I've had a storied, troubled past with Voyager. When we first bought in, it was painful how outdated the place was (straight out of the 70s, nothing updated since then).
Then the pool was unexpectantly closed one week when we went, BUT the updates to the area were incredible once we got to use it again. Then we got hit with the special assessment because somebody didn't know that an elevator that opens to the outside near a beach would get sandblasted and need massive repairs. And of course we came back one week to the surprise that our unit had been completed upgraded, though partially just by moving furniture from inside the unit to the outside, and modifying it.
As we were ending our time there because we had taken up residence in Florida and didn't need a timeshare anymore, the selling that Liberte was supposed to be doing was fruitless, probably because of the drama that was hitting our email because Voyager was fighting with Liberte.
Luckily, once Voyager went independent, our week sold very quickly with one hiccup: I said a couple times to the realtor that we were behind on dues but he ended up sending the full check to us anyway. Once he realized his mistake it was a mad rush for us to send back what we owed, but apparently not rush enough because they left my check in a stack of mail and told me they didn't receive it. I canceled the check, then they found it, then they charged my credit card PLUS the fee even though it was...
Read moreThe staff was friendly. But was not a good stay from the first day. We rented a week from a couple that owned some timeshare with the place. If you dont have some sort of ownership you are treated bad by the ones that do. They are NOT kid friendly. They act like they own the whole building. and (which it was no fault of the condo) but we was staying during red tide. Totally sucked. During our stay for a few examples we was told BY DIFFERENT PEOPLE THAT HAS OWNERSHIP 1" you dont look like you belong here" 2 " I don't like kids dont think they should stay here" 3 fixing to get in the pool with my boys and hear this one old guy tell his wife "Well it was quite" 4 At the pool all you hear is the older people complaining. We just didn't feel welcomed by the other rude guest that has ownership. We did meet some awesome other couples and it was funny they all felt the same way but the place is very nice and has plenty of room and the staff is friendly. The staff just needs to get control over the other ones. OVERALL Tonight is our last night and wont be back. I may have the only bad review but it was my families experience at the...
Read moreHorrible!! I cannot believe all of the decent, and even nice reviews I am reading about this place- my husband and I left after staying just one night!! (And we had already paid for a week!) Walking up to the Voyager was like stepping into a time machine and going right back to 1972. It doesn’t seem that this place has been updated since then. But if you like signs, this is the place for you, as there are signs covering every inch of every public space, in this entire “resort”. The other guests were not very friendly, and we even watched one man passed out sitting in a chair next to the pool from early afternoon, until late at night (we were afraid he was dead, at first!). The beach is a super far walk, and you can barely see it from the balcony. And who puts up chain link fencing along with their regular balcony railings?!? The Voyager does, and it looks just awful (see pics)! The room was clean for the most part, except for the trail of blood droplets on the baseboard of our uncomfortable bed! If you enjoy feeling clean, comfortable, welcomed, and in the 21st century, do...
