I am a Platinum Choice Member and a Choice Hotel Employee. I checked into this hotel on October 21 in the afternoon. Upon checking in as I walked up to the desk I had stood there while the man at the desk was talking bad about his coworker to another coworker. I was not acknowledged. He ignored me for 5 minutes to do that, then when the coworker he was talking about arrived, (which was a really sweet girl with black curly short hair). He began to tell her about the things she did wrong right in front of me and she looked helpless. Then, when he finally thought it was time to check me in, I booked with points and he WROTE my credit card down on a piece of paper which I thought was completely unprofessional. When I asked him about it he pretty much shunned my input and told me not to worry about. He gave me my room keys and told me nothing. Didn’t tell me where or when breakfast was, how to get to my room, nothing. I then went up to my room and the keys did not work. Fine. Went back down and he made my room keys again. Went back up to the room and the room was dirty and pitch black inside. Went back down and he seemed not too pleased to see me because he was too busy scolding his coworker for what she did wrong the previous day. I let him know my room was dirty and he said “Oh that one wasn’t cleaned yet.” He did not apologize. I then asked him if I could just cancel, I was very calm and I just wanted to go somewhere else. Since I am a platinum member I thought he would consider my feelings but he told me I could “Call them and try.” As if he already knew he wasn’t going to cancel for me and acted as if it was my fault my room wasn’t clean. He was so rude. He yelled as I walked out the door “I CAN GET YOU ANOTHER ROOM!” And at that point I had no more energy to deal with this man. I felt so bad for the girl that had to work with him, she was kind and seemed like right when she walked through the door he was giving her such a hard time. I feel that if this man was not there at check in, I would have had a better experience. I would have mattered but I still will not come back to this hotel. Worst customer service I had ever...
Read moreIt took a while to get checked in, the computers were apparently running slow. After we checked in and arrived in our room, it was ridiculously hot. We wanted to rest for an hour before we had to take our daughter to the airport, and couldn't because it was way too hot. We turned on the a/c as soon as we got there, but after waiting the entire hour, it was still really hot. The room was very small, especially considering we had requested a roll-away for our room when we booked the reservation online. We had to move the chair blocking the adjoining door to the room next door in order to have a place to open the roll-away bed which ended up blocking the door to get out of our room. When we arrived, they charged me for the roll-away, but it wasn't in the room. We had to call the front desk to have them bring us one. We were gone for several hours, and when we got back, the room was finally cooled down. The parking lot stunk of sewage, it was really bad. This was the very first hotel I've ever been to where there wasn't a bible in the room. Also, the drawers (for clothing) had stickers on every drawer that read: " Tape, Q Tips, Adhesive Remover, Gloves, 1020, Alcohol, System Wires, Nasal Canulas, Belts, Lead Wires, Nuprep, Guaze, Tape, & 1020 Paste". The WIFI was terrible, we couldn't stay connected for more than 30 seconds at a time. The bathrooms are extremely small, barely room to turn around. The bathroom consists of a toilet and a stand-up shower that steams up quickly and makes it hard to breathe. The sliding bathroom door wouldn't stay shut/locked. Breakfast in the morning was not good at all, and the selection was...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed here for two nights while attending a wedding for close friends. The location was convenient, right off the freeway and fairly central to the wedding and reception. Check-in was excellent—staff were friendly and helpful, which started our stay on a positive note.||Once inside the room, things went downhill. The room felt a little cramped, and while not terrible, it was oddly decorated—the desk was placed halfway across an adjoining door, which didn’t make much sense. We also noticed a cigarette burn in the carpet, which raised a red flag and led us to inspect things more closely. Unfortunately, the bathroom confirmed our concerns: the shower door was rotting, the shower knob was grimy, and overall it just didn’t feel clean enough to use barefoot.||The one positive was that the bed and sheets were clean and comfortable, so at least we could get some rest. However, even lying in bed, we noticed dirty handprints and other unidentifiable markings on the ceiling—hardly a relaxing atmosphere.||We considered canceling the second night and moving closer to the reception, but the hotel informed us that because our booking was under a “promotional offer” (which we didn’t realize—we apparently saved all of $4), cancellations weren’t allowed. That policy forced us to stick it out for both nights.||In the end, we made do—keeping socks on, taking quick sponge baths with washcloths, and focusing on the wedding activities. While the staff was great and the bed was fine, the overall cleanliness and maintenance issues were too much to overlook. Unfortunately, we won’t be...
