It pains me to even give this Bob Evans 1 star. TERRIBLE service and management who doesn't seem to care. Went for dinner on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was nearly empty. We were seated immediately but our waitress Kayla Plunkett was nowhere to be found. After several minutes of waiting, a male host came over and took our drink orders saying he didn't know where Kayla was. When she finally approached our table we discovered she only had 2 tables to take care of - ours and a second table. She brought us our food but didn't bother to refill our drinks at all. When the food arrived we asked about getting mayo for the sandwich and if my rolls were still coming out for my meal. Kayla threw us a packet of mayo but said nothing about the rolls, still provided no drink refills, and she proceeded to disappear into the restroom for almost 15 minutes. When she finally re-appeared from the restroom we again asked about the rolls and she said she had forgotten. She then asked if we wanted refills, which by now our meals were practically done. My meal combo was supposed to include a dessert but after bringing our rolls and the check out at the same time we watched her grab her coat and disappear outside for another 10 minutes. After we had paid our bill and were preparing to walk out she walked back inside, saw us leaving, and hurried into the kitchen where she returned and handed me a container with a slice of pie. It's also worth noting the folks at the second table she was responsible for were also complaining about her terrible service. How this woman is still employed as a waitress is baffling. Called the next morning (Thursday) and spoke with Manager Jeff who stated he would pass this along to the head manager Dave and Dave would call me back by noon. Never received a call. Sunday morning arrived, still hadn't heard anything, so I called back into the restaurant asking for Dave. Dave didn't seem to remember the incident and could only recall "you said you had a bad experience." He stated it had been documented, but that was it. No offer of anything else, no offer to make it right. So that's fine, apparently the head manager doesn't care either. That being said, we will NEVER spend another dime at this location, they've lost our...
Read moreMy comments refer to the "delivery" of words by the staff and the "optic" of the environment later in the evening and with half empty seats.
On a recent visit one and a half hours before closing, we were greeted by the hostess/cashier who said, "You're going to have to wait to sit" (delivery).
We said, "Ok" like any other reasonable customers, however the curtness of her words made me raise an eyebrow.
Then I looked at the dining area, expecting to see every seat taken.
To our surprise, half the dining area was vacant. I raised an eyebrow again. The staff appeared to have begun closing off and cleaning up well before closing (optic).
I asked the hostess/cashier why we were waiting to sit and she said there was only one waitress.
We later sat and enjoyed a very well cooked meal served by a very nice waitress.
While eating, a couple entered and the hostess/cashier provided the same introduction to them, rather curt with no words of apology. This couple apparently wanted a booth, saw that some were vacant, but were told they were not available. The couple walked out.
At the end, I offered feedback to her about the delivery of words and the optic of the environment.
If I were an owner or manager I'd want to know about this in order to properly promote what this establishment provides, which is good...
Read moreThe first sign of this disappointing restaurant was its empty parking lot. As my father used to to say, “if a restaurant’s parking lot is empty, stay away.” Well, folks, he was right! We sit down and order pretty quickly and they take thirty minutes to bring out our food- keep in mind the restaurant was pretty empty and a couple who sat down and ordered after us got their food before us. After waiting half and hour, they bring out the wrong food and not what I ordered. They take fifteen minutes to bring out the right order and it looks nothing like the picture. I got two chicken breasts topped heavily with black beans, corn, and avocado with a side of hash browns and broccoli. There was maybe a dozen singular kernels of corn and beans on top. No broccoli in sight and no hash browns I’m assuming because the other order they brought out that I kept as they said it would not be on the bill, had had hash browns. The soup was room temperature and the take away box started leaking because I was not about to waste that chicken after all I went through. When we asked for a bag for the leaking box the woman at the counter shoved a bag at us and said nothing; quite a rude demeanor. We have passed this Bob Evans many times since then and it always has an empty parking lot, for...
