Quaker Steak & Lube — Restaurant in West Virginia

"They must have been having a bad day", is my opening statement. Me and two of my friends visited QSL for wings. Have always had a good experience at QSL but today was different. Two of us ordered bone in wings. It took almost 40 minutes for us to get our meal. I personally threw a curve ball because I asked for an order of wings, to go, just before we were ready to leave. We got our wings but there was no sauce on them. Therefore, we had to ask the waitress for our wing sauces. To add insult to injury, I did not inspect my take home order to see if it had sauce on them. Sure enough, after driving 2 hours home, my wife opened the box of wings and there was no sauce on them!

My take away.

Wait staff was great and kept our drinks full but they should be checking our orders to make sure they are correct before serving.

Sometimes there are kitchen oversights but when you have 3 orders of wings and none of them had sauce on them it is not an oversight.

Management needs to tighten up and make sure their food meets quality standards.

Final impression.

The wings were a generous size. Have had some wings that make you wonder if they were off a chick. I digress. The sauces, once we got them, were tasty.

I will go back because I like their food but will be more cautious and make sure my order is correct...

I am absolutely disgusted in this establishment. I came in on Sunday to get some food with my girlfriend and the actions of some of the workers was just insane. We showed up right at opening and our lovely hostess immediately sat us down and was very attentive while we were waiting for our server. We don't know what happened but somebody was being extremely rude and condescending to the hostess that sat us. As someone who has previously worked in the food industry, and someone who is currently a boss, there is a certain way to talk to people and the people who were talking to our hostess did not pass the vibe check if I'm being completely honest. The food was okay, but the service was terrible. My girlfriend and I watched as this poor young lady was literally pushed out of her job. I know that being a young, hardworking woman in todays age is extremely challenging and this lady did not deserve what happened. We were shocked at the lack of empathy from the employees. We watched as this lady walked out of the restaurant and sat in her car, with tears in her eyes. I can assure you that we will never come back to this place again or any other Quaker Steak & Lube. Absolutely disgusted. Shame...

Our server Allison made the the whole experience WONDERFUL. She was so congenial and happy. It is for her we give the 3rd star. Sometimes when a server comes by to ask "How is everything, is everything okay" it is a necessary function. Not with Allison. As for the food it was 2 stars. Not great, not bad, just meh. The ambiance & overall atmosphere was very busy & not pleasing. The music was WAY to loud and in direct competition with the 2 football games playing and the one basketball game. There were more than few overly inebriated (patrons that were loud and off putting.) This is NOT a family atmosphere establishment, regardless how they bill themselves. While some of the drunks were overtly and obliviously loud several more were bousterous and argumentative. If not for Allison the evening would have been a negative. Allison apologized more than once & told us that it was the managers prerogative to remove unpleasant patrons. Unless we could fbe sure that Allison would be there, we do not plan to go back. Overall the evening was a 2 star evening, but Allison made it bearable and gets the 3rd star all...
