DXL Big + Tall — Local services in West Des Moines

My husband and I visited this location for the second time due to the superior service we received from Jim the first time, and to take advantage of the 20% off Fit Exchange Program. We were sad to see Jim wasn't working but were quickly greeted by Sophie. She provided the same type of exemplary service that we experienced before with Jim. She was happy to help by looking up my husbands pants size on the computer, and showing us where the items were located. At checkout Sophie pointed out the dxl cologne next to the register and mentioned it was also eligible for the 20% off. My husband initially declined and we finished the checkout process with no issues. By the time he made it out to the car he changed his mind about wanting the collage(which smells amazing by the way) and asked me to go back inside and get it. I expected to pay full price since we had already completed the first transaction, but Sophie took the 20% off again without me even asking. I'm not sure what they are putting in the water at this location, but Jim and Sophie are obviously a different breed of salespeople. Customer service like this is will keep myself and I'm sure many others picking this store and location over...

Staff was very helpful. However, I was disappointed in the size selection. I wear 38" sleeves and would be someone that would wear XLT or LT. There were few clothes for men that are tall, but not as big in the stomach (more athletic build). I have an impossible time finding clothes that fit my arms/shoulders that aren't extremely baggy everywhere else. We looked online while in store and there were few options there, as well. The staff told me they have a tailor, but i am not going to pay extra for every shirt that I buy. I ended up buying a Carhartt LT long sleeve t-shirt that fit amazingly. It was the only one in store and we found it in clearance.

Summary: I implore DXL to carry more LT and XLT clothing. There are a lot of taller men out there that have difficulty finding clothes...

Outstanding service! Outstanding prices! First time shopping here is the date of this post. I've been looking for a store like this and I finally found it. They will be seeing a lot of my money!!!

UPDATE: I shopped at DXL Big &Tall for the second time for my birthday (10-22-2020) and had a wonderful experience. The service rep was outstanding and was very helpful. I was really in need of some new trousers and a pair of really comfortable black dress shoes and the he was able to find me EXACTLY what I looking for. I sincerely wish they were closer to my home, but it's truly worth the drive to DXL to get what I am in need of. I SIMPLY LOVE THIS COMPANY. I hope they find it possible to open more...
