Took my son when he was 8 yrs old, at the strong advisement of his school, even though I'd already taken him to a previous appt at the same eye Dr only a few months prior. Since we'd already been told by them that his eye sight was fine, my husband and I think they were insulted that we were back so soon. Even though we were very clear that the school wanted this appt, the staff was very nice but it was the Dr who was CRUEL with my 8 yr old! Refusing to allow either of us parents to accompany our son, bc he planned to do a test that my husband who is a lifelong wearer of glasses, would have put a stop to! He absolutely TERRIFIED our son of having eye exams, to the point that he still has EXTREME anxiety to this day when he has to have a check up. That appt was our last with this Dr, who doesn't deserve to be practicing.. we took our son to Weirton Eye Clinic just 3 wks later. Which was heartbreaking for both my husband and I, as our son had a complete meltdown due to the trauma he'd experienced with this Dr. Mind you, his new eye Dr diagnosed his with an astigmatism, WITHOUT ANY INVASIVE, PAINFUL, EXAMS! He was warm and welcoming and went above and beyond to help our son, even though he'd been crying uncontrollably for quite some time.. it wasn't an issue at all for his new Dr to preform the exam, make the diagnosis, and find the correct prescription for his glasses. The Dr at this office, claimed that he had to do the painful exam on our son bc he'd been crying for all of 3 minutes... AND STILL, AFTER 2 APPOINTMENTS WITHIN 8 WKS, WASN'T COMPETENT ENOUGH TO DIAGNOSE AN 8 YR OLD KID WITH AN ASTIGMATISM, HE CLAIMED OUR SON HAD 20/20 VISION! I'd not have given 1 star but it's required for a review and I seen it say they're highly rated. Probably paid for the reviews or did them...
Read moreI have been a patient of Dr Pendrakey for many years and when he retired I decided to go to another doctor. I decided to come back because Dr Davis did an excellent job with my husband. I had my eye exam with Dr Davis and he was great and then I go to pick out new glasses. The woman who was helping me was very destructed with her husband being in the office with a family problem and I felt very hurried and rushed. I get a call to pick up my glasses and my bifocal is incorrect so different woman measures them again and sends them back out. I go to pick them up a second time and the bifocal is still not right. So after talking down to me like I had never worn bifocals before, which I have worn for years, she finally goes and gets my chart and takes my old glasses to check prescription. After she returns she realizes that the prescription in my new glasses isn’t correct so they have to sent out again. I finally get my glasses and I can see out of them but they are not transition lens which I always get. I called today to ask about it and when I questioned she transferred me to the lens girl but not before I heard her say “ I’m done”. I talked to the lens her who was very rude and was told that I didn’t pay for the transition lens and I told her that I always get those and she again explained to me exactly what I paid for rudely. I told her this has been very frustrating and that I heard the last lady and wasn’t very happy with that. So after three trips to get my glasses right they still are not. I think that it is a shame that the doctor was so nice and that the office staff is so...
Read moreFirst of all when I was making the appointment they said they had no availability for over a month. I went there years ago and liked them so I decided to wait it out. I go to my appointment 45 days later and when I get there, I am the only person in the place, not one other customer. So I am now thinking, I waited that long when they have hardly any customers? I didn't even really get started after asking what the cost would be. They told me they could not be exact until I got my eye exam done and to just pick out frames for now. The prices on the frames were hidden so I asked them what the starting (lowest) price would be for progressive lenses in "any" frame. They told me it starts at $250 out of pocket plus my insurance. I told them the price was ridiculous and no wonder they didn't want to discuss it. They then refused to answer any more questions until I got my eye exam. I told them, "Why would I get my eye exam here, if I need to get the glasses elsewhere?" Also, from what I read on their reviews, they do not like to give out your prescription so you have to spend a fortune there. Then they started throwing out other prices. I didn't realize eye doctors were now like dealing with a used car salesman. This place is NOTHING like it was when Kucher was in Burgettstown. So I called and went to America's Best 3 days later, (yes, 3 days to be seen vs 45 days), and got the eye exam and glasses with progressive lenses for $8.95 total with insurance. You may want to roll that idea around before wasting your time or getting ripped off. Do you want to pay...
