Tues, 28 Jun 2022 09:20 Hr *Overnight stay 27-28 Jun.
Location: • Convenient to highway access, shopping, theater. Not far from airport for those who fly in (we drove). HOTEL: • pool (open til 11PM) with nice private restrooms w/shower. • gym (24 hr), well-equiped with nice choices, very neat/clean. • computer center (small & convenient) available for guest off the lobby • fire pit with comfortable gathering area for guests. ROOM: • King size bed - comfortable, clean. • Bathroom - sliding glass privacy door, walk-in shower, soap, shampoo, conditioner dispensers on wall • Closet - ironing board & other useful items. • Appliances - microwave & small coffee maker • Sofa - includes a pull-out bed underneath. Cushions are very solid & deep (basically single bed width). Not comfortable to sit on. Extra pillows for back support would probably help. • TV - pivots to watch from sofa or bed. Have to watch sideways from the bed - not a comfortable position but doable. LOBBY: • Breakfast - buffet style. • Plenty of seating. STAFF: • Night Auditor - Nesi was very friendly, helpful, courteous. We checked in after 10 PM. We'd booked the room online. The rate clicked on turned out to be different when we arrive. Nesi was patient with a pleasant disposition as she made sure all was right to our satisfaction with our booking. I came back downstairs to walk around & stretch my legs after a long day's travel & lost track of time with the good conversation. I observed her interaction with other guests was just as good! • Kitchen Staff - Elvira went above & beyond to make sure I had something I could eat. She personally made & brought out to me an omelet when eggs were not among today's choices. I didn't get the other names tho they did an excellent job of keeping up on stocking & cleaning. • Front Desk - Miguel is the General Manager, who worked the desk in the AM. Super friendly! Quick to assist with questions of things to do in the area when guests had soare time before their ✈️ 🚆 🚗 departure from the area. He's very knowledgeable of what's going on in the area & places to go. 😊 Thank-you for making our short stay very pleasant for us. Note to future guests: If you come with children, please don't allow them to run about unaccompanied without you. Though they may be "good" over behaved, energetic children roaming about hotel floors & lobby alone, isn't welcoming to weary travelers who need to unwind & relax - especially when it's 10 pm, 11 pm, 12...
Read moreMy husband and I traveled to Salt Lake City to attend a wedding and booked twonights at this hotel thinking it was going to be a great place to stay because of the good reviews it had. So disappointing, although our room was very clean and nice, customer service was terrible. In the middle of a storm where we could do pretty much nothing but stay inside our hotel because it was raining and freezing outside the power went out, we called the front desk and they told me it was a problem in the area and they didn't know how long it would take for it to be solved, we didn't think much of it because it was raining, but since the hotel is inside the parking lot of a mall and everything outside had power, even a big sign that's located next to the hotel was working perfectly fine so it was more than clear that it was not a problem in the entire zone where the hotel is located. It bothered us even more that the hours went by and power didn't come back and of course the hotel's staff didn't inform their guests what was going on or give us an estimate of time when power would be restored. 7 hours later I went down to the front desk to ask what was happening and the girls working that shift were honest enough to tell me that it was a problem with the hotel's electric breakers and that they didn't know if it was going to be fixed during the night or until the next day. The power came back on until morning, so we spent 14 hours without electricity in the hotel. We couldn't even take a shower because the bathroom didn't have emergency lighting, we had to take our cellphones with us when we wanted to use the bathroom during the night because it was totally dark. The elevators didn't work, no tv, food stored in our mini fridge went bad, couldn't charge our cells and of course, no emergency maintenance crew to fix the problem. It was beyond annoying and bad service all around. Breakfast was cold and soggy, it was a very bad experience. Staff was unfriendly, we never saw any of the staff even...
