This was the third place I stayed at on a recent business trip and I liked the other two more. Although it appears to have been renovated recently, you can tell it's an old building and I think most of the renovations were purely cosmetic. You could tell most of the fixtures (like the doors and elevator) weren't part of the renovations, but the design philosophy is really where its age shows. For example, my room had a door going to the room beside mine. That's not really something hotels do these days. Probably the worst part about this place is the restaurant on the first floor: it's an Undo's and it's quite popular with the locals. There's nothing wrong with having a restaurant on-site (it can even be a good thing), but many of the parking spots get taken up by people eating at the restaurant. When I checked in, it was thundering in the lobby because of the amount of people waiting to go inside the restaurant, and there were quite a few people smoking outside next to the entrance. Undo's might bring in a lot of business and, in turn, revenue to the hotel, but I think it's bad for the hotel's business overall. Personally, I don't want to go to a hotel that has no close parking because all the parking has been taken by people eating at a restaurant and I certainly don't want to have to walk through cigarette smoke to get into the place. Also, I was disappointed to find out that they didn't offer a continental breakfast - when I asked about it, I was told I could order from the restaurant. I didn't have the time to order from a restaurant and would have preferred the continental breakfast. Despite the building's age and the Undo's crowd, it's a decent hotel. Staff was fantastic at helping me out with everything I needed and I had no issues with waiting to...
Read morethis is my third time attempting to write this review so I will make a long story short, drove over 6 hrs to check in. hassle checking in with my info. found bed bug, called front desk, lady sent housekeeping to get bug so I can "stay in the room with no problem". I am not sleeping in a bed where there was a tiny bug crawling around, as no human being shoud be subject to such. front desk was annoyed with me requesting room change, and seemed more obsessed with identifying the bug than my comfort. changed my room but didn't notify me that there was renovations goijng on during the day while I was trying to sleep so I could be well rested for the shift I was goijng to be working from 6pm to 7am. I almost always stay with IHG and never have a complaint. There is almost never an issue and when there is, it's taken care of immediately and the fronk desk always treats me exceptionally well and makes me fell welcomed at all times. this time was diffent and I'm not happy. I understand renovations have to take place to keep the hotel to the highest standards of quality, but a notification would have been appreciated. Now as far as the bed bug situation, The moment I called for a bug in my bed, there was no reason that front desk thought removing one bug should be sufficient for me to remian in that room. There was no evidence to support that there were no more bugs in the bed or in the room. Not a place I would prefer to stay again if I have to work in that area...
Read moreGood day, I was recently back in my home town for an unexpected family event. Automatically, I booked a stay at the Three Springs Drive Holiday Inn, where my family always books for family events when back in our home town. I was able to book under my Govt/Military discount which was most helpful for a two night' stay and made it much more affordable. The front desk staff and greeting was very courteous and gracious.
The room was very spotless and the appearance very inviting, and the bathroom very spacious. There were just a few things that can be improved that would have made my stay more comfy and perfect. The lighting in the bathroom could have been brighter, especially for applying makeup. It was very dim. The quality of the toilet paper was quite poor and actually after two day use, I experienced discomfort from using the toilet paper that was very rough and not soft at all. The bed and pillows were too soft for me to sleep comfortably, as I prefer a more supportive mattress and pillows for better back and neck support. So sleeping was very intermittent both nights. A combo of pillows (both soft and more firm) would have been better, along with a firmer mattress. Other than these few issues, my stay was nice and the hotel very clean and quiet and pleasant. The locale had several restaurants and stores near by, which was very good, and it was close to my local family members still in the area and to the family funeral I was attending....
