NO SLEEP! NO AC! Stay Away!||We were here for one night and paid $200 for this dreadful 2-star property. It looks like nice enough on the surface, but that superficial veneer is soon shattered. || The bed was a saggy back-breaking torture device. Your spine will not soon recover from your stay. The AC worked well enough until we tried to turn it off. Maintenance could not get the thermostat to work either; she yanked the entire cover off of the AC unit and disconnected something inside. She said it might be the thermostat battery. So why not simply replace it??? By 2am it was so hot in our room on the fourth floor, I tried to turn on just the fan, but the entire system had been disabled. Tried to open the window, but only opens 2 INCHES! It was suffocatingly stuffy and hot in the room. || At 4 oâclock in the morning some awful rumbling started; the windows were actually vibrating. I got up and looked out the window. Apparently, they are next door to a massive big rig trucking hub. At 4am they turn on the engine of every single truck there and just let them idle for hours until theyâre neededâthat night there were 14 deafening diesel monsters. It was so bad I left my husband in the bed and crawled over to the sofa. A truly, truly horrible experience. || What made matters even worse was when I spoke with Terry Stewart on the phone, the propertyâs sales manager, after we had returned home. He was defensive, pissy and utterly unhelpful. I realize they have no control over their neighbors, however, all we asked for was a QUIET roomâ that was our ONLY request. They couldâve put us on the other side of the hotel away from the entire fleet of NOISY diesel big rigs. His response to the problem with the AC was to get very hostile and aggressively demand âYou told them to turn it off!!!!! Right, right? DIDNâT YOU!!!!!!??????â No, I didnât. I asked them to FIX it so we had control over the room temperature for the duration of our night. This location is absolute rubbish. Management is hostile and rude if you have an issue. Stay away. If you require Springhill Suites, thereâs another one less than 10 minutes away thatâs more highly rated and...
Read moreWe stayed her for one night at the beginning of our vacation. This hotel is so new and nice. The hotel and the room were fantastic! ||||Unfortunately, when we arrived for check-in around 9:30pm there was no one at the front desk - just a sign letting us know they'd be back shortly. We waited and waited and waited along with another customer. When the front desk staff person returned, she seemed irritated and was not welcoming or apologetic in the least. She was aloof, but she did honor our request for a feather-free room so she was attentive to the note on our reservation. Her negative attitude got us off to a bad start after an exhausting 12-hour drive so that was the only low point in our stay. After that we just used the back stairs to come and go to avoid the front desk area. ||||However, we liked the room very much! There was a large flatscreen TV and we were able to use a Fire TV stick to get our streaming services. The couch was large and firm with a nice ottoman in front of it. The bed was extremely comfortable and we loved the foam pillows. They were some of the best pillows we've had at a hotel!||||There were a lot of mirrors in the room, including a nice well-lit one in the bathroom. There was a great use of space in the room and plenty of shelves and surfaces for setting out luggage, devices, chargers, and other items. ||||We weren't too sure about the safety of the area. We drove down the road to grab a quick dinner and noticed a lot of tagging and an abandoned pickup truck blocking some of the pumps at the nearby gas station, which creeped us out. (The same truck was also there the next morning and the gas attendant wasn't too bothered by it, which seemed odd!)||||Overall, this was one of the most comfortable rooms we'd stayed in on our trip and we'd definitely come back to Springhill Suites whether it's here in Sacramento or...
Read moreGreat hotel stay unfortunately ruined by awful customer service.
To start, the hotel is very nice. Rooms are clean. Entire hotel feels brand new. Breakfast in the morning was great. I very much enjoyed my brief stay. The only thing to note is dining/entertainment in the area is very limited. The area is light industrial but only a short drive to more commercial areas.
However, I had booked a room for a three night stay for work. The work trip was cut short one day and I only needed two nights. Upon my arrival, I informed the front desk clerk of the change. On the day I checked out, I contacted the hotel as soon as I left work to make sure the change was confirmed. I spoke with the front desk clerk, who confirmed the change and confirmed I would not be charged for the third night.
The next day, I received my bill for all three nights. The hotel was extremely unhelpful and it took numerous calls to get any assistance. I eventually received a return call from a male who did not state his name or title and essentially accused me of lying then said I would be charged the third night.
Unfortunately I have to resolve the overcharge through my credit card. It is very unfortunate as I was planning on switching to this hotel for my regular work trips. I will opt to continue to go next door to the Hampton Inn.
The most frustrating part, for me, was that there was simply no type of resolution offered. I understand that things happen and mistakes are made. But, I was not even offered so much as an apology or an explanation.
For anyone else, the hotel is, again, very nice. Just make sure you record any conversations you have with staff. Especially if it concerns changes to your reservation. Also it does not appear this incident is isolated, refer to Julieâs 1-star review for a...
