Our waitress wasn't wearing her name badge, and, when we teased her, she said she was so well known people remembered her. We thought that was funny.
The food was good. My husband had half a sandwich and a piece of apple pie. I had the 55+ chicken fried steak with green beans and grilled asparagus. I then ordered a slice of Heath toffee bar (?) Pie. The decaf coffee and the cherry Coke my husband had were good, too.
She was friendly to each and every customer and asked us all to come back and see her again. A little boy gave her a tip from his mom, and our waitress knelt or sat on his level and told him he was cute, thanked him for the tip, and said she was glad she got to wait on him. At another table behind us a young man was disappointed with his cold basically uncooked asparagus and asked her to remove it from his tab. She was patient and kind, even apologetic. After she walked away, his friends got on to him for being rude, which he wasn't. He told them she didn't cook it and he told them of getting a expensive steak a night or two earlier which was overcooked for medium rare, and he said he wished he'd said something then. She came back with a adjusted check, and he thanked her.
It was a good experience all around. If I find our receipt, I will add our waitress' name, because she is a valuable asset to your company and should be rewarded monetarily the next time she is reviewed,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFor this visit, we had a large group, 12, to be exact. We had our name on the wait list for one hour before we were seated... broken up to fill three booths. Two booths on one side, one on the other of the walkway leading to the restrooms. Let's just say there was no conversation between booths... it wasn't possible.
Our server was clearly new at her job. She was unfamiliar with the menu and what side dishes were available as part of each entree. She came around only one time during the entire course of our visit to offer drink refills to those that weren't drinking coffee.
The food came out of the kitchen in three "waves" that were about eight minutes apart. The first people in our group to get their food were half done, or more, with their meals by the time the final plates were delivered. I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken Biscuit Breakfast. I'm quite positive the chicken was nothing more than one small chicken tender split between the two biscuits on the plate. I cut the first biscuit in half only to find not even a scrap of breading in the one entire half. At least one quarter of the second biscuit shared the same lack of chicken. The shining star on the plate was the breakfast fries. They were crispy...

Julio is on top of the game when it comes to managing Perkins, and has customer service in his back pocket and wears it like a lucky charm. All the servers that Iāve had the pleasure of being waited on by are always attentive, upbeat, sociable, and knowledgeable about the menu offerings. I come here pretty regularly, whether to dine in or take it to go, and it never disappoints. The bakery items, the cookies are my fave but they got some damn good pies too, are spot on. The only things I would diss on is the coffee, which is not all the good in my opinion. And since itās not too good, I wish they offered flavored creamer to go with it like French vanilla or hazelnut. And the assistant manager, wonāt mention names, has been rude to me on two separate occasions. Itās like she has never had a good day in her life, and she takes it out on the customers, but her staff more so. Being condescending to your employees in front of your customers ā something I bore witness to ā is one of the most disrespectful actions and not a managerial trait in the least. Not sure why she is management when clearly other servers would be all than more suited for...
