Tun Tea House — Restaurant in Weirton District

Before this incident, I really enjoyed going here for drinks, playing the games that are provided, and it was a great place overall to enjoy the company of who I had with me. But recently, there was a situation where one of the people that I usually have by my side during my visits was treated unfairly by the staff. This person went there often, looked forward to their plans of going there, and talked about this place wonderfully. They were a genuine, regular customer. That was put on hold when the Tun Tea staff decided to tell them that their “workers are scared of them”. They were extremely upset about this because they really look forward to spending time and enjoying drinks at this business. On top of the fact that no one deserves this treatment regardless, this person has autism. Autism is a wide spectrum and this person specifically struggles with socializing. They have been working on their socializing skills, learning to come out of their shell, and the workers at one of their favorite places to go told them that their workers are scared of them. I consider the treatment they gave them extremely unfair and inappropriate. Especially in the case that when you get a job like this, you are aware that you will communicate with people of all kinds, including people with disabilities. I hope their staff learns to respect and be friendly towards people with disabilities. I really enjoyed going here before this situation, but because of this I will no longer be supporting it. Update: I am not using their disability as an excuse in any way, shape, or form for them to be treated differently. No one deserves this treatment, disability or not. I always enjoy getting drinks here every once in a while. Usually always pleased with service and drinks. However, tonight I was disappointed in the way the worker treated me. I walked in around 6:45, (thinking they closed at 8 because that’s what it said online, not knowing winter hours are only till 7.) If I would have realized that’s how close it was to closing I wouldn’t have gone. I have worked in food service for 4 years now so I understand it can be frustrating. But I would never be ignorant and mute to a customer. I walked in and greeted the worker nicely and got no response, went on to order my 2 small drinks and go to pay she says nothing and walks away to make my drinks. I went to sit down after about 10 minutes the girl slaps my drinks on the counter meanwhile i’m on my phone waiting. Didn’t even get a “hear ya go” or “enjoy” she still says nothing, so I got up to grab my drinks and walked out. I never leave without saying thank you, but I did tonight and that says a lot. On my way out she follows me and immediately shuts the open sign off. I’m not one to complain, i’m on the other side of this almost everyday. She came off as being very irritated and rude, by not saying a single word even after I was trying to be polite. 🧋New favorite boba tea spot in the area!!

Boba Tea- Ordered the Thai Tea and Black Sugar Milk Tea with boba, and it was absolutely delicious. The tea had a perfect balance of sweetness and creaminess, and the boba was cooked to the ideal texture. It was chewy and had a slight caramel flavor, which complemented the tea nicely. I was very impressed with the quality of the drink.

Vibe- The decor of the cafe was impressive. It had a very modern and sleek design, with comfortable seating and stylish lighting fixtures. So I would definitely recommend this like a cafe to work from. The color scheme was mostly green and white, which created a calm and inviting atmosphere. The cafe was also very clean and well-maintained, which added to the overall positive experience.

Location- You will see this off the highway on your right if you’re driving south. Located in the very end of the plaza. Ample parking spots.
