Would like to start by saying longhorn is definitely 1 of my favorite restaurants definitely me and my partners go to spot where we know we’ll enjoy ourselves. Yesterday we decided to go for lunch, once we arrived we were immediately greeted and seated. After about 15 minutes our waiter finally came over and took our drink order and we also put in an order for an appetizer. After waiting awhile “again” the drinks finally arrived as well as the Wild West shrimp “which is our absolute favorite”. I took a sip of my drink which is the most expensive drink on the menu “Don Julio margarita” and it tasted nothing like I previously just had the prior week and the shrimp was very burnt. So burnt and drenched in grease that my partner refused to eat it, I was very surprised because like I previously started this is a favorite of ours. The waiter returned to take our food order and I explained to him that I apologize for the inconvenience but I would like to switch the drink for something else and I also explained why “at this time I didn’t even mention anything about the shrimp as I didn’t want it to seem like I was just complaining about everything”. Once our food arrived he did bring me a replacement drink which was okay. I had salmon and my partner had chicken, my rice was extremely cold and salmon was over cooked and my partner’s chicken and macaroni was cold. It seems as if our food was left out while our baked potato’s were being cooked because they came out very nice and hot. We were both very disappointed and decided to take a couple bites and asked for Togo boxes as we were over it. As we were boxing our food the manager came over to pick up plates and ask how everything was, I explained to her everything I stated above and also stated that I’m not sure if they are under staffed at the moment but we come all the time and this was the first time I’m leaving not satisfied. I let her know I was just there last week and Stephanie was my waitress and everything/ she was excellent “I tipped her 20%”. She was very sweet and offered to remove the appetizer from the tab my exact response was “oh no ma’am I ate the shrimp so I’ll pay for it, I’m not looking for anything for free I just wanted to make you aware of our experience and despite everything I’ll make sure I tip the waiter”. She thanked me and moved on. My partner paid with a card while I continued to finish my drink so we can leave, please keep in mind we go here all the time so we know exactly how much our food will come up to and what we need to tip “we took cash our prior to our arrival just to make sure the person who assisted us had the tip in cash”. My partner signs the receipt which of course states 0 tip because we have cash, I’m still sitting there drinking my drink the waiter literally comes over grabs the receipt looks at in right in front of us and says “WILL YOU BE TIPPING IN CASH?” that was the last straw for me I felt totally disgusted and disrespected as no matter the service I receive we always tip. I didn’t want to cause a scene so I just responded “yes we will” but I was completely taken aback. I’m convinced he needs to be retrained, I think it also had a lot to do with RACE!! After that I didn’t want to tip AT ALL but my heart wouldn’t not let me so we still tipped 15%. Not sure when or if...
Read moreOnce upon a time, LongHorn was the steakhouse we would most frequently visit. Our last 3 visits have made us wish we had chosen a different place to dine but still as till returned, thinking it was just the wrong time, night or just an off day. While on oir way to the restaurant, I called to reserve a table or place my name on the wait list. It took forever to get someone on the line and once I did, was told that they did not take reservations or placed you in the wait list with a party of 7 but it states online that you should call the restaurant if you have a party of 7 or larger. At that point we were less than 5 minutes away and although confused by the information given, I dismissed it and walked a few minutes later and checked in with the front desk. The wait was not too bad, about 20 minutes or so. On two of the three most recent visits, they tried to sit a party of 9 in a curvy booth-like where the table possibly fits 4 people at most but the seat curves giving more space to sit, allowing each person to have a corner of the table. The first time this happened, we had to request another table since there was no way we could all fit, which caused for more of a waiting time, after having waited about 40 minutes to begin with. That same table was suggested during our last visit with a party of 7 with a high chair. We said we didn't think we would fit but they insisted we would. It was chaotic to say the least. There was no space for the plates and drinks. The food was mediocre and aside from the excessive pepper usage on the stakes, the meat was flavorless. The cocktails were questionable. I had a mango margarita and the only thing I could taste was the alcohol, no flavor. We were highly disappointed and after giving them several tries, we don't see ourselves returning to this...
Read moreArrived on a Saturday evening around 7:30 pm with a party of 7. The wait was 30 minutes which was expected on a Saturday night. But what we were not expecting was the wait time for our food and lack of service. We sat down at around 8:00 pm at the back of the restaurant at a somewhat small table but since it was "busy" we had no other option. We requested a high chair for my son which was never given to us. We had to find it on our own. It was already 8:10 When we ordered drinks and appetizers and when they came out there were no straws. Then around 8:20, we ordered our food. Once we ordered our food the waiter never came back to check on us. We saw tables getting our food but ours. We tried to find the waiter but he was nowhere to be found. At around 8:50 he did appear we asked him about the food, and he said it should be about 10 more minutes. Then he comes a few minutes later apologizing saying he never put the order in and that it should be another 20 minutes. He apologized saying that the appetizer would be free. He came by to give us a refill on our drinks around 9:30 and we asked how long the wait was. He said it was at the window ready. We did not receive our food until 9:35. Then he forgot my son's kids' meal. We had to find and tell him about the meal. Now we had to wait another 10 minutes for his food. It was almost 10 by the time my son received his food. We asked for the bill and looked through it, the appetizer was still on the bill. If I were to ask to remove the appetizer it probably would have taken 15 minutes to do. So we all decided just to pay and leave. Overall just a bad experience. The food was probably good, was hungry at the point and just wanted to...
