Came here because my son wanted to look around, particularly at the fishing items. I can't afford anything at this store, prices have sky rocketed over the years and now things just are completely unaffordable for me. Anyway, we first walked in and a store employee asked if I wanted to open a credit card, I'd get a free hat. I said no thanks. She said you also get $20 off of your purchase. I said no I don't plan on buying anything. Walk a little down the middle aisle of the store and some random lady stops us and says follow me I want to show you something. It happened so fast and was so confused, so we followed her. She gave us a map and asked where on there we'd like to go. My son and I looked at each other and picked a place, still so confused on what is happening. She explained some promotion and I said yeah right that's too good to be true. Then, this man comes up and begins explaining it, really trying to make it sound like these is the deal of the century. I'm like ummm no....I don't have any money. This is what he said 'All you have to do is open a credit card or use your own, but $199 on it today, and when you take your trip to one of OUR locations (the store), you get $100 back, doesn't that sound like such a good deal?!" I said um, no cause things like that are too good to be true. Then he proceeds to say he will throw in an extra day and give me back $150. I said sir I do not have the money for this. He said just put it on a credit card and pay it later. I said no, I'm a single mother with tons of bills that I can barely afford. He said you can pay it whenever, just pay it in a year from now. I said um I'm sorry, that would acquire tons of interest. Then, he says oh it wouldn't be much just $20 something. I was shocked that this man, whoever he was, did not care that I explained I had no money for anything like this. A vacation isn't a necessity, if I don't have the money for it I don't go. It doesn't end there, he says come here I want to show you something. He starts putting in my info on a laptop....after a minute I asked so what did you want to show me? He said oh you're changing your mind? Why is that? You don't want to take your son on a trip that's paid for? Then a different lady comes up and isn't as aggressive and explains things. She said all I had to do was listen to a 90 minute presentation. And I said all right, so say if I picked to go to Florida, how do I get there? She said however you want, we just pay for your hotel not your travel expenses. I laughed and said yeah there it is, knew there was something fishy about this. I'm shocked that Cabela's is allowing these people to harass their customers like this. Trying to trick me into something??! I don't even want to step foot into this store again after what...
Read moreI went in yesterday evening and expected to find a reasonably priced pair of boots around 100 to $120 maybe and was willing to spend up to 200 peruse the boots for a few minutes before making a decision to track heroin I left several different styles and pricing and finally found a couple that I'd like to try on these are $169 A pair by the way. Of the three styles that I liked $169 189 and I believe 209 there were no bootsf on hand in my size to try on only bigger or smaller there's no shoes attendant or shoe salesman to be found I went to the closest kiosk waiting for an employee but for about a ring saw cleaning woman but no person to help me get shoes out of the stockroom all this well two or three security people with earpieces and acting like they're not an employee have walked past me as I'm there now about 20 minutes I try to flag one of them down and he turns his head as if he doesn't see me or that I don't know that you actually works there and scurries up to the front so I go to the front find the nearest employee and ask them for some help in the shoe department they said sure there should have been someone back there I said no there was no one back there so they send someone to try to find that said person and said second person who was on duty in that area. Well as I waited for my roommate because she was parking the car she came in and said did you find a pair and I said no and in fact I would rather not spend any money here as there's no help and now that I've seen the operation there were at least one and a half times the amount of employees as there were shoppers it was a very slow evening for shopping and could not understand why someone couldn't help me spend my hard earned money for a pair of work boots so I went to shoe carnival and bought a $100 of the similar quality pair of boots style. I would have spent $180 on the pair at Cabela's.... So, missed that one didn't...
Read moreLet me start off by stating, I have never once written a review about an establishment. I've had plenty of good and bad experiences at different places, but I am not the type of person to leave a review. But, after taking my girlfriend and Black lab to Cabela's, I thought giving credit where credit is due was quite necessary. When we first walked in, we were greeted with a smile by Courtnay, who talked to us for twenty minutes and gave our lab lots of pets and attention. She answered all the questions that we had, and was a joy to talk to. As we shopped around, we had team members asking us if we were finding everything alright and being very attentive to customers all over the store. I had a few questions for associate Cary who was more than happy to help me, and we even had an awesome conversation afterwards. When we needed help finding a shock collar for lab puppy, manager Issac was more than happy to drop what he was doing and come over and help us right away. After he helped us and found us exactly what we needed, we talked to him and a few other associates for awhile and they all gave my lab more pets, and were an absolute joy to talk to. It was commendable seeing Issac interact with his employees and being so pleasant, fun, and professional. I think all managers could learn a lot from Issac, and I want to give him recognition. As we checked out and were leaving, our lab ran right over to Courtnay to get even more pets from her. All in all, I recommend everyone to go to this establishment for all their outdoor needs, as you'll be treated more like family, rather...
