Upon entering the room the cable box was hanging down below the widescreen TV. I didn't know what it was but it looked like things were falling apart. The room appeared austere. On closer inspection the room was very clean overall. It looked like the room had been remodeled but there was definitely no concept of color or Aesthetics. There was a stove microwave a full refrigerator and a cabinet with pots and pans but none of the lids fit any of the pans. This is a room that could sleep for people but the silverware had one steak knife. All of the cookware was non-stick but was severely scratched up. The dining table was merely a slab and the chairs were these very slender bottomed stools. There is no way anybody over 150 lb would be able to sit on these chairs. We wound up using the stools as TV trays while we sat on the couch and ate our meals and watched TV because there is no way those stools were comfortable to sit on for a meal. The lighting in the room was too bright. But if you turn them off you're sitting in the dark. The view of the ocean now was beautiful. It has a patio outside the room with two nice plastic chairs and a plastic table between them. They look new. In the kitchen area there was no sink stopper so the first day I washed the dishes and noticed that I just had to let the water run the entire time. When I asked the front desk for a sink stopper the facility was very quick and delivering one to the room. The teflon cookware was super scratched up. Also, on check-in, the safe in the room was broken. There were batteries missing, the faceplate of the battery box was off. I notified the front desk and the maintenance man came up and wound up completely removing the safe box and providing one that worked. He did an outstanding job. As far as the lobby in the hotel they have a Keurig machine that makes almost any kind of coffee you want. From Colombian, European, for 50/50. They provide sugar sweeteners non-dairy creamer half and half. My favorite was the espresso it was the best I ever had out of a machine. I had planned to use the exercise room which is just off of the pool room. The equipment was rusted , the treadmill the belt on it was worn so badly I would be afraid to use it . The exercise bike looked like it was okay . But the exercise room itself just looked filthy, small and tight . There's a sign that says to wipe off the Machinery before and after you use it but the wipes are placed against the wall in front of the treadmill bike and stepper and you can't get to the container of wipes . So I decided just to walk the boardwalk for daily exercise . The closet where you hang your clothes has no doors so everything you have is just hanging right out there .The pool is extremely small probably only 6 or 7 people could swim in it at the same time. But the sign says that the room can handle 29 people and that is most definitely unattainable! The couch however is very comfortable. It was long and at one end it had an extended portion of the couch. The king size bed was comfortable plenty of pillows and the Linens looked very clean. The bathroom when we first arrived had plenty of towels but one of the towels look like it had nasty stains of some sort on it . I don't know exactly what the stains were but there was no way I was using that towel . So I told the front desk and they said just put it out by your door. Which I did. The staff at the facility was very, very good.

Read moreYuck! Peeling paint falling into bathtub/shower, black mold or mildew covering seams where tub and shower walls meet in multiple places, hair still on several bathrooms surfaces, noticeable thick dust on shelving in bathroom, toilet runs constantly and sink doesn’t drain! Bed okay if you stay to the sides, but sinks in the middle. Kitchenette and living room okay but not linens provided for sofa bed until we asked at front desk; only a floor mat towel and 3 bath towels provided in bathroom; no hand towel or washcloths! We were on the 4th floor; ice and coke machines are on 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 8th floors. 3rd and 4th floors both ice machines not working and drink machines sold out or not working. Finally got ice on 5th floor, and a soda, but bottled water sold out both days we were there. We were woken our first morning to banging and all kinds of loud noise above us. We first assumed it was the people staying in that room maybe packing and leaving. Sadly, no. They are replacing the carpeting in the rooms on the 5th floor (much needed) and were working on the side of the building we were on, so this noise is daily and continues all day, 8am until around 4-5pm. While I understand the need to do repairs and maintenance, I feel that with it being off season and slow, they (a) should have informed us ahead of time, and (b) shouldn’t book anyone on the rooms directly affected by the noise when much of the rest of the hotel is empty. Pool and hot tub area was decent and appeared clean. Pool towels provided although you can’t take them back to your room (probably the standard protocol, but it means you still need to take your own to walk back to the room with if it’s cool like it is now). It’s off season, so the pool and hot tub were never crowded. However, I imagine it gets extremely full in peak season, given its size. Front desk clerk we spoke with was polite. Loved that there is a door that leads directly to the boardwalk and beach from main lobby, and is right across from the elevators! The view from the balcony is wonderful. A very small parking lot is available at the main doors (maybe 20 cars max), but it fills quickly and then parking is across the street in a parking garage shared with other hotels and shops. Only one parking pass per room is provided. Anyone else or visitors have to pay to Park in nearby garages and lots. They don’t replace towels or clean daily, due to Covid, but I realize this is typical of most places these days. We didn’t try the free breakfast after seeing lack of cleanliness in room; just opted to go elsewhere to eat. I cannot imagine paying peak season pricing for this place! I felt we overpaid for the quality, and we paid less than $100 a night! Spend a little extra and...
Read moreFast check in but disappointed to find out as RCI members we could NOT park in the front lot or 1st floor of the garage which is actually located across the street behind Pizza Planet. Also RCI members have to pay over a hundred dollars for the week for continental breakfast but the sign at the hotel said it was here which is confusing. We were tasked with completing a unit inventory within 24 hrs of arrival and I don't want to do that while on vacation. Pool and hot tub are inside and adequate. They provide towels but you have to leave them there. Our unit 522 was terribly located by the elevator. It was so noisy hearing it ding and people talk waiting for it. We never had a good night's sleep there due to noise but the bed and pillows were very comfortable. It is set up so you enter through the bedroom (closest to the hall and noise), then the bathroom and livingroom and kitchen combination. The view was fantastic. The room was filthy. There was a pile of sand by one nightstand and a piece of toenail in front of the same nightstand. The carpet had multiple stains. There were also stains on the curtain and lampshade. Hairs were stuck to the bathroom ceiling and food was splattered on the sides of the breakfast bar. Bugs were smooshed on the wall, and dead bugs were on the floor and around the top of one lamp. Dust was on the lamps too. My crawling baby's clothes were dirty from crawling on the floors. We reported the condition of the room as requested and housekeeping did call but we had to be out of the room for them to come and we never left at a time they were available. There was also no cleaning during the week due to COVID. We did receive more towels and toilet paper upon request. They did provide plenty of kitchen utensils and appliances and dish soap, coffee, bar soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion and a shower cap. They have a hose to rinse off with after being on the beach but the water pressure is way too high and I couldn't spray it directly onto my baby. Upon checkout there were no luggage carts available making it hard to checkout on time. Would be a much more positive experience if they were cleaner units and better sound proofed rooms. Great wifi and cable. I didn't like being tasked with having to strip the beds and leave all linens and towels outside the door as well as taking out our trash when our room was unclean to start. Not sure I would return. The staff we did encounter were friendly and there was notification that they are understaffed which may have contributed to...
