There is a lot good at this place in comparison to other hotels on the boardwalk. We've stayed up and down the strip at quite a few and I would say this one is a fairly good stay.
The good: Location is great, not too rowdy with the nightlife/bar scene that tends to happen once it gets dark. The access to the beach is simple and a great spot as far as quantity of people. Everytime we've stayed here it's been busy but we've never had a problem finding a good spot on the beach or felt overcrowded. There's a sprayer right by the back patio area for cleaning up after the beach which is nice not having to walk down to the public sprayer that is usually crowded.
The breakfast is good too, nothing special (basic hotel buffet style breakfast) but it cuts down on spending and gets a meal in before a day on the beach.
We asked for a few things during each of our stays here and got them no problem (extra blankets, towels etc) and all the staff are pretty welcoming.
The outdoor pools are actually pretty nice, simple but adequate seating and even a hot tub. It was a plus going there when everyone got tired of the sand. They have an indoor pool that's pretty good and a nice gym.
We did have drinks at the bar downstairs and while they were good they were pricey ($38 for two basic mixed drinks)
On to the bad
The rooms have been "renovated" however I cannot understand how you can renovate an entire hotel but leave the obviously stained, old tubs in all the bathrooms. They are pretty gross looking and feeling. Also we had those shampoo, conditioner and body wash dispensers in the bathroom shower but upon check in the body wash was already ripped off the wall and just sitting on the side of the tub. Also there's next to zero storage to put clothes in these rooms. Two shallow drawers is all you get.
There is also only a small mini fridge and microwave for the rooms, this is fine I understand MANY hotels on the boardwalk only offer this but upon check in we had to sign a waiver (never saw this anywhere noted on the website) that no cooking devices not provided by the hotel were allowed. This included electric ones as well, meaning if you have a kettle or try to save a dollar or two by making some lunches with an air fryer you're out of luck (not that you have much room in the small mini fridge anyhow but it would have been nice to make some lunch there between swimming) if you are caught with it you're subject to a $350 fine.
And one of my biggest grips about this place is they don't honor Marriot bonvoy members very well. We're platinum elite and stay at ALOT of Marriot hotels throughout the year between business and pleasure. Everytime we have stayed here we have asked for the upgrade and every time we have been denied. First time I shrugged it off but second time I paid attention to the suites they said "were fully booked" They were not. The entirety of our stay we watched multiple empty suites sit there.. i understand having check ins later in the week but it's a little frustrating never getting the upgrade.
Overall this is a beachfront hotel in a tourist area. Expect some rust, some sand but it's a solid stay for the location just plan ahead on meals as best possible and maybe don't expect them to honor any perks you get by being a...

I had to stand under the shower for like 15 minutes to shampoo/condition with short hair because of how bad the flow is.||||Bath and faucet flow is great however.||||Heater/air conditioner compressor unit is located in the bedroom (very loud, hard to sleep). Check out my YouTube video to hear what that sounds like at 2:13 https://youtu.be/kG36r0epu3w?t=2m13s||||Thermostat does not maintain temperature (i.e. it hits set temp then just shuts off unlike your home thermostat). To restart you need to turn heat/cool off, then turn on again. Hard limit of heat of 80, but since thermostat is located at entrance on uninsulated wall, and your bedroom is next to an uninsulated window, it feels at least 5-6 degrees lower in there.||||The outside ambient temp was 55 at night when we visited (very windy). Even though we had the thermostat at like 75, the bedroom felt like 67. Was cold even with one comforter. We resorted to heating up the room before sundown and then turning off the heater so we could sleep without the compressor noise.||||Hotel provided extra comforter no problem. Jonas and Mundo (Edmundo) in maintenance were fantastic.||||Service from front desk was meh, service from other staff (maintenance, housekeeping, breakfast employees) was great however. I asked front desk lady if they had any lamps (pretty dark in the rooms) or oil heaters (not a fire risk) for the rooms and she said no. If the hotel got a few oil heaters that guests could borrow that would be a big improvement. Shower heads being upgraded to 2.5 gpm from 1.75 gpm (not even sure it does 1.75 gpm) would be nice.||||This is a get your own bags sort of place (Marriott down the street has someone who will help you). There isn't even a cold water dispenser available in the lobby next to the coffee containers.||||Free laundry washer & dryer (two of each, Whirlpool brand). Hotel needs to maintain them better (absolutely filthy for less than a year old), but maybe beggars can't be choosers?||||Lot more dirty than a coin laundromat (dryers look like lint filters have never been vacuumed, or Affresh tablets run with cleaning cycle for the washers). Laundry room is located on the 6th floor immediately on your left after exiting the elevators.||||You can buy single load powder Tide detergent & dryer sheets for $1 at the front desk.||||Free breakfast (some items like eggs/gravy/turkey and pork sausage rotate daily, but biscuits, cereal and waffles are available daily). Breakfast is open from 6:30 to 9:30 am daily||||Check in at 4:00pm, check out 11:00 am||||Hotel renovated April or May 2024.||||We paid $600 after all fees for 3 nights for three people in one suite with two queen beds on Fri 12/27/24 - Mon 12/30/24.||||Fun fact, there is no 13th floor in Springhill Suites (it is just skipped). 14th floor is the top floor. There is an indoor pool next to the elevators (I think it had sections of 3 ft and 6 ft when I peeked while walking by - don't quote me on the 6 ft).||||Would rate 3.5/5, but TripAdvisor doesn't let me do...
Read moreThe hotel is in a great location on Atlantic Ave. Near a lot of attractions, restaurants, & shopping. The rooms are nice & clean. The only issues I had were no sheets or pillows for the pull out couch & the handrail on the balcony was made of PCP pipe. The breakfast each morning was really good & filling with oats, eggs, sausage (switch daily between patties & links, then pork & turkey), biscuits, potatoes (on certain days), gravy (on certain days), cereal, grits (on certain days), pastries, bagels, muffins, breads, & waffles (on certain days). Juices: orange, cranberry, & apple. Had water, coffee, & teas all day. Both indoor, outdoor pools, & a fitness center. The outdoor pool has a grill & bar (open only Thursday to Sunday for a few hours). As for the 2 star rating for service, the reason is for a few reasons: 1) was charged $20 per day (unknown to us) for usage of the phone, pool bar, & convenient shop by front desk. 2) checking in the two staff members working the desk were not very friendly & acted like it was a nuisance when my wife asked for the total price (which she never did answer the question), she simply walked away after she gave the room cards to us. During our stay, other staff were friendly & helpful, the pool bar staff & pool attendants were friendly & helpful. There were some who just didn't seem like they wanted to be there. 3) they put two washcloths & four towels, & 4 hand towels in the room for six people. We called the front desk & asked for more washcloths & towels. They didn't bring any up that day, had to go down to the front desk the next day & ask again. They finally brought some towels, no washcloths, & six handtowels. Had the room serviced every other day & they would only leave two washcloths & four towels. On the second to the last day, after asking every day for washcloths, they finally brought nine washcloths, four towels, & no handtowels. The outdoor shower was partly broken, the foot part didn't work at all, the upper part only worked if you held the handle & pulled the shower head around to face the beach. On the last day as we we're finishing packing, we were not able to get a cart to put our luggage on for six people, because other poeple had grabbed carts & put them in their room overnight (hoarding them), definitely need more carts or a better way to control them. We were very disappointed in the experience we had, especially coming from a Marriott hotel. The only reason I have given a 3 star is the location & cleanliness of the room. I will have to really think about this before I'd stay here again or recommend anyone to stay here. Definitely need to change some things, like staffing morals, putting more washcloths & towels in the rooms, fixing the outdoor shower, having the pool bar open every day, then finally disclosing the $20 per day fee about the stay. If those things were corrected, I'd...
