First, let me start by saying that the location of this hotel is great. Centrally located to many of the main attractions in Sioux Falls. The man who checked us in at the front desk was very quirky, rambling on about something his coworker had just said to him. He was nice enough and promptly checked us into our room However, upon checking in, I noticed a funny smell eminating throughout the lobby. On the way up to our second floor room, I noticed major stains all over the carpets in the hallway. Upon entering the room, it seemed generally clean until I went into the bathroom and saw that it was not fully clean. Stains and soap from previous guests were all over the place. Dead MOSQUITO ON WALL in sink area, next to the entry door The pillows on the bed were very, very tiny. The bed was comfortable. However, I turned the heater on in the room, and it smelled like burning rubber. After leaving to eat and returning, we made our way down to the hot tub/pool area. The hallway downstairs leading to the pool downstairs had stains all over the floor. Once in the pool area, we realized that not only was the hot tub broken, but filthy. The hot tub probably hasn't been cleaned properly for at least 5 years. I'm pretty sure that I've contacted athletes foot since walking barefoot to the hot tub from the table where I had set my belongings. There were stains and pink mold all over the hot tub and SAND lingering at the bottom of it. The floor drains were brown. Absolutely disgusting. Will not be staying there again. See pics.

Date of visit: July 11, 2023 We made our reservation while on the road, through Priceline. Reviews there seemed adequate and we wanted something with easy access. Normally the hotel should have easy access right off the interstate, however there was major road construction being done on the overpass we needed to cross to access the hotel, so be aware if you are traveling from the east. We arrived in the evening, so the lot was starting to fill up, but we didn't have a problem parking. The lobby is open, well lit. The clerk checking us in was courteous, though not friendly. His supervisor had much more of a friendly, customer service demeanor. Be sure to request extra towels upon checking in; we were a party of 3 and the room only had 2 bath towels. Ice machine is in a small alcove directly behind the office along with a vending machine. ATM machine available in the lobby. Elevator and stairs to access the second floor. Room was clean, quiet and comfortable. Some of the room amenities: iron, hair dryer, lots of bed pillows. They do offer a nice continental breakfast consisting of bagels, muffins, cereal, waffles, coffee, etc. There is also a pool which is open for the season. Across the parking lot is an IHOP restaurant and there is a gas station/convenience store next door. If you deem this review helpful, please give it a 👍.

First and last time staying here as pictures were VERY deceiving. Lighting was very dim, had a weird smell throughout, carpets looked old and dingy. Staff up front were not friendly or welcoming. Seemed like they were only there because they had to be, and when checking out, the lady seemed irritated at my husband for asking for a receipt. The bedding was disgusting. What looked to be dried blood on pillowcases and sheets, can definitely tell it had been washed and dried multiple times. Room had a hard time staying cool, and AC struggled to stay on. Housekeeping only came to grab towels, would pick and choose what trash cans would get empty. We were there for 4 nights. Pipes in the wall of the shower moved, toilet would run constantly and was very loud. If 0 stars was an option, that’s what I would give them. A waste of our money.

Dear Baymont By Wyndham Guest Relations,

Good evening!! Happy Tuesday!! I really, sincerely, and truly enjoyed my stay at Baymont By Wyndham on South Meadow Avenue near 41st Street from Sunday, July 21, 2024 to Wednesday, July 24, 2024 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I enjoyed myself so much last year when I added Monday to my reservation and so I decided this year to book my entire reservation for 3 nights instead of 2 nights like I originally did last year before adding my third night last year. I am so happy I did. I had a wonderful time this year, too!!

I am a Wyndham Rewards member. I look forward to my free night's stay with my earned points from this visit for next year. I will also have discounted nights earned, too. Yippee!! Skippee!!

The manager David Hurley and all the rest of the staff were awesome!! They were courteous, enthusiastic, friendly, helpful, kind, and pleasant. They were patient, supportive, and understanding. They were professional. Customer service was excellent and top notch. They took photographs of me at my request for my keepsake traveling scrapbook. They treated me like a queen, too!!

My hotel room had a king bed. I was so excited to have that room. I enjoyed it to the max. Big and roomy. Plenty of space to move around. The bed and pillows were so very comfortable. I slept like a rock every night. The bathroom was clean and I loved the shower. I would like to see extra large bath towels to go along with the other smaller towels. One can dry off better and get the entire towel around one's body. LOL!! I enjoyed watching TV especially the Hallmark movies, used the refrigerator to store my beverages/food, and used the microwave for my Olive Garden leftovers, too. The A/C worked like a charm. Climate controlled to my liking as well. My room was perfect in every way!!

I would like to suggest, however, if when booking reservations to please ask "smoking or non-smoking" room. I made the mistake or I forgot to make sure I got a non-smoking room. My room did smell of smoke. The strangest thing is I did not smell it at first. I would smell it after I left my room, went elsewhere, came back, opened the door, and then I could smell the smoke. Interesting and strange. I did not ask to switch rooms because I was thinking it would be too much of a bother and I had so much stuff. So, in my future visits non-smoking room please. Thank you!!

I did not have the time to enjoy the community amenities at the hotel during my stay this time around while there. The hot tub looked so inviting, but no time to enjoy it. I will do so next year. I did not get up and enjoy the daily breakfasts as I am a late sleeper, but I heard and read they were good. I did not use the fitness center nor the ice and vending machines. I was pleased to know they were available in case I needed them. One never knows what one might need. LOL!!

The elevator access was awesome. I cannot walk up the stairs due to medical conditions and medication side effects. Thank goodness for elevators. Always nice to have those carts available for transporting belongings to hotel room and then back to vehicle, too. Thank goodness!!

I really don't have any comments on the downside except for requesting larger bath towels to be made available or in each room. I did think of something right now. More of a curious statement. I noticed the bedding was mostly sheets and no real bedspread or comforter on top. I will have to inquire next time when I go there to visit. Sounds good!!

I hope my comments and review help you improve your business in every way. I am giving you positive feedback as well as a few minor things to improve the rooms. Best wishes and good luck to your company. I do plan to stay again next year. I really, sincerely, and truly look forward to seeing you all July 2025!!

Thank you for taking the time to read my comments and review. Have a wonderful night. Keep cool. It's a hot one out there!! Take care!! Be safe and stay well!! Goodbye for now!! God bless!!

Sincerely,

Diane Jennifer Peterson ~ Wyndham Rewards...

David the manager is incredible. Amazing bedside manners! Very friendly yet professional. Greeted me with smiles and positivity. Treated my kids very good. U can tell he really enjoys it what he does. David checked us in with such a great experience. He was very patient n took the time to explain everything. We went out to our vehicle to load up our things to bring to our room. When we walked back in, there was another man name Mike who was sitting at the desk. Before we even got to the elevator at 4.30pm he told me, my kids, n my father that if my kids are loud he's kicking us rite out. We went to our room. Laid down on the beds to watch tv. At 5pm our room phone rings. It's Mike harassing us about noise that he THINKS is coming from the floor I'm on. I said it's not us we are all sitting n laying watching TV. He continued to question me at 5pm. Around 6ish kids n I went down to the pool where once again Mike walks in to tell my kids not to get water outside of the pool and not to get it past the white line and he was very rude about this. Saturday rolls around and again my kids where harassed by Mike. He was laying back in a chair with eyes closed in the lobby. My son was waiting on someone by the door. Mike asked my kid what are u doing just standing here get away. When David was around he was smiles. When David wasn't he was harassing us non stop from Friday to Sunday the moment we checked in before we even got to our room. Saturday he kept walking back n fourth down our hall a couple times. My kids n I where completely on egg shells from the moment we got there due to Mike. We have always stayed here n celebrated birthdays here with never a problem. Due to Mike I would give it a negative star rating. But because of David and the rest of the staff I'm giving it a 4 star rating because they where all wonderful. If it wasn't for Mike I would of gave it a 5 star rating. For the price it's an amazing hotel with amazing staff other than Mike who harrased us instantly. He doesn't even know us but I did ask him for his name in front of David on Saturday as David walked with us down to the pool area to explain to us nicely that the hottub can't be used for a hour or so. The hotel was clean. The breakfast was amazing. We only ate it on Saturday morning not Sunday as we wanted to avoid Mike and his harassments. I'm not sure what Mikes problem was or why he started on us day one before we got to our rooms. Im not sure why he wouldn't let up on my kids n I. They where in bed early. Never ran through halls. Always walked slow and quietly to keep Mike off of us. My family witnessed this and couldn't believe it. It was all shocking. Never before have we ever been treated this way. The list keeps going but I don't feel like typing it all down. My kids n I remained very respectful and even walked around on tippy toes so Mike couldn't complain. Like I said other than being harrassed by Mike it was a good stay. All other staff where very polite, friendly, well mannered and very professional. I really do love this hotel and think it's...

This is the WORST and DIRTIEST hotel I have ever been to in my life!!! I don't normally write reviews but the way we were treated I feel everyone should know. First, there was hair all over the floor in the bathroom and in the bath tub and the trash can had a dirty Kleenex in it. There was also dust on everything and the floors had debris on them !! Second, there was hair and pubic hair all over the pillows and the top of the comforter. We pulled back the covers and found a ton of pubic hair, hair, a blood spot, boogers, dirt and debris under the covers on the sheets. BOTH BEDS!!!!!! Clearly this room was not cleaned but made to look like they did, because the beds were made VERY neatly. We immediately call down to the front office. They offered to switch us rooms, but we HONESTLY were afraid it was going to happen in other rooms also, so we opted to have them change our sheets to make sure we had clean bedding and pillows for our stay. We were told by the receptionist who changed our bedding that she would tell the manager and that this is unacceptable and we would be compensated for our stay. When we checked out the manager did not even apologize and he was there!! The Assistant manager spoke with us and she said that they "took care" of the problem by changing our bedding for us like we asked. Then she said the room was cleaned by a new housekeeper and she was young and just started. OMG!!! So that's why our room was completely disgusting and dirty the way it was???? NO EXCUSE IN MY OPINION!!!! If they don't know how to change bedding or clean a room then they need to be fired!!! Because that is their damn job!!! Not only was this disgusting an unacceptable but it is also a SERIOUS HEALTH RISK to my family!!!!! She then said, we said everything was fine after they changed the sheets so there wasn't a problem anymore and charged our credit card on file full price. Feeling completely disgusted I called the Wyndham Corporation and they also did nothing to handle the situation!!! Clearly the manager of the Baymont INN of Sioux falls sd lied to them about what really happened during our stay! Whyndam just told me the situation was handled and that the manager did apologize so there is nothing more they will do. JUST SICK AND WRONG!! I do not feel like we should have been charged for our stay. When I pay for a service or in this case a hotel room I expect to at least walk into a room with clean bedding and a clean room. Because that is what you pay for, not for a room that is completely not clean in every possible way and poses health risks! I am thoroughly disgusted with the service we received. I will be sure to let everyone know about our stay. No one should have to go through that, especially when they're hauling...
