This is by far the worst experience that we have ever had buying a homecoming dress. We normally shop at a larger store in Columbus but thought we would try a local shop. BIG MISTAKE! First of all they do not have many size options and most dresses have to be ordered and this is where our problems began! Our homecoming is at the end of September so I thought shopping at the beginning of July would give us plenty of time. Ordered the dress on July 9th and was told it would take 2-4 weeks to come in, 6 at the latest. Well here we are, August 31st and no dress! I called the shop two weeks ago to get the status, which is another customer service issue. The person who answers the phone never knows anything about dress orders. Always has to call you back. A day or two later I get a returned call and she states that the dress just shipped that day, August 17th. I called the shop again August 30th at noon to get the status of the dress and yet again was told that they would have to check and call me back. Heard nothing. Called at noon on August 31st and was told that Portia and Scarlett are based out of Australia so they are having a hard time reaching them. I explained that I am feeling very uneasy about this entire situation. We now have less than a month until our homecoming and we don't have a dress! I then told her that two weeks ago someone from J Jones told me that the dress shipped. She had no details on that. Once again, they will have to call me back. Whatever you do, DO NOT purchase a dress from J Jones that they have to order! It's been a...
Read moreMy experience was very unprofessional. Alterations were double and triple booked. The alteration weren't even what I would consider acceptable, they were very expensive and my daughter's dress was not steamed and put on a bust form as promised. I was told if I returned the dress within 1 week of her prom that we would receive half of the purchase price towards the next purchase, but when the dress was taken back, mysteriously no one new what we were talking about. Every time we tried to get info pertaining to this, we were given the run around, referred to different people and never receiving return phone calls. After 2 months of this hassle, the owner finally answers the phone and proceeds to explain consignment to us. I understand consignment and that was far from the agreement. I know what I was told and would never have accepted potentially $150 for a dress I paid almost $700 for not counting alterations. We have always gone to Universal Bridal in the past and I will make the hour and a half drive again or go to Pittsburgh or Columbus before I would ever buy from this place again. The dresses are over priced anyways. You just lost a customer and any potential...
Read moremy sister went in to J.Jones the other day and put on one of the dresses and absolutely loved it. when she went to one of the staff members to buy the dress they had called her fat and down graded her. but just to top that all off the owner herself told my sister that she didn’t have the money for the dress and continued to call her fat and down grade her! this is the most sickening stuff! how do you expect girls to go into your dress shop and feel themselves and feel pretty when you down grade them! it shouldn’t matter on your body type or the way you look or the way you dress! you shouldn’t be doing this type of work if your gonna be negative and rude to girls about there body! it shouldn’t matter about the body type...
