The location of this hotel is great. It's not too far from much of anything but if you have T-Mobile as a phone provider then you may want to consider staying somewhere else. The entire time we had no phone service in our room. SOS was in full effect the entire time of our stay which caused me to have to go downstairs and outside anytime I needed to make a call. My family was hit by the tornadoes in Tallahassee and couldn't get a hold of me due to this. Even in the lobby I had no service. I asked to be moved but the front desk stated it wouldn't matter where she moved me it would be the same. Had I known this ahead of time I would have booked a different location. The Front Desk staff was ok...there was one Front Desk agent that actually spoke when we walked in Thursday night! If you don't have that great of service in the area at least provide great customer service. The gentleman that worked the 3pm-11pm shift unwelcoming and rude every time I saw him. As an employee of Marriott it was unfortunate to see someone who doesn't even acknowledge you standing right in front of them and then speaks in unpleasant tone. He would be better on the overnight shift where he doesn't engage with many people. Also, the long bottles of water in the Marketplace, I purchased about 3 of them and the young lady who I originally bought the first one told me they were $1.90, to it was to my Suprise when I got my bill that they were $4.00. The shower in our room was not clean, but I bring my own products, so I cleaned it, and then if someone flushes the toilet or is using hot water it makes this loud sound where the water is pulsating and that was very annoying. The only thing that was great about this hotel for me was the location and the pool but was very disappointed with...
Read moreThis hotel was brand new when I stayed there in February 2022 (9 weeks old at the time I was told). It was very clean, quiet and comfortable. All of the employees I dealt with were helpful and friendly.
The daily breakfast was convenient and more like what you got in hotels prior to the pandemic, so I was glad to see that since some hotels drastically limited or did away with their breakfast offerings entirely. Some items it featured were waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, a couple of dry cereal options, milk, yogurt, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, water, juice and coffee.
The room had a mini fridge and microwave which were convenient along with numerous USB charging outlets. My room also had a large walk-in shower with a glass door.
I didn't use the fitness room but it was clean and spacious and had towels, treadmills, kettlebells and dumbbells - all new equipment. I did go in a few times to fill water bottles in the filtered water dispenser there, so that is a tip that may be helpful to others. The hotel also always had ice water infused with lime in the breakfast area.
Ice machines and laundry were located on each floor (of the two floors I saw at least) which was convenient. The laundry room on my floor had a single washer and dryer and you could use an app or a credit card to pay for them as opposed to just cash/coins.
The only downside I experienced which was not the hotel's fault is that cell service for me was bad there (I have T-Mobile). I had no reception whatsoever in my room and only 1-2 bars in the pool and lobby areas but that was at least enough to check email and text. The hotel did have free wifi though so that is a backup option.
I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to...
Read moreOur stay at Fairfield Inn & Suites West Palm Beach started off very well. The booking process was smooth, quick, and efficient. During check-in, the young lady with the pretty nails was friendly, fast, and accommodating. She provided us with the extra items we needed, answered all of our questions, and even gave us a nice pool-view room — her customer service was excellent.
However, there were several areas that could be improved. The WiFi and television service were unreliable, frequently going in and out. The shower in our bathroom had dark spots that, while they may have been scrubbed, still appeared dirty and should be replaced.
The most disappointing part of our stay was the interaction with Mike at guest services the evening before checkout. I called to ask about checkout time, and his tone was very short and unwelcoming. When I called again for my mom to inquire, he offered a 1 p.m. checkout but made my mom feel uncomfortable during the conversation, which left a negative impression. This was a simple request that could have been handled with more care and professionalism.
Because of the poor evening customer service experience, we have decided to cancel the stay we had reserved for September. While there were positives, the overall guest experience, especially in the area of service, needs...
