We are long standing Sleep Number customers, we are on our second bed.
We made a decision to purchase a headboard for our current California King split mattress bed. We looked online and visited a Sleep Number store in Gilbert AZ, where we were located throughout the Winter. The store in Gilbert AZ was very nice and had a display of the different type of headboards and upholstery styles. They were very helpful and offered to let us order the headboard at their location, as it would take 6 weeks before the headboard could be delivered and we would be back home by then. We chose not to do this as we wanted to measure our bedroom etc. to make sure that the headboard would fit.
Once back home we measured our bedroom and everything was a go. We were excited and went to the local Sleep Number store, where we had made the initial purchase of our bed.
We were greeted by an employee who attempted to be helpful. The first thing we noticed was that the store had very few display headboards. The store was so sparsely stocked that we wondered if they were going out of business.
The employee showed us sample boards with pictures of headboards and color swatches. Since we had already done online research and had seen samples in Gilbert AZ, we were comfortable ordering a headboard that day. We also decided to purchase a bed skirt for our adjustable bed platform.
The employee went to work placing the order through the Sleep Number computer system. At first, he was able to order both the headboard and the skirt, but then had a problem with the skirt. He said that within the system it had discounted the skirt to approximately $13 to $15. That sounded good to us. But before he could finish the transaction he got a message saying the skirt would be back ordered, and was ultimately unavailable. We told him to void the order of the skirt and we would get it at a later time.
The employee finished the order and got a delivery date from the system for the headboard. The delivery date is June 21, over 2 months out. We were a little confused as the Gilbert AZ store indicated it would be approximatley 6 weeks.
The following day, while at home, I went onto the Sleep Number website and ordered the skirt and it has been shipped, but it was not at the discounted price, (which was no big deal). No back order and no problem.
So, we are happy to have ordered the headboard, and we look forward to it's arrival, as well as the arrival of the bed skirt. We like the product, but the appearance of the store and the interaction was just a bit confusing.

Seriously Andrew was professional, honest, genuine...my wife and I really felt he cared about our quality of sleep and respected our budget! Being Great Salespeople ourselves of course we "stepped ourselves up" from a C-4 to an i-8...that’s NOT Andrews fault however he really answered all our questions and I had a ton! Now Christian Markuson is always so positive, joyous, and friendly he just was the LAGNIAPPE as they say down in good ole New Orleans! Lagniappe for you Mid-Western folk is Cajun for "a little something extra" or "added bonus gift". Speaking of which Christian is such a jokester! The wife and I didn't know we were so special until AFTER we made the decision to purchase. Of course, we had to tease both Andrew and Christian by stating "we wanted to go home and sleep on it first" to which Andrew replied well in about 2 weeks when your new i-8 arrives you can! BAM-TOUCHE! Anyway, so we find out we are "INSIDERS"...no not a hot stock IPO tip! It was because we purchased a Select Comfort aka Sleep Number bed a thousand years ago so as "INSIDERS" we got the July discount AND the 24 months Interest Free AND another discount on the base. Oh...yeah, the adjustable base...so I need to back up. We came in figuring on spending maybe $3,000 on a mattress and maybe a flat foundation. Well that all changed when Andrew got us into ZERO-GRAVITY on the i-8 with the adjustable base! DONE! SOLD! could have been Fifteen Grand (don’t get any bright ideas Sleep Number CFO!) and we would probably still seriously have considered it. Life changing! Anyway, super long story short...great experience and we are super excited to get our Bed on July 5th and sleep like babies all night...and don't forget that SCRAP-BOOKING part! That's important...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. We had a ridiculous experience in the store having our bed ordered without the base. And had to get a completely Downgraded bed due to the salesman not accurately including the base price and our first option so we had to downgrade to a complete other bed and have our entire sale restarted. I asked what it would look like and no one informed me that the base is actually the boxspring so the whole time we thought we were getting an actual bed stand or a real base so now our bed was delivered with just the boxspring that sits on the floor (I am 38 weeks pregnant and this going to make it extremely hard to get out of bed and uncomfortable) No one informed us that a base is actually a damn box spring. The bed gets delivered and they told us we had to have a three prong outlet which no one told us when we bought the bed that that it has to have a three prong outlet Out of everything The bed delivered is damaged when it’s delivered and we have to wait even longer for a correct non-damage bed to be delivered so we don’t even know if our sleep number right now that’s delivered even works right because the delivery guys couldn’t even figure out how to set it up with our Internet so we have to try and figure out how to set it up ourselves.
