I have lived in the Royal Palm Beach area for almost 4 years and my family have been on a mission for nice, non-chain, restaurants. We haven't been so successful as of yet. However, I stumbled on this place located in a busy shopping center. An amazing gem of a find. It is a family run place. Let me start by listing things I love about the place: plenty of parking, very clean, extremely friendly, amazingly quick service whether at lunch or dinner, very accommodating about making substitutions and menu adjustments, very reasonable, and the food is just amazing. The food is definitely top notched. It has a huge depth of flavor and does not rely upon spice alone; they use all fresh vegetables and seafood. I have never felt so welcomed into a place before as a new customer. They have a small menu for lunch which comes with a free bowl of yummy noodle soup, but have an extensive menu for dinner. We are averaging 3 to 4 times a month. My personal favorite is Shrimp Red Curry and of course I have to have shumai every time I go. All of our friends and family, have their own favorites. My only cons about this restaurant is that they close at 10 pm and that they are not open on Sunday. I hope they are wildly successful because I would hate to lose it as our favorite place. As we have tried all of our local Thai/Sushi/Oriental/Chinese restaurants and have found...
Read moreI've been going here for the Drunken Noodles for about 4 years now. Last evening my wife called ahead to place the order....no answer.....waited about 15 mins and called back, still no answer. She decided to go there to see if they were open as she was shopping nearby in the Walmart.
Turns out, they were open, so she placed the order and waited. Usually, the woman at the register is bubbly and very friendly, this time she seemed pissed and not cordial at all. Besides that, the noodles were broken up in pieces, and it wasn't very tasty as usual.
Maybe they had a bad day, or something else, but one thing I don't go for is spending my hard-earned money to treat myself at a restaurant and have the staff who benefits from the food that I purchase be pissy or rude to me.
One more thing, when you go there to pick up food and pay with a card, they seem to expect a tip - it's optioned on the receipt when you sign. I don't mind tipping, but never for a take-out order.
I've posted a glowing review about 9 months ago.......I don't know what's going on with them, I hope it was...
Read moreMy family and I have been coming here for at least 6 years and probably order here once every 1-3 months, and I hate to give a bad review, but I have to after tonight. In this economy, you try to pay for good food because it’s hard to find now. I thought Thai Haru was really good and they were always nice to us. What we got tonight was inedible. The chicken was absolutely disgusting. It was stringy and chopped up so strangely! It’s like they gave us leftover chicken from a week ago. I wouldn't even feed it to a starving dog. Everything was nasty. We had to toss the entire meal besides the miso soup. The meals got more expensive, but for way less portion. And you try to call to tell them how awful it is and they say there’s nothing they can do because the owner is on vacation. Ok? If an owner is on vacation then that owner puts someone in charge to handle the business and customers! Do better when handling bad situations and please start owning up to what kind of food you’re giving your customers before everyone ends up with...
