As a foreign visitor to the U.S., I’ve traveled extensively and stayed in a wide range of hotels — but nothing prepared me for the level of disrespect, hostility, and outright bias I experienced at this property. I arrived very early, fully aware that I might need to wait for check-in. I wasn’t asking for anything special — just to be acknowledged and treated with basic respect. What I didn’t expect was to be treated like an unwelcome intruder.
The woman at the front desk looked at me with immediate hostility — not even a basic greeting. Her tone was cold, her body language was aggressive, and her overall attitude made it crystal clear that I am not welcome. The worst part? While I was still standing there, she exchanged smug, condescending looks with nearby guests who appeared to be locals, then laughed in my direction while chatting with them. Moments later, her demeanor flipped — all smiles and friendliness — when those same guests asked for something. The contrast was shocking. It wasn’t subtle. It felt racist.
This was someone who clearly should not be working in hospitality. Hospitality requires empathy, professionalism, and the ability to treat all guests with dignity — regardless of where they come from. This front desk agent failed on every level. Her behavior was not only inappropriate, it was toxic.
Whether rooted in ignorance, local small-mindedness, or something more malicious, the way I was treated as a foreigner was unacceptable. No guest — especially someone traveling from abroad — should be made to feel belittled, excluded, or humiliated like this.
When I asked for a receipt, I was brushed off with a cold, “It’s just an authorization, not a charge,” with zero explanation and maximum attitude. I’m familiar with hotel policies — I wasn’t confused. I was being talked down to, intentionally. P.S. They also charged me an extra 50$ (deposit?) on top of the room price at check-in, which was already at 261$. (So far) I have not received it back.
The room was yet another disappointment: overpriced, unclean, and far below any reasonable standard for the price. For what I paid, the quality was unacceptable.
This hotel fails on every level — customer service, hospitality, and basic human decency. If you are an international traveler or visiting the U.S. from abroad, I strongly urge you to avoid this place. The treatment I received suggests a biased and unwelcoming attitude toward foreign guests. They clearly do not value or respect all visitors equally. It’s simply not worth your time, money, or...
Read moreWe had to change rooms because the TV and air conditioning didn't work they did refund 100.00. Asked for a ice bucket the older lady said they didn't have any and handed us a plastic bag to ice and we had to put it in our bathroom sink. Now that's real sanitary now isn't. She didn't greet us standing up she sat in a chair while checking us in and on top of that she ran our card and said insufficient funds which we knew there was more then enough money called the 1 800 number and they said it was at there end. Well she said you try it on our credit card machine and it went through. She had a tattoo on her arm which said June Bug and then a bug. When checking out there was another lady upfront very kind and my husband asked her why they don't have ice buckets the kind lady said that they do. June Bug lady was just to lazy to get up from her chair. Plus their pool abd hot tub closed which was not on their website. Breakfast good be better more variety of food abd decaf coffee. There was free washing for the guest. It could be a good hotel if they would fix up the rooms and AC and retire...
Read moreThis place had a nice room. Bed was comfortable. Coffee/tea available in the check in area. Great breakfast variety except the bananas were over ripe everyday. The staff were friendly but don't ask about getting to the airport - at least one person can't answer anything about transportation (training in order). The problem I had was that I specifically booked this place because it had a hot tub so we could relax after snowshoing but the pool didn't work nearly the whole week we were there. The hot tub was open for at least one night but it was lukewarm instead of hot. Plus the hot tub is outside and not close enough to the door so be careful to wear shoes and something to cover up with if you go out (if it ever works). And the pool towels are tiny so don't expect those to keep you from freezing before you get back inside (dangerous change in temp when you're exposed). Very...
