I have not even arrived to this hotel yet and for justice and compassion I am going to write a review about a review that I just read. Let me explain prior to my arrival tomorrow morning. There is a review penned by Mr. Mike Jennings a few reviews above mine. How dare he make the judgments as he sounded off with complete lack of credibility. The woman to whom he referred as probably Hispanic (talk about a jab and insensitivity) is an employee of another hotel of this chain two blocks away. I'm amazed because I just had over a one-hour delightful conversation with this woman. We shared experiences and we laughed into the evening hours in the lobby. She could not have been more engaging. I then came up to my room to read about my next destination and saw the scathing perspective of Jennings. I was not in the presence of Mr. Jennings when he interacted with my new friend who’s demeanor he labeled as rude. I find that incredibly hard to believe and he provides no clarification or evidence to support his biased claims. I read clearly between the lines of Jenning’s review and I have no doubt that this is a poor reflection of himself that he projects onto others. I would like to challenge Jennings and everyone to stop for a moment and think about our current climate and culture which envelopes all of us as we are all in this together. Mr. Jenning’s review was written 4 months ago during the height of this pandemic. Is it possible that the employee he bemoans may have been having a hard time? A difficult evening? A relative in the hospital? Let's face it, there is not one single person in the United States or barely on this planet that has not been affected by this virus. And I do not necessarily mean through personal sickness, rather no one at this point is exempt from loving somebody that has died or has become seriously ill. We are all affected. And yet people like Mr Jennings expect you to set aside your bodily form as a human being and become nothing but a robotic employee with a plastic smile who exists to serve and appease. The employees of any workforce have feelings. They are going through turmoil as they watch loved ones succumb. I once ordered a lunch combination at Fazoli's pizza and as I was speaking the gentleman ringing me at the register suddenly broke down crying. His boss allowed him to go home and then I was informed that the man's wife was on a ventilator. You never know what someone is going through. Currently the unemployment system is being totally abused. A vast percentage of people intentionally remain unemployed who are capable of implementing their job skills, who are sought after for filling positions that are desperately needed but opt for lounging at home playing video games collecting from the government. People like this desk clerk reviewed by Mike Jennings, who I admit is soft-spoken, ( is being shy a characteristic of being criminal?) show up to work and provide hospitality. Let's give them a break. Is their job performance perfect. No. And neither is yours. Are they outstanding?...
Read moreStaff at this hotel are exceptional. They really care about their clients and they take pride in their jobs and making sure that you are taken care of professionally. It's a great hotel in a great location. Lot's of restaurants in walking distance or very close by. The suites have full kitchenettes: two burner stove, microwave, full sink, dishwasher, coffee maker, and apartment size fridge. All necessities are provided: dishes, utensils, and cookware (our pots and pan was really scratched but we didn't cook in the room). The hotel offers a free laundry area (bring your detergent) but we didn't use it but for long term guests it's a great benefit and the laundry room was clean and well maintained.
Breakfast was one of the best I've had a hotel; eggs, breakfast potatoes, sausage, different breads for toasting (bagels, English muffins, etc), muffins, and other continental breakfast items you normally see in a hotel, were offered each morning. There is a pancake machine - which makes the best little pancakes and no mess - you push a button and about a minute later out pops two of best little pancakes you can imagine. And no mess like you see with hotel waffle machines.
Rooms are super quiet, once we closed the door there was absolutely no noise at all; even though walking up to our door we could our next door neighbors talking in their room. Also, one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept...
Read moreMy group of six ladies has been staying at this Hawthorn Suites Hotel twice a year since 2017. Each visit just gets better. From the personal care we get when we call to make the reservation, right up until we check out after our two-night stay, we are treated better than royalty. We are treated like family. The lobby becomes our Great Room and we are AT HOME, or so it feels. At the Front Desk we are made to feel like they have missed us and can't wait to catch up on our latest news. Robyn and Brent have made it certain that we won't be having our semi-annual get-togethers anywhere else. They always go the extra mile for my friends and me. From the treats they have for us on the buffet, all the way up to the extra towels and soaps, the Hawthorn has made us loyal repeat customers. One last note, the hotel rooms, lobby, patio and workout room are always clean and tidy. Keep up...
