Barrio Burrito Bar — Restaurant in West Des Moines

I was so excited to try this place as they offer so many more toppings and options. However, I placed a take out order online and my two bowls portions, even though the same size, were drastically different. They were obviously made by 2 different employees. One bowl had all the correct ingredients but varied in amounts of toppings. One bowl was missing several ingredients and lacked in the amount toppings. I really wish you could customize the amount of the toppings you are adding but maybe you have to be in the store to do that?? We also got the Oreo churros they were not good. Walked in to a friendly “Welcome to Barrio!” The inside is cute and was very clean. I got a burrito. I love their increased selection of proteins when compared to Chipotle, panch, or Qdoba. I went with the crispy chicken and it was fantastic. I love that they grill your burrito as well. The Jalapeño salsa and “Burrito Sauce” are great enhancements. Love that I can get cilantro. They just opened this spot a few days ago and I really liked it!! the food is fresh and flavorful.
