. Whether she was delivering supplies or offering helpful tips, Daniela's presence and proactive approach made a lasting impression.
The Residence Inn itself is a perfect blend of comfort and convenience. The spacious suites are designed with thoughtful amenities that cater to both short-term and extended stays. Each suite, with its well-equipped kitchen and inviting living area, provides a home-like atmosphere that makes it easy to relax and unwind. The contemporary decor and comfortable bedding ensured that every night was restful and rejuvenating.
The hotel's location is a major highlight, offering easy access to the beautiful Treasure Island Beach just a short walk through the gate, past the pool and down the path across the dune line. Whether you’re looking to relax on the sand or explore the local area, the location is ideal for a variety of activities. The sunsets from the balcony were incredible as well as those viewed from nearby John's Pass. Plenty of seashells to look through and collect should you take a fancy to that.
The daily complimentary breakfast is another standout feature. The variety of fresh and delicious options ensures a great start to the day, with everything from healthy choices to hearty favorites. The inviting breakfast area also serves as a wonderful space to enjoy your meal and interact with fellow guests.
The Residence Inn’s amenities are top-notch, including a well-maintained outdoor pool and a fully equipped fitness center. For those traveling with pets, the hotel's pet-friendly policy is a fantastic added bonus, ensuring that every member of the family feels welcome.
In summary, the Residence Inn St. Petersburg Treasure Island offers an exceptional experience from start to finish. Read moreWe booked a very last minute vacation to treasure island with our kiddos. Last minute as in the night before…they had friends staying on the strip in different hotels but we really enjoy Marriott properties so opted for this one. Booking through reservations was a little frustrating but once we arrived at the actual hotel, we couldn’t be happier. The GM, Ted, was fantastic from the very beginning. He was so welcoming, accommodating, and knowledgeable about the area!
Highlights: Breakfast: The complimentary breakfast was phenomenal!! Waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage/bacon, sausage gravy, bagels, muffins…cereal…all kinds. We looked forward to this each morning. They even provided to-go boxes if you wanted to take it up to your room, which we very much appreciated. Plenty of tables to choose from.
Pool/grounds: For having two hurricanes back to back, somehow this hotel has managed to eradicate any indication they were in duress recently. The pool was great, plenty of umbrellas, and grounds were kept clean.
Access to the beach: A 2 second walk through the pool and you were on the beach.
Rooms: We started in a king room with a sofa pull-out. Although it was great, we opted for a 2 bedroom suite for a little more room. It was PERFECT!!! With three kiddos, they had their own shower and bathroom and their own room. Plus, still had the pullout couch to hang in. The ceiling to floor windows were amazing as well as the spacious balcony to hang on. I was nervous when I read it wasn’t direct ocean view. I truly enjoy that but to my surprise, it was really good. No complaints there!!
Maintenance: Although we never had any issues with the room where maintenance was needed, there were a few maintenance employees walking around who were so friendly. Big shout of to Tom!!! The nicest guy in the place. Always had a big smile, asking how the room was, and if there was anything he could do. Small touches like that really make a difference in your stay. I know if we did need anything, he would have been there in a heartbeat and made sure it was fixed with accuracy.
Overall, a great place, with great rooms, with great staff. Just a little less than a mile over the bridge to John’s Pass where a lot of the action is. Restaurants and fishing charters. We actually looked forward to our nightly walks to dinner. The sunset is truly spectacular while walking over the bridge right around 7:30 pm.
Couldn’t be happier!! Thanks for everything ya’ll have done to make this a great stay. If we make it back to this area, we would...
Read moreI am a titanium elite member of Marriott bonvoy. I travel often and I am very loyal to Marriott. I stay upwards of 100 days a year in hotels.
That being said, I would never in my life stay here again or ever send anyone here.
I was treated so poorly by the front desk lady on the night of my arrival I should have just walked out. She treated me like trash, like I was a bother to her because I was getting such a good rate on the room. She acted like she did me a favor by “giving me” the rate I booked for and then made me spend 25 minutes on the ancient PC in the lobby so I could print something that would have taken literally 10 seconds to email. She had an unkempt appearance and was very short and rude to every person I saw her interact with.
The lobby is not marked, there is no signage anywhere suggesting where to go when pulling up to the building. Parking is additional $20 per day, something that is not only a total rip off but something that should be built into the price of the room. The building doesn’t face the beach either. So you’re either facing north or south.
The room I had was ok, but not super clean or detailed. The TV remote was actually really disgusting, it clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time as it had dirt/food build up all over it. Netflix didn’t work.
The table in my room was wobbly as heck and literally about to fall apart. I was legitimately afraid it would break and they would no doubt charge me for it. The chairs at that table were both in bad shape, one had plastic hanging down from the bottom.
The sliding door to the porch didn’t have a security bar. The furniture on porch was filthy and basically unusable.
The bed is VERY old. You can feel the springs and the king room I was in had two divots in the mattress so sleeping in the middle as 1 person in that room was just awful. Lumpy. The pillows were not great either.
The bathroom vanity actually moved like an unbalanced table, so anytime you put a hand on there as you’re say brushing your teeth, the entire thing crashes into the ground.
I heard footsteps above me often, and during the day housekeeping was extremely loud. Often making banging sounds so loud I thought there was fighting going on. I will go out of my way to say the housekeeping staff I ran into were all super nice!
I spent my hard earned money here and got treated to a very mediocre experience.
I would highly recommend anyone considering a stay here,...
