We visited here yesterday on our way back to Canada. This was our last stop, so we had planned to go in wash our hands and get the kids treat. When we arrived, there were multiple signs stating that the dining room was closed, but the drive through was open (once we got to the drive through, there was a notice that they were short staffed, so understandable). We waited for quite a while for the 4 cars ahead of us, about 15 minutes. Once we got to the speaker, we ordered with no issue. The issues began when we got to the window to pay. My husband held up his visa and the guy working there said "I need to take it, our machine is in here". So my husband passed him our visa and the guy passed out our ice cream. We waited about 3 minutes, before the guy finally said "it's not working" and my husband replied "that's really weird, we've been using it all day with no issue..." (at this point we had been to 5 different places, and had plenty of money available on it). The guy said "well, is this some kind of card from Canada or something?" we laughed, because we truly thought he was joking. It's a visa. Generally all retailers take Visa. It doesn't matter where it came from. So we said, "yes we're from Canada". And the guy replies, "I'm sorry that doesn't work here".... Ummm... What??? So my husband tells him let me try my debit card I guess, but it won't work, and I need to put in my pin". So the guy says "we don't have the handheld part for this machine, you can't put your chip in."... Again... What??? How can you offer debit without a chip reader or the ability to use anything other than tap? There should be a sign, if that's the case. Well we try debit and no go. At this point, I tell them they're going to have to take the ice cream back. So another guy comes over, and says, we can try it again, but I don't know what to tell you, we don't have the card reader, and the card won't work. " so my husband makes him try the debit again. (at this point we've been trying for about 7 or 8 minutes, and we're embarrassed and frustrated). Finally it goes through.
This is just a forewarning to any other Canadians, or people who have debit cards without tap/broken tap; don't go here. They really need signage to explain they don't have the proper debit capabilities, and that their staff aren't trained on the machine properly ("Canadian visa doesn't work here" ... 🤦♀️) The ice cream was...
Read moreNormally this was a decent place to eat my last experience was absolutely unacceptable.i ordered cheese curds as a side for both of my meals and they did not repeat back my order to me.... well they gave me a fry instead. I stated theese were both supposed to be cheese curds and a guy in a sweatshirt with no name tag said that's not what you ordered. I said that is what I asked for and he continued to argue. And he said well you didnt pay for them and showed me the receipt. Which he did ring it up wrong he said if you want cheese curds you will have to pay for them. So I played the upcharge. And asked for the manager. He said he was the manager which dumbfounded me.... he was not wearing a nametag and wearing a hoodie. I feel like even his clothing choice would be unacceptable for management and not wearing a nametag.... he also stated I could not come back. This is very inappropriate. And I hope you do something about this horrible customer service. Just him stating that that is not what i ordered instead of saying let me fix that is not cool. Then continuing to argue. I do not reccomend this location to anyone. Rarely do I leave a one star review but that...
Read moreSummary: Worst experience ever at a Dairy Queen, by far. Detail: I have been to a lot of Dairy Queens, but the one in Whitefish was a new experience a couple of weeks ago. Walked in to find a twelve year old at the register. No joke. A twelve year old. I presume it was his grandmother who stood by while we tried to explain the items we wanted to eat. He didn't know what was included in the chicken basket or how to upgrade the drink to a blizzard. That might have been workable, but neither did the woman! In fact, she actually walked to the back twice to clarify, coming back to say the BOY did it right. When I got the receipt, I saw he had not. We also asked for a chicken burger without sauce. She told him to select "plain", which ended up meaning meat and bun. More details could be shared, but the point is -- total ineptitude was displayed in every aspect of the job (including an inability to print an itemized receipt - someone else happened by who helped with that...
