I went to Costco as a InstaCart shopper. I had a easy order, and headed to check out. Everything up until this point was okay, but then I went to a cashiers lane. She was very rude from the beginning, making sly/rude remarks. The way she was acting towards me and my spouse was beyond unprofessional. She REFUSED to let me use Apple Pay, and said it was because of my appearance, and that I must show her my membership card immediately. I did so, and she said pay with my normal card. NO PROBLEM. But, I have a credit card. I pull it out and she says “ If you try with credit, I’m cancelling the order.” So I looked at her and said excuse me? And she then cancelled the order, and told me to pay it out of MY OWN POCKET. Which, instacart orders are you picking others orders up, and paying with the instacart shopper card. But she said “ You are going to pay for it yourself.” Then she started talking to the other surrounding employees about how I needed to leave and laughing. I have never felt such disrespect in my life. It was hard to even walk out of there for my husband, as he wanted to turn around and say something and confront her. This lady should not be working for Costco in WEST DES MOINES IOWA. I will be cancelling MY membership, and never returning. I have reached out to all of my co workers, and family/friends as well. They agreed that it was way out of hand. Do not do business here, as they are very unprofessional. I will be taking my membership money, and going to the beautiful sams club from now on. Read moreI have been a loyal customer for 21 years , I have had to get a new prescription for eye glasses every two years, I have purchased over 30 pairs of glasses from Costco, today I asked to exchange a new pair because they were too big. The girl said the manager was on vacation and I had to come back in two weeks, I explained that I didn't live in this city any longer and asked if another manager could help me. Be careful what you ask for, a manager named Nicole came over and did nothi g but argue with me about exchanging them, I yold her I needed someone to help me find a correct size and this young man named Troy was the only person who had ever taken the time to actually show me frames in my size. The manager told me to come back in two weeks so the manager of optical could me???, I explained I was leaving on a vacation and that wouldn't work. I asked why Troy couldn't help me when he was finished with his customer?? Then the manager kept arguing about the fit of my glasses to the point I said listen now you're just embarrassing and trying to humiliate me for wanting a pair of frames that dont fly off my head when I'm playing sports. I didnt embarrass her when I told her Costco lost my old frames and made me buy another pair asap a couple years ago. Got a check ha ha meaning it was a certificate to spend at costco. Thought i would buy Christmas dinner and uae our certificate 123.00 dollara. Got our food and went to check out. Credit was only for 23.00. What i thought was a credit was our new renewal fee.
Yikes never came close to getting the return in our initial invenstment. Decided them to return everything before we left the store. After al i would get better benefit at Hyvee with gas points and coupons.
Tryiing to return was a nightmare. Mind you we had never left the store. Took 5 people 2 managers and an hour later before we got a refund and they got theie stuff. What a nightmare.
Nothing ia convenient and who says buying in bulk is a good thing. In a society of excess stuff and spending finding that costco doesnt save they just try to convince that more is less.
